Is this finally the treatment that turns COVID into a disease more like flu ? Let’s hope so it does not seem like it’s a trial. Germany will become the first country in the EU to use the same experimental drug which was credited with helping former US president Donald Trump recover from Covid. Health Minister Jens Spahn did not confirm the name of the drug manufacturer but said it was the same drug used on Mr Trump. The experimental antibodies treatment will help protect high-risk patients in the early stage against a serious deterioration, Spahn said. He told the Bild newspaper that the country had bought 200,000 doses and would start using it next week.

It'll blow their minds when they find out the vaccine we are using has been developed by two Turkish, Muslim, German immigrants.

Would rather we got Soto or Idah more game time than signed an unfit 37-year-old who couldn't get in the squad at Watford.

Pukki, Idah, Soto, Omotoye and Hugill is enough considering we only ever play one up front.

Well this is the decisive leadership people were looking for i guess! The 90% does have a basis in data and in theory so its not wrong to think it is probably about right. What is wrong is for people to assume that they are in the 90% rather than the 10%. Thats not great odds if the penalty for calling it wrong is death....

I'll never understand this barely disguised delight that a player who came through our academy, gave us his all and was sold for a very good price is struggling. Same with the Murphy's. Personally I feel sorry for Lewis right now and wish he was thriving. I'm sure in the right environment he will.

Holt, Morrison, Jackson and Martin - the trio that were moved on and replaced with Elmander, RVW and Hooper. Says it all doesn't it really. Jerome was a decent striker for us. Perhaps not as much depth. Pukki had Rhodes and Srbeny as back up last time in the Championship. I'm not sure about now. Maybe a loan. Might be we could loan Rhodes to the end of the season? Same age as Pukki, knows the league, did well for us last time. If needed. He's out of contract in the summer so could suit all parties.

@Pockthorpe @First Wazzock Thanks again for the extra and giving us so much to follow today. You were both really close to significantly adding to the pot. The bigger picture will show you did add because while we are here doing what we do so many pledges and donations happen. Far more than the wins. Great to have these threads, especially in these difficult times. You PUPs are awesome.

Just too many players with very few matches under their belts for weeks. Can't expect them to perform at top levels. Dowell was good pre-season, but will need games to get up to speed, and that clearly shows. Likewise Rupp was awesome before his injury, but looked rusty today. Hopefully this game will sharpen him up, as presumably he will be partnering Skipp in midfield next Saturday.

Hahaha they actually thought the club statement would be about Lambert leaving, that's hilarious 😂😂😂

For me it all stems from people being unwilling or unable to differentiate sex and gender. For me, gender is a social construct and as we progress it is great to see people breaking down the gender stereotypes and expectations that have held them back for so long. People can and should identify and be respected in whatever gender identity they choose. However this does not change your biological sex and sometimes sex has to trump gender- sports being a fairly clear example in my opinion. The Biden EO basically means college and high school sports can't discriminate on the lines of gender ID so from a practical standpoint a male bodied person could identify as a woman and then be allowed to compete in women's sports which is extremely unfair in my view. Disagree about the hashtag- I saw some fairly sensible people on it. It is, however, a classic example of where people with no real interest in the issue will highjack it to score political points. I don't believe for a second that someone like RTB actually cares that much about women's rights, just as I don't believe lots of the right wing commentators who leapt on the issue of anti semitism in Labour actually cared that much about Jewish people.

I have always advocated one Ireland WBB. Partition was never going to solve the real issue of the need for British colonialism to be pegged back. There is a geographical incentive for Scotland and Wales to be part of the UK as much as an economical one. One of the reasons I chose remain was the ludicrous ideas from Brexiteers that we should leave a union we had been in for forty years (bellyaching for a lot of it) because of sovereignty and the amount of money we pay in. Yet these people wanted us to retain the UK, denying the other nations sovereignty and subsidising their subjects far more than the English. Bizarre

Recently finished a wildlife pond on a clients land, it was a suck it and see project. Luckily we hit good quality clay about 40cm down, hence the plan expanded as we could pretty much guarantee it would hold water, it now measures approx 25mx20m....and max depth 2m , with shallow margins and varying depth. The reason I am posting this is that it filled during last weeks rain, froze over on Friday and the, client just messaged me to say two mallard rose off the pond when she came around the corner!! .....its alive.!!! We have plans to introduce local waterplants in the near future and a few brown trout once its settled in. Most critters will find their own way in, I'll post again on the subject as developments occur. The above photo was taken the day we finished digging and shaping. Ill post another of it brim full next time im over there.

Two players I always wanted at the club were Ben Gibson and Dwight Gayle. We got 1 out of 2!. Gayle would guarantee us promotion- he hardly gets a kick for Newcastle. He will score us goals and is an ideal lower Prem- top Championship striker. Promotion will get us huge amounts of money and it is by no means guaranteed currently. Wages I see would be the issue. Pukki needs some decent competition and we don’t convert enough chances. I don’t want it to cost us at the end of this season. The club needs to take a small risk occasionally.

While some might think we have all the jewels in the crown at our club, the fact is we haven't. Who out of squad would get into a regular starting position in the big clubs? Godfrey has because Everton have brought in a top coach and some top players. But in reality, I'm not sure even Emi would break into one of the top teams on a regular basis. So I think Jamal has gone to a club that is about his level. Newcastle, with a decent manager, are a mid to lower EPL club. I also think its the level for Todd and Max. Emi may have a chance at mid table and above. If Villa sold Grealish, I could see him fitting in there for example.

