Considering that it's probably our weakest position right now, and it might push some of the ones who aren't quite good enough towards the exit door, I'm all for it.

Where to start…? “fans were told to expect a top 26 finish” - were they? Or were they told that was the club’s aim? “Wagner in his rebuild has strengthened thier hopes and fears“ - strengthen their hopes and their fears? One or the other surely? “Wagner guided us to 13th as if that was his plan all along” - was it? He never said so.

I genuinely think we'll be better this season than last for general defensive solidity. I just think we'll be dour, boring and struggle to create and score goals.
  4. 4 points
No we’re not. I’ll happily wager a charity bet to CSF on it that we are 10th or higher if anyone is willing to put their money where their mouth is.

I’m still very concerned with the lack of creativity in this squad but one thing we should not be unlike the last few seasons is lightweight and powderpuff. Looking at the squad so far we have: Gunn, Hanley, Gibson, Omobamidele, Duffy, Stacey, Barnes, Sargent, Sorenson, Idah, McClean, Sara, Giannoulis all around the 6ft plus mark. Most of these will be regular starters week in week out and with Wagners up and at them approach we should be no pushovers. Plus we should be much more of a threat from set pieces this season with Duffy, Stacey and Barnes hopefully chipping in with some goals and assists. I don’t believe we are too far away from assembling a really strong competitive squad for the season ahead. 2 or 3 quality loan/permanent additions and we will have a chance.

It takes some doing to remain that way on here. My only consolation is come the Hull game most of you won't be there...
  7. 2 points
Also... Sounds like the sort of player who might do well within the way Wagner plays.

Young Ralph Coates with the winner. Same again in 75, didn’t turn up and another crap match.

This is my dog's artistic view of post Brexit Britain. She has suffered for her art and I feel her pain. The Tate have offered £100k but she's holding out for more because she thinks the Yanks are even more stupid than us. And, let's face it, it's better than anything else in The Tate.

It doesn't really matter how strong and powerful we are if we can't control or pass the ball. This is undoubtedly the least skillful squad we've had since we were relegated to League One.

You already pay for a season ticket that seems to make you utterly miserable. Don't chuck any more at it. Spend your money on something that makes you happy. Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think...

"letting all our talented players leave for free or next to nothing" Feel free to provide the list of all those talented players who left for free or next to nothing. I'm too stupid to remember their names.

Its time to put the last 2 years behind us. Whats not to look forward to? 2 weeks away from a new season and a fresh start. Granted expectations will not be as high but that isn't a bad thing. I think we all expected what was evidently beyond us. Now we can, with hopefully a couple more signings, play our way into a good season. You don't always have to get promoted to have a successful campaign.

Yes and yes. There is case for base load nuclear (but not the SNRs) and of course hydrogen for (renewable) energy storage / distribution. The issues with some renewables are well known - sometimes the wind generators are paid to switch off and at other times even recently we still had to power up coal stations (air conditioning - too hot too hot little wind). The issue if the 'grid' in its current form can even supply all the electric power required for electric heating in home and vehicles most people don't even think about - especially many woolly 'greens'. Just look a the arguments about some pylons needed locally to connect windfarms to the grid! Much much more will be needed than that! Electric battery technology is improving is good but I always think it will ultimately be a niche parallel technology (ballast if you like) to fuel cells. I noted the other day that leaps and bounds had been made in 'fuel tank' hydrogen storage (ammonia in a perovskite lead iodate structure). Easy in easy out.

If you’re going to try and mock someone’s opinion you likely shouldn’t be using comparisons like West Ham making about 100m off Rice, vs is making not a lot more than 500k off Mumba. The poster you are replying to raises a valid point - which other clubs out there would leave the likes of Webber in charge of recruitment, potentially joining a league rival, for such a long notice period, when also clearly a disgruntled individual. In other clubs he would be either paid off early or on gardening leave. In other industries almost certainly.

I listened to Radio 5 on Friday morning. A senior Tory was given a clear run to say why it was a wonderful night for them. Angela Rayner was shouted down and was simply told she had lost. It was extraordinary. I couldn't quite believe it. I was also astonished that over an hour into the programme they hadn't mentioned vote lending which was the deciding factor in the 2 seats that the Conservatives lost. I texted them and told them they had missed it (I doubt I was the only one) and 5 minutes later Rachel Burden suddenly said it was the big story of the night. She was right but why had no one at the BBC mentioned it? Are they useless or simply terrified of the Tories?

Maybe I’ll be wrong about this one but…I’m not particularly @rsed about it. I don’t really see how he fits in, we’ve cleared a profit and he gets first team football. Of course, if he ends up at Leyton Orient in 8 years time and they get promoted to the Premier League, well, it will be Carlton Morris all over again. Mind, Delia will be 90 by then, still clinging on and we’ll be having derbies with Wroxham. Probably.

You won’t be missing out on much. The journalism has gone right down the pan on here in recent years and most of the articles are available in the EDP and EEN to read for free anyway.

