Talksport is dreadful. Amazed anyone listens to it.

He is one strange, hate filled man. If there's one thing the Queens death has done is really expose some rather nasty people.

Having recovered from an injury he is likely to be in the Bristol City squad on Wednesday night. We never did get to say a proper goodbye which he deserved so here is our chance hopefully.

She wasn't being disrespectful to the queen or the mourning. She was simply protesting Charles getting the crown. People should be allowed to show dissent.

If we're winning by 53% then we're winning 76.5% to 23.5%. That's almost the same as our aggregate score over the last 20 years!

Two recent posts on Liverpool, one direct and one with a switched focus onto it. Lazy and poor characterisations of a whole city and everyone living there by association? An example of Labelling theory if ever there was one? Narrow-minded? Or none of these but posts from people who have an inside track on the psychology and history of the place? People who have ancestry there? People who have studied there and lived there for many years understanding the communities? You choose I guess. I get dismayed at how some people's attitudes are formed, narrowly focussing on one aspect and ignoring anything else. Blind as it were. Bradford gets a bad press too. I've lived here for 40 plus years and don't pretend I know everything. But I know some things after all that time. There's a lot wrong. A lot of social problems and cultural challenges. I've worked for over 40 years too in service related occupations, the kind that get you close to understanding a culture, what people think. But read the occasional tabloid and you're not far away from a stereotype. Yet, there are great things about its people and the place. It's cheap to label things, cities, people. Life is far more complex. To actually think Liverpool fans might boo the national album in the week of the Queen dying? Really? Would they? To actually think that and believe that as a basis for a world view? To use that belief and then amplify that belief on what might happen? To think that there are no royalists in Liverpool? To think that if a stupid few did boo that other Liverpool families wouldn't be outraged and ashamed? This is the kind of thinking that divides people. As Keelansgrandad intimates, silence is often very useful. Interesting that silent is an anagram of listen. Maybe people need to do more of both... instead of cheap characterisations on things they probably don't know very about in much depth. It's like Bradford being the butt of music hall jokes. Or cheap jibes about the French and frogs. Or Norfolk/ Suffolk inbreds And so on. I have no affiliation whatsoever to Liverpool. It's a city with an interesting history . Cities are complex places and we can't begin to know about places until we spent a long time living or studying in them. We ought to enquire and be more curious about why some things happen - instead of being so judgemental. Just my take. Sorry if this is long and a rant. I really dislike labelling of any kind. I don't think it adds to understanding of much but closes off a debate or an argument. It doesn't help people work out any differences they have or why.

I don’t really understand what all this means but does it matter ? The internet is full of weirdos so if it really bothers you either close your account or be careful what you reveal about yourself. I almost never mention in any detail anything about my family and only vague details about myself on here. It amazes me how many people post things about their families, sometimes with images. What could possibly go wrong ? Plenty.

Being brutally honest... He is a fantastic human being and one that no doubt helped behind the scenes and was another that was said to be good with the younger players. However, in terms of on the pitch, I don't think we ever really saw that £8m investment. He looked good when we first signed him, and at times he looked like he had some class. Injuries probably robbed him of that consistency that would have justified the outlay. Not his fault perhaps.

Think there is talk of him buying cov coincidentally. Also, Cundy and Goldstein during the world cup couple years ago was gold. Anyone heard of klobby??

Seeing as the current board is being very discrete about significant financial reengineering of the club it is unlikely they would have anything they are willing to share at this point. As for the Crouch report, to mix metaphors it is already dead in the water and gathering dust on the shelf. This needs legislation and I can't see a small government anti-regulation Truss government having the time or the inclination to do anything in this area.

True, but the possibility of Fans not respecting the National Anthem or minutes silence is a much juicier story ... whether it was likely or not. TBF to all I think they didn't think this through at all. They decided in haste and can now regret at their leisure. Monumental balls up if you ask me, but of course , no one did. The thing that Pi55ed me off the most is that I had a really pleasant Friday evening planned, finish work walk dog , collect my fish n chips , sit down ,watch us play a decent footballing side for a change and sink a couple of Staros while I did so. The walk, the beer, and the fish n chips happened, unfortunately the sauce that should have brought all this together.... The footy , didn't. Booooo !!!

Feeling quite relaxed about mid-long term energy supply now. Fusion does seem to be (finally) making genuine progress &, possibly even better, it has led to plasma drilling becoming viable, which means geothermal energy becoming widespread. My only fear is politicians/NewWorldOrder kiboshing them.

What I find interesting about comments like this is that so many people are scandalised by people who would boo the national anthem, but don't seem to wish to ask why an area (however broad brush that statement was) have no real attachment to this countries institutions or feel cut off enough to disdain it.