This was the truth. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/biden-sean-hannity-fox-news-b1791431.html Sean Hannity denounces Biden’s first week as ‘disastrous’ before the president completed a full day of work.

Biden had to find an intellectual level at which it was possible to communicate with Boris, that Boris could actually understand. So he engaged him in a game of "Simon says": this is the moment Biden said, "Stick your arm in the air with your thumb up like a prat". Boris lost!

The way they talk on there and bang on about their history, they seem to think they are some sort of footballing heavyweight, a giant club that people the world-over acknowledge and respect for things they did 50 years ago. They don't. Literally no one cares, even knows who they are or remembers those days half a century ago. No one gives a damn about them apart from their fans, and even then I wonder.

Spot on chicken, and I'm hoping players like Aaron's and Cantwell are looking at Lewis's plight and realising that staying here with a potential second crack at the prem impending in a team that loves you, where you're top dog in your position and are progressing well suddenly doesn't seem all that bad... I believe Lewis more than has the talent to be a premier League regular eventually, I just hope for his sake he didn't leap too soon and miss the chance to join a better club, like Godfrey managed

Depends on when Pukki is back, how far long with his recovery Idah is and how bad Hugill's injury is. Farke seemed to indicate that Pukki and maybe even Idah will be okay for next week so if that's correct the answer is 'no' at the moment.

Join us on Thursday 18th February at 7.30pm via Zoom for what is sure to be a fascinating evening. Tickets are £5 per household and include an online raffle ticket, all the money raised will go to the wonderful Community Sports Foundation. Born in Norwich and living his early life in Cromer it’s great to have a Norwich City fan feature so prominently in the media. Simon came to most people’s attention with a 6 year stint on one of everyone’s favourite childhood TV shows, Blue Peter. In 2005 Simon started a long spell at Sky Sports and soon became a mainstay, initially on Sky Sports News and then most notably on Saturday lunch time and bank holiday games. There he worked alongside all manner of footballing legends, including Graeme Souness, Jamie Redknapp and Thierry Henry, so we’re sure he’ll have a lot of interesting stories to tell. After tragic personal circumstances Simon left Sky Sports and is now the president of Blood Cancer UK. Since then Simon has become a prominent podcaster with series such as, “Life, Interrupted”, author, and began presenting football again with Amazon Prime Video Sport. Tickets can be purchased here http://www.ncfsc.co.uk/an-evening-with-simon-thomas-18th-february/

We won't sell all 3 of those young players. Happy to charity bet it too. Gibson we have the option on signing upon promotion no idea if its compulsory but unless significant injury issues that will happen too. I'm glad you think we will go up. You didn't seem to think Farke stood a chance a few months ago.

BBC Business reports that some container ships have stopped docking at Felixstowe but unload UK-bound containers at Antwerp to be trucked across by ferry and tunnel. This is apparently due to a bottleneck at Felixstowe caused by red tape; the container business depends on being in and out of most ports in less than 24 hours and that's not happening at present. A very large number of empty containers are waiting at Felixstowe to be returned to the far east, and the knock-on effect is that the cost of hiring a container has gone through the roof. They say that covid-related holdups are also a factor, but Brexit means that it's a double whammy for the UK.

Play the post, not the poster! 🙂 Yeah, it's a massive step from the Luxembourg league even to the Championship, let alone the Premier League. I know he said he was surprised to be loaned out, but if we go up it's highly unlikely he'll be part of a top-flight squad. A Championship loan would probably be the best idea.

He didn’t look out of place in the two friendlies I saw him in and I’m sure he was the one who assisted Hugills goal

No, which is why I'm not going to judge him yet

The decision is ultimately always political, faced with imperfect choices you have to be guided by your experts which on this occasion I believe is exactly what happened.
  38. 1 point
Indeed, he’s proved in several championship loans that he is very good at this level. I guess the question is whether he can develop into a Premier League player here.

My partner, my mate and myself put ourselves on the waiting list last January and by March had been informed that we were successful in getting all three although not together but all in the same block. We are hoping to get closer together at some point but at this moment in time will just be happy to get to use them.

He's punching above his weight and getting found out for it. That Toon bought him after he proved he wasn't cut-out for the premier league is on them.

Ben Godfrey is having fun, seems he is becoming bit of a cult player there. He is enjoying Ancelotti, one of the greatest coaches in the game, playing with the likes of James Rodriquez, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Calvert Lewin, Andre Gomes, Iwobi, Digne. But yeah some of our players are able to absolutely maximize their talents because the playstyle and players gel together so well. Reason Buendia gets a million assists is because after he wriggles past a defensive midfielder Pukki is always making a perfect run, which gives Buendia the opportunity to relatively easily utilize his skillful passing and put Teemu in on goal. And for Pukki having Buendia behind him is what made him a name to be feared in the English game. Coutinho was a superstar before he went to Barca. Those creative attacking midfielders need specific circumstances to succeed. Our players are like pieces in a delicate swiss watch, it cant be guaranteed that the parts will work as well in another watch

In my opinion we've been short a striker since Grant Holt left. We've had some great attackers since then, but always lacked a decent third choice. We were incredibly lucky that our midfield were so prolific and Pukki stayed fit two years ago. Our first three choices are currently injured, hopefully not for too long. Even if all three were fit, I still believe we need another pacy attacker that fits our system a little better.

Have to be forgiving of the disjointed attacking play- three attacking midfielders who haven't played together and all coming back from injury. Saying that I dont think any of them exactly gave Farke a decision to make next weekend.
