And finally...i have got the call and a slot time for the 13th. for my 1st jab. Considering im in the over 65 age group i must have been right at the tail end of this group to get a slot. Patience has been rewarded at last.

This picture has appeared in various outlets of the Tory propaganda machine Sunday papers today. Going to have to get into work super early tomorrow to install all these imaginary dividers, perspex screens and "knee-operated sinks" that are apparently all going to be delivered and installed by 8:25 tomorrow morning.... Presumably all of this will be funded by flogging our smartboards and replacing them with blackboards. Good job my classes of 30/31/32 are apparently to be reduced to 9 who will all have laptops though. This isn't an accident, this is actual Goebbels level, state sponsored propaganda. Do people really believe this ****? If you replaced the students with unicorns it would be VERY marginally less realistic.

I can update you in the real world. As you will know we have a friend working in ICU, the one you insulted on here a few months ago. She was a cancer nurse, but like many was transferred to ICU COVID wards and worked with little specialist knowledge at first, but like many have given everything and learnt as they went along. She is a lovely person who loved life who was known as a family person, her husband and children away from her patients were her world. For several months she lived in a poky little flat away from her loved family, so as to avoid bringing COVID home. When you speak to her on the phone, she rarely mentions her work, but some of what she has mentioned is horrific. I don’t think she is totally broken, but she is exhausted, and we don’t know what’s going on at the back of her head. She feels the 1% is a total insult, of course they will be earning lots of extra money as there will be huge waiting lists and plenty of extra shifts, but would you work 12 hours per day 7 days a week after what they have been through ? They need a break. To this end she personally will be leaving the NHS and has accepted a job in 3 months time in a private hospital, where she will be paid more with far less responsibility. More worryingly she mentions her friends who are considering leaving nursing and some going abroad where they earn so much more ( yes in The EU as well ). I know from personal experience that some of the nurses and doctors on their days off have volunteered on the vaccination sites. There is a practice manager on our vaccination site that is not authorised to allocate time to working on the vaccination sites, so he uses his annual leave when we have vaccine to come and volunteer, when this is used he will take unpaid leave. I would like to think that at worst we will give our nurses and doctors a 2 week holiday and £500 to book a holiday. As an economist you can advise us with your knowledge, but I would think recruiting and training 10’s of thousands of new doctors and nurses will cost a lot more in the long run.

You just can't help yourself can you. If you have nothing useful to say why don't you keep your gammon gob shut you sour pipsqueak. And try reading what J actually says instead of making up lies about his intentions. I suggest you stop leeching money from the tax-payer to subsidise your staff's poverty pay rates, and stop exploiting NHS resources for your company's profits, before you start criticising people on furlough. Jaberry, I have no doubt you will be welcomed wherever you eventually end up, Norfolk people are typically a warm bunch and very unlike this buffoon. Good luck with your search.

I’d leave my job if someone else doubled or trebled my money. They are not Norwich fans it’s their job. That said I guess they feel some deep warmth towards the club but we would have to reward them big time to consider staying.

Can people now see how hard we had it when we had a pile of centre-halves missing last season, with defensive midfielders helping out back there? Manchester City struggled for ages with a similar problem last season too even with all their riches. No wonder we were in trouble from the start of it.

I'm afraid there are quite a few nurses leaving the profession, certainly the NHS, it's not difficult to see why. The 1% offer is an insult, it really is after we all know, but dont fully understand, what nursing staff must have been through over the last 12 months, and will continue to go through. This isnt over yet, we can also look forward! to increased respiratory diseases of all kinds next winter plus Covid. We also have a massive backlog of elective work to catch up on, the excess strain is going to be there for years. We never needed the NHS more than we do now, a lot of it is run on goodwill which sadly has just been blown out of the window.

Thanks for that corrective Wbb. My partner has worked without a holiday break on the Covid front-line from day one and has often left the house at five in the morning to return at 9.30 in the evening. She also has volunteered to deliver vaccines (over1,200 hundred of them last saturday with her colleagues at a Norwich clinic). She is utterly exhausted and has no time for anything other than sleep when she is not at work. However, she is determined to soldier on having experienced the loss of her 50-year old brother to Covid, and knowing first-hand the damage this virus has wrecked. I can only wonder at the morality of those without any first-hand experience of what health workers have endured who are quick to judge them in this sour and mean-spirited manner.

I appreciate that everybody has overdosed on this poster, but its like you didn't read a single word of the title or the original post. At no stage does he suggest we have any chance of getting Skipp? Bit bizarre?