About to possibly get the sack from Talksport after his tweet about the Queens death a couple of days ago! Refusing to answer the phone apparently and deleted his Twitter account after getting so much abuse about the Tweet, which was basically accusing the Queen of being racist 😡

If he had stayed fit for the rest of the 2015/16 season we may have been able to stay up, as he did look good but alas he got seriously injured against palace if I remember.

It's a really hard call to make, because you have got very upset and passionate people there - Don't know if you've watched much of the coverage but I didn't realise there were so many staunch royalists around to be honest. And in that context, I can see how that sign could spark some outrage, within what should be a moment of mourning... Although that's odd, as it's a kinda two-way mourning/celebration thing going on. But like you say, she's just expressing her view. A larger space between My and King wouldn't have gone amiss, that's the most upsetting part for me!

One of my favourite quotes: "“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.” - CS Lewis

I suppose that is one way of avoiding apologizing for an earlier paragraph of your which contained not one but two basic errors. Essex didn’t abstain and this person’s vote had nothing to do with their membership of the Trust.

The risk in the situation is that their protest will incite a violent backlash against them. The easiest way to diffuse that and to keep the peace is to remove the protestor to prevent a disturbance and for their safety.

It was a good political move by Starmer and gave people the impression that the energy companies profits would pay their bills. When you look at the numbers you see that this is not possible but most people don't look at the numbers and just hear the soundbites. A good move by Starmer votewise but thats all it is.

It's easy to forget is the pressure that people like Trevor Sinclair are, when there's a weight of waving the flag for a section of people they represent - who mainly go unrepresented in mainstream media. And this can overspill into really poor misjudged moments like this. Anthony Joshua has done similar in the past. There's ridiculous pressure to represent certain areas of the community and so much guilt is laid on them in order to respond publicly. In one ear you're being called a sell-out and traitor, and in the other ear you're being told to play the game. Rock and a hard place springs to mind. Not sure what to make of what he's said, and whether it should be up for a serious debate rather than him thrown out the door. Same with the fear of certain supporters boo'ing the national anthem and that playing a part of the football being cancelled. Should we be pulling that apart and understanding why? ....Or do we just call them idiots and move on? I just don't know the answers. But I do sympathise with minorities who feel unrepresented, even if I can't relate or understand it.

I'd probably agree. Fine line though between a regime that fairly shares the windfall and one that makes the UK a bad bet for investment.

I admire your take on freedom of speech, but at the same time, saying something so venomously poor taste about someone who spent their whole life in service to the country and whom has just died, needs to be called out. It’s an illogical accusation and effectively slander. I think that Mr Sinclair possibly has a drink/substance problem, that seems to cloud his mind and judgement (hence his previous arrest). I hope he seeks the right help and sees the light.

As Rashica is now on loan too, I’m going to give £1 for each league goal or assist he gets for Galatasary. So far, I think the total is £8: Sargent 5 goals, 1 assist; Rashica 1assist; Tzolis 1 goal.

Rangers champions league match at home has been moved from Tuesday to Wednesday this week UEFA stating "due to the severe limitations on police resources and organisational issues related to the ongoing events surrounding the national mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II". Away fans are also banned. So thats getting police in place for Sunday Morning(from Balmoral/Aberdeenshire) to Tuesday Evening(Leaves for London). I think all they need to do is move all games to Saturday maybe ban away fans and postpone London games. Sounds reasonable.

100% this. We tried to be clever and it backfired massively. Instead of investing sensibly on experienced players with no resale value, we’ve invested badly (and lost significant sums) on young players with no resale value. And before anyone jumps down my throat, Rashisca, Tzolis and Sargent would all have been sold had anyone been interested in buying.

Yeah, they have. It's followed on because they still want to say he was a rubbish player... and for some, once you're rubbish, you're rubbish... However, point stands. You can't really argue that if Smith was any good he should be being ripped out of are hands instead of Martin if you are saying Martin is also cack - that's the point. Suddenly Martin must be good because in some twisted way, it suits todays argument that Smith isn't. Just like Smith isn't as good as Farke despite the same people saying that we have a far weaker squad than the one Farke had in the last Championship campaign... logic, doesn't like some folks does it? I would suggest that if Brighton are interested in Martin it's likely to be because he would fit several criteria. The main one being he is at a club that is likely to part with him for a reasonable about. Others will be that he is young, will accept goals and targets that better coaches may not accept. I don't see Brighton being massively different to us, they've sold players on, brought new players in to develop etc. People say they will want a better coach to kick them on... I'm not sure what that means. They are not realistically going to break into the top 6, so finishing above tenth is their main aim. Yet he'll also be ambitious and enthusiastic. Am I convinced he is there yet? No. But who knows?
