Just thought I'd start a thread to share the love for everyone's favourite Cuban export. I still think he has a part to play here, and I'd love to see him sign a contract extension. Such a positive and heart-warming bloke, and vital to the Norwich economy too (especially the catalogue retail division). We love you Onel!

If they want to reward loyalty why not give a small % discount for every year you've been a season ticket holder. Even if it kicks in after say 10 years and is capped. Age is irrelevant really. Everyone's circumstances differ.
  3. 5 points
Surprised it only finished 1-0, with these possession statistics.

While true, the families now consist of 2 parents who both work full time to keep a roof over the heads of themselves and their kids. Like most economic issues in this country you can point the finger of blame squarely at the housing market and the failure of wages to keep pace.

That's a shame because everybody else does.

I'd probably delete the bit about Andrew Tate if I were you. It's bang out of order for starters, but potentially damaging to Chris and therefore prosecutable. Andrew Tate is absolute scum if the allegations etc are proven to be correct. He's an incel and a misogynist for starters, and that's just what he says about himself. Should the sex trafficking of underage girls and vulnerably women be true... then he is also a paedophile and sex offender. Add that to the incel & misogyny then you have a very calculated, very dangerous, vile piece of cr@p. Where as you just don't like Chris Reeve. Huge jump off the deep end that makes you look worse, not Chris IMHO.

Try going to the loo at the bottom of the garden on a freezing morning, having a bath in front of a coal fire then having to empty it outside, no mobile phones, no internet, no Sky etc etc Having lived through that lot I enjoy my over 65 discount.

Must admit I did think of replying simply with the word "Brexit" when Foxy asked on the nature thread why there has been such an "absence of song birds in his half acre garden". But even that, though funny for me, was maybe a step too far. So I held back 😂

Maybe we should cut one of his legs off and count the rings, settle the argument once and for all.

That was a cracking end to the season. Particularly Hillsborough on the last day

The problem has its roots buried in decisions years ago to start closing intermediate care facilities, selling the land and building houses on it. The whole policy revolved around a promise that more money would go into care in the community so that patients could receive care in their own homes, inevitably of course the money was grabbed but the new funding promised never delivered.

I don’t ‘expect’ that we will be auto promo. But I don’t think it’s out of the question. Games are less must win and more probably should win when you match us up against the other teams in the league. Turn losses v the top 10 into 50/50 wins snd draes and mop up the rest and we are not looking a million miles off. If we don’t get there then it is what it is. No waning support from me and I’ll be going full blooded into what might become a Wembley visit.

He had his moments and let's face it, Sinani was a cheap punt from an unheralded league in the hope Farke could get more out of him. Hardly cost us much, provided a few decent moments, but ultimately fell a shade short. Best of luck to him if this is his last time with us.

On NODGE CITY- A FIFA STORY. I told you. The only Norwich City content creator to feature Wagner twice, and in 7 days.

Yeah, my bad. In my haste I had tried to find a date that he had originally joined. I could only find 2020. So if he signed when he was 16, then superb. Also Rowe is back in full training with the squad, so isn't "injured".

Not every 80 year old plus is rolling in money Walk through Norwich any day and the dozens of Coffee Bars, fast food shops, restaurants etc are full of 20’s to 40 year old Won’t see many pensioners sitting there paying £10 for a coffee and a sandwich Like many on here I’ve worked from age 15 and paid taxes etc and never claimed a penny from social unlike many season ticket holders who know how to work the system Nice that NCFC give up a small discount PS Would still go to CR even if they didn’t but would have to stop buying 3 bottles of Brandy a week

And got soaking wet when it rained. Great fun when I was that age but wouldn't be able to hack it now. I would love to be able to transport back to the 1950's some of those who think life was so great then. They would be in for a real shock. As for those who have worked to get themselves into a reasonably comfortable position when they retired, I think most have probably earned it the hard way, I know I have.

The issue is that the problem - as I see it - is actually two things. 1) Predatory men and 2) the patriarchy. It’s predatory men who make putting trans women into women’s prisons difficult and it’s the patriarchy that means everyone is very much not equal regardless of gender, whether assigned at birth or chosen later. Until we fix those, ignoring gender, while a laudable aim, just isn’t going to work in practice. (Biology also plays a part of course, but that’s even harder to fix) I do think it’s ironic that some people who are born as men seem to be the ones who think they are entitled to behave exactly as they like i.e. as a woman. Despite wanting to be treated like a woman they appear to have very little understanding of the idea of sisterhood and standing with their “fellow” women. Precisely because they have benefitted from growing up as a man, they have no experience of the challenges that simply being female creates. Those who have always been women (and those who listen to the experiences of women) understand why there is a need for truly single sex spaces, and separate categories for women in things like music awards (are you listening Sam Smith?). Why don’t we hear protests from trans men? Partly because they are joining a privileged group, so gaining. Trans activists protest when they come up against women who don’t want to lose a few hard won protections but don’t acknowledge why those protections are in place.