Zimbo is a genuine legend for me. Gave his all in every appearance and made time for the fans at every opportunity, whether post match or at fan events. Wanting to simply play the games says so much. A clear leader and future coach. I can only wish him the very best

At last a sensible response. Whilst I don't necessarily agree at least we are having a actual debate rather than trading insults. When we were scoring we had Dowell in the team. Now we don't and there doesn't seem to be an adequate replacement either.

Front row is awesome, but always always depends on the individual cinema as some put you to close. But you can scretch your legs, less chance of people around you. Can get a bit drafty. Back row is also good. No one behind you, a grand overview of the screen, but lots of heads between you and the screen. You are paying to watch others watching the film.

This is encouraging. https://www.energyportal.eu/news/harnessing-the-power-of-wind-the-future-of-hydrogen-energy-storage/39867/ Wind power has long been recognized as a key component of the renewable energy mix, with its ability to generate electricity without producing harmful greenhouse gas emissions. However, one of the major challenges associated with wind power is its intermittent nature, as wind speeds can vary significantly over time and across different locations. This variability can lead to periods of excess electricity generation when demand is low, and conversely, periods of insufficient generation when demand is high. To overcome this challenge, energy storage solutions are required to balance supply and demand, ensuring that electricity is available when and where it is needed. This is where hydrogen energy storage comes into play. By using excess electricity generated by wind turbines to power electrolyzers, water can be split into hydrogen and oxygen, effectively converting the electricity into chemical energy stored in the form of hydrogen gas. This hydrogen can then be stored for later use, either as a fuel for transportation or as a means of generating electricity when wind power is not sufficient to meet demand. This process, known as power-to-gas, has the potential to significantly improve the efficiency and reliability of wind power, while also providing a valuable source of clean hydrogen fuel.

Terrified of the bullying and whining tories, which really worries me. They get pressure from MPs and have a few people lurking inside making sure the narrative is tory positive. A cowed and weakened corporation.

What an absurd suggestion. If the previous seasons form was a prediction of the following season, then every season would finish exactly the same for every club. Our 'bouncing back' into the Pl rather knocks that nonsense on the head, as does the evidence of clubs finishing in the play offs one season and struggling the next. Of course, we have failed to sign anyone. There's err....ummm three other Championship clubs who have signed more. Just the three. What about money ? Well apart from the £30m parachute payment, £8m Rashida, £3m Maddison, £1m Mumba and anything over £15m for Aarons, that is it. We've struggled to sellout season rickets - apart from the 20,000 we have sold. So why can't we be like the club some on here support. Those down the A140. You don't see them losing against two lower league teams in one afternoon .......well actually

I’ve recently succumbed to paying and don’t regret it. Got fed up of being teased by the article headlines. i actually think it’s decent value and I’m quite keen to try and support the local journalist covering Norwich (although do miss Michael Bailey). As I don’t live in Norwich, reading the articles and this forum help me to still feel closer to the fan base.

Our other options are Hernandez, Placheta, Tzolis, Rowe and Springett, if you don't include Sainz who is out for three months. I'd say that the wings are our weakest position right now, so it isn't exactly a high bar.

How many 90 minute matches of Plymouth did you watch? It must have been 20 at least to have such a strong view? This is you in a nutshell again, unable to debate and have to resort to your typical childish level of intellect. Maybe it's just your level, I don't know. I haven't actually seen anyone defend still, just give alternative opinions as to why we sold. For me, unlike you, of whom Plymouth are clearly a second team, I've not seen enough of Mumba. I've not watched 1800 minutes of him like you. So I have no idea if he's good enough or not. I see the Plymouth fans are generally delighted but there's a decent amount who are concerned he's going to be a complete liability at this level defensively, and hopes they build a team around him to cope with that. I'm not sure he's that good for us to build a whole team around or change our formation for. And it appears the rest of the division agrees with that since they weren't willing to poach him for £1.5m. But again. Maybe the rest of the league haven't watched Plymouth as much as you?

The ESA monitors land and sea temperatures via it's satellites . It has not gone from measuring air temperatures to land temperatures as it never measured air temperatures in the first place . The clue is in the title ......The European Space Agency , it measures temperatures from space. The temperatures we have seen reported from Italy and Greece are from their own national meteorology services and not the ESA and using traditional methods,

The vibe seems very bad. We lost our star striker for nothing and cannot afford to replace him so are hoping others step up. We are trying to sell the talent we have and are bringing in older players with no resale value - always a sign of a club on the slide. We have a DOF who is half out the door and no obvious vision. A manager who has failed spectacularly in recent seasons and who flopped big time in his debut season with us. The new owners appear to either have cold feet or are being hampered from takeover by the old guard who just refuse to let go. And it is clear we don’t have a pot to pee in. So disappointing. It’s going to get ugly fast at this rate- club seem to be gambling on getting big bucks for Aarons or big Andy - but neither seems to be happening. Someone p%**d it all up the wall- and here we are. Looking more like a QPR or Birmingham than a top half team. But, hey, at least we have the ridiculous Hoggy to criticise us for speaking truth and assure us it’s all just swell…

I’d love us to do well, it I just can’t see it. The system last year was awful and utterly predictable. If it’s “same system, slightly different players” then we’ll be mid table again.
