Wouldn’t look too much into it, the lad took 25 years to make up his mind if he’s Scottish or not.

Yes you can't defy it forever but they have, y'know, denied it for significantly longer than we have, while winning the league, the FA Cup, playing in the Champions League. All you're illustrating by saying we're similar sized clubs is how much better this similar sized club has done than we have.

Sorry, you'll have to be more specific!

Really admire all the posters still having a go at Delia and Michael for not selling the club when they are actually and currently in the process of selling the club, having done what seems like very serious due diligence into the purchasers, as befits the stewards of a city and county institution. Very strong work, everyone. It'll be a challenge for you to continue blaming them when the Attanasios have taken over, but I have faith that you can rise to that challenge. Never mind the danger.

It’s time the chants were audible each game. The guy needs to be forced out the club.

Webber has spunked our money to the wall. Farke always wanted to be a sporting director so let’s beg him to come back!

I will forgive Onel because he’s been generally very good under Wagner. Marquenos however has done nothing since his first game and has been a waste of a loan signing.

Surely the point of this post is not look what they've achieved but rather that there is no such thing as established in the PL (bar the top 6ish). Despite all they've achieved over the last ten years, one bad appointment and down they come...

They are going down (hopefully) because a certain manager (on £200,000 a week) couldn’t get a tune out of a very good squad of players this season. Forget winning a Premier League title or a cup of any description. Most Norwich fans would be happy if a manager was finally backed properly and actually put up a fight of staying in that league.

Yep, I was involved when the probation service was split to try and mirror the NHS with a purchaser and provider split where offender management and accredited programs were essentially provided by the same staff but were taken out of the.service. Simplistically they were set up as contractors who would bid against other established companies such as G4S. The view seemed to be that you could privatise any public service. Sadly the drive to cut costs and win contacts with low bids can only end up with one conclusion.

I'm not sure how a party could evidence that they have repented for the corruption during its last period in office, having not been in government for 13 years. But can we stop pretending that they are both as bad as each other? I'm not going to defend the outrageous and egregious behaviour that festered under Tony Blair's New Labour. Look at one of its chief proponents, Peter Mandelson; how many times did he resign but come crawling back to a position of influence? But what we've seen from the last 13 years of Tory government is turbocharged corruption. They used a pandemic to feather the nests of friends and contacts. People in West Norfolk are understandably very het up about the state of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital that's currently held up by scaffolding. It could have been replaced a dozen times over by the amount of Tory government facilitated vanishing from public money during Covid. And it's done so brazenly now as well. Look at the privatisation of the Royal Mail. They didn't even make any serious effort to try and hide it. Sell a public asset to their mates on the cheap so that within just DAYS they are making handsome returns. New Labour and the Tories were/are both corrupt only in the same way that Wrexham and Man City are both football clubs. Worlds apart.

I'm sure it's been said somewhere on this thread already, but supporting Norwich is all about the memories. And the good stuff is so much better due to enduring the dross we've too frequently had to put up with this season. So I'm absolutely desperate for us to make the playoffs and get to Wembley. Even the 01/02 campaign lives clearly in my memory. If we get there, win, get promoted and get hammered, it won't take anything away from the experience of being in and winning the playoffs. And you never know what might happen next season. They say you learn from your mistakes and if that is the case, in terms of player recruitment, Webber must be one of the most learned Sporting Directors out there. He could pull a Buendia, Pukki and Skipp out of the hat and, god forbid, actually buy a CB or two. It's the hope that kills you. But it's the disappointment that makes promotions, titles and playoff campaigns all that more enjoyable, regardless of what the future might be after them.

Fortunately, we are still in a position where it is in our own hands. Unfortunately, some people seem resolutely hell-bent on seeing the glass half-empty at all times. Certainly, we don't expect everyone to share the same perspective, that would be ludicrous. Keeping positive, however, may just make the difference when it comes to the quick. I still believe, despite everything that's happened this season, that we still have a chance. Norwich are still, despite everything, the true Pride of East Anglia. Great to bear that in mind, despite our travails. With that, we should all summon up our courage and make one last push. And hopefully we can look back on this season as one where, despite our problems, we still got our holy grail. Norwich, back in the Premier League. Kings of getting promoted from the Championship. 😉

We've sacked two managers in 2 seasons for not progressing. And 3rd manager is struggling to get a tune out of this squad. And yet one man has been solely responsible for recruitment, which has been utterly appalling. Surely on those grounds alone Webber should be sacked!

When is a club considered established in the PL ? I'm sure Leicester thought they were. They may well survive and if not they'll surely be a ' top 26 ' club in the long term but the Leicester fans must wonder how they've ended up here. I agree that in our case being brutally destroyed in two consecutive PL stints has done nothing for the confidence of fans and even theplayers. It's understandable that people are expecting it to happen again on our next visit but if we'd been closer to the pack points-wise our prospects wouldn't feel so gloomy.

Thanks for these mr Apples and thanks for the extra selections. I love what you've done, we will certainly get something and if one of the bigger odds happens we will certainly get a lot! Doesn't make sense to me and I hope I've got this right. *** They removed BTTS because it adds nothing to the odds. Let's hope we're celebrating a PUPs win and a City win tonight. Good luck Graham and of course our beloved Canaries...

That is correct. I think the main problems are what happens after release from prison and the interface with the probation service. Mental health issues used to be routinely explored as part of a package. The cuts to probation (and increasingly contracted out to the likes of Serco, G4S and a few other 'primes') meant that the quality in after care vastly declined. It became all about numbers. It became about profit maximisation for contractors. Chris Grayling had a big hand in that. Say no more. Some things should not be nationalised because of the consequences. Sad story to read.

“my immediate thought was whether enough care is taken regarding the mental health of perpetrators of crimes upon release from prison” and “Do perpetrators of accidental crimes like this get any sort of counselling in prison?” You're taking the p1ss, yes? As far as the Tories are concerned anyone in prison (unless it’s for a financial crime which they’d probably try and recategorise an “entrepreneurial “) is a filthy criminal and the key should be thrown away. They’ve decimated parole services, social services, public housing and anything else which might help lessen the prevalence of crime and the likelihood of reoffending. Michael Howard once made a famous speech about how “prison works”. The evidence shows the opposite, investing in community punishment, rehabilitation and training is far more effective and less expensive. But that doesn’t allow you to grandstand at political conferences and get fawning articles published about you in the Mail and Telegraph.

Yeh whatever Rocky. It wasn't my money or tax payers money or UK money. It was funding, sourced competitively, most of it European. Bit awkward there for you. I haven't "admitted" anything either - simply that I always wanted to re-invest surpluses. Surpluses that had been made. The best businesses make profits. The best managers lead that. It's fine that you think of me as everything that's wrong with our country but you don't know me. And saying stuff like you do and your general abusive posts say far more about you than me. You've learnt very little for all your experience and clearly you are intelligent. You should use that to try and understand other people and engage with posters.