Yup agreed. I think on a purely practical basis the real question is does the prison have communal showers, facilities etc. This in reality then determines for me how we should gender the prisoner simply by their physical attributes (whatever their own internal orientation). However, I'm far from convinced that actually makes the prison any safer!

Are you sure about this? All three of Ramsay's goals came from Pukki, couple of rebounds from saves, then that beautiful bit of interchange for his second goal against Stoke. And we should know better than to judge our players on their Dean Smith performances, I do wonder how good he'd look in a Wagner team. I thought Ramsay worked quite well with Pukki personally. Ramsay's numbers were pretty impressive, 3 goals and 3 assists in 1038 minutes of football. For me it was his defensive naivety, and didn't work hard enough at his pressing, left us in a few difficult situations by dragging another player out of midfield to do the pressing that he should have been doing. Overall I think he's a player with a lot of potential. If he pressed like Sargent he'd be a top top player.

In part two I'd add Union- 'We want 10%!' Government- 'We'll give you 3% but you also have to agree to a bunch of cuts in your benefits, extra hours and we want to make 20% of the workforce redundant.' Union- 'No' Government- 'well we offered them more money, the greedy ****s.'

The reasons for those discounts are completely different. A 65 year old is statistically far more likely to be able to afford their own season ticket than a 15 year old. I'd wager they are more than likely able to afford a fully priced season ticket in comparison to anyone under the age of 30 as well.

Yes let’s repeat all the arguments we had last year and the year before. Or perhaps you could just look at the previous thread. The idea that most OAP’s are rolling in it is frankly ridiculous. Also I don’t recall cheap under 21 tickets when many of us were that age. You either have one price for everybody including children ( remember when Hull tried that!) or a range of discounts which is what happens throughout the leisure industry. Why for example should people who choose to have children have the seats cross subsidised by those who don’t?

Before it gets mentioned please don't think rail seats and safe standing increases capacity because it does not.

Have to say I really enjoyed watching this. DW comes across incredibly well, is very likeable, and as mentioned above, is very humble. I loved his honesty and the straightforward way he says things. He had numerous opportunities to give pandering soundbites to some of the questions but didn't take any of them, just gave a genuine response. Clearly very driven and focused on what he wants to achieve. I'm incredibly optimistic about the future with him at the wheel, exactly the kind of guy I want managing Norwich City. I think we're in for a really exciting time over the next few seasons.

Sinani has done enough to set himself up for a good few years playing in the mid-lower reaches of the Championship which is a huge step up from the Luxembourg league so this move has been a big success for him really. Re Rashica- the situation is very different there. He's 18 months into a 4 year deal and playing well out on loan so not somebody we're happy just to get off the books for the first offer. If Gala didn't make an offer to sign him permanently this January then it makes sense to wait until the summer and see. If he continues to play well it may be that two or three clubs take an interest and we can get our money back. Cantwell, Hugill and Sinani were all players we weren't going to play and weren't going to keep past the end of the season so it makes sense to get what we can now.
  47. 2 points
That's what people said in 1982. Martin O'Neil decided differently and we won 13 games on the bounce and went up. We were 13th when he signed.
  48. 2 points
But we terminated his loan on 3rd January on the basis that he'd just had surgery on a "serious knee injury" and would be returning to Aston Villa to complete his rehabilitation. It definitely feels like we weren't told the whole truth here.
  49. 2 points
Anyone calling him a snake needs to wind their necks in. He isn’t a NCFC player, he was on loan as part of his career development and did an ok job with us. If he is being told that he has no playing time for villa, assuming he wasn’t part of Wagner’s plans and was tempted to us because of the Smith connection, all of which are very plausible and logical, then going out on loan to as high as he can makes complete sense. Boro is probably about right. I’m not that (at all) bothered because he was hardly prolific and without him we’ve played the best football we have had all season. Obviously more down to Wagner arriving (Smith leaving) than AJ being injured. Good luck to him, hope he does ok but also we need to look at ourselves if we are afraid to take on Middlesbrough just because they’ve acquired Aaron Ramsey.