Have to respectfully disagree here, at least with regard to the comparison. Totally agree that Sorensen was doing very well indeed there and can easily see him being seen as a back-up option there next season, but that wasn't why he was bought. Finding out that Sorensen had that in his locker was good luck rather than management, but it also raises the anticipation of what we're going to see when Sorensen finally starts getting a run of games in the position originally earmarked for him. It's not usually too good for a youngster's development if they're consistently playing out of position, so I'd really like to see Sorensen get more time in the middle now. Farke does seem to be bringing him on a fair bit now for a few minutes, feeding him small doses of positive experience in there and letting him get used to it.

Have any of them factored in the Referee Assistance for Swansea into their algorithm? Looks like they've been told Swansea must go up. The Naughton dive became even more bizarre when the ref that gave it officiated us and seemed to have a very high bar for what was considered a foul. Yet only days before he's giving a penalty for a blatant and appalling dive.

This. Wasn't he 4th in chances created in the EPL last season? In a team that came bottom. And got only 21 points. He's easily an EPL player already and a top one at that. And I suspect he'll go to the World Cup in 2022. Even if he continues to renonstrate after being tackled and blaze free kicks over the crossbar.

I think that we have brought in a Premier League left back. The week by week improvement is really impressive.

And back at the beginning of this season we were being told that 'Farke hasn't got a clue how to organise a defence'. 🙂

Godfrey and Maddison would be the counter argument there. I would assume Farke and Webber will tell Todd, Emi and, to a lesser extent, Aarons that they need to deliver goals and assists on a consistent basis at PL level before they're ready to move to a top club. Todd and Emi were good last season, but they had spells - as Farke pointed out - where they didn't make an impact.

Several points here. Rupp is playing over Dowell because Dowell has not impressed enough - yet. It is still early in his time at Norwich and he has to prove he is up to the workrate and required desire to play at the level required in a Farke team. That may come with time as he gets fitter and more used to what is required, but until he impresses enough at all facets of his game, he is unlikely to get a start. The fact that he gets on at all as a sub shows he is involved and being given every opportunity to show what he can do, but he has not yet done enough - certainly not enough to replace someone like Rupp, who has been consistently good when given the chance in the team. Secondly, Mario may not have been impressing you, but he has been constant figure in our winning run, maybe not shining like Cantwell and Buendia, but nevertheless a constant and quietly getting on with his job - and still with a high amount of assists this season. Today he was rested, simple as. That Rupp came in and did so well gives farke another option now and with Stiepermann waiting to get back in, the choices are good ones for Farke. Dowell has been up against it since he arrived - trying to assimilate to Farke's methods and our way of playimg, geting injured, no pre-season, up against mature players well versed in our ways. He has to prove he can do it, but as with other players who have come in to the squad from elsewhere, it may take him some time to get there. We are not just a club who can give players a game just because they cost money, they have to prove themselves.

Absolutely this. Not just in the middle of the park, but the way the wide roles have developed and the cover provided by the CDMs. I don't think it's just personnel (although I think Skipp is a massive improvement over previous incumbents), but also a significant tactical shift as well as a general improvement in discipline and positioning. But let's also not underplay the improvement from Hanley, having finally had a decent run of fitness, and the way in which Gibson has fitted into our system so well.
  37. 2 points
Neither - for some reason loads of people these days seem to feel some insane urge to rush to ludicrously hasty judgements - it's far too early to tell.

Nothing sums up the weird short termism of football than this sort of thing. Klopp has won 3 league titles and a Champions League, most managers won't even come close to this.

  41. 1 point
Apart from an average set piece delivery, there isn't a thing I'd change about him. If that means the occasional strop or red card so be it, his tenacity is what makes him exceptional at the press and confident enough to try to the sublime.

I wouldnt agree with poor discipline personally. He gets wiped out alot and opposition players dont get booked as soon as he makes a foul he seems to get booked which winds me up let alone him 🤣

I don’t have an issue with the benefit system becoming more focused, there are too many loopholes in the old system which was far too generous, there must now be a move to encourage the UK mentality to do the work, not rely on cheap foreign workers to the job, that’s what most brexiteers voted they didn’t want foreigners here taking their jobs, so now we have to change things to support the areas of seasonal work which needs workers, British workers!

Its swings and roundabouts. Our game management has been absolutely superb once ahead. Thats easier to do without fans in the ground demanding non stop entertainment. But equally, if youre drawing with ten minutes to go or losing 1-0, the fans can help generate that extra adrenaline to work that bit extra.
