Buendia wasn't overpriced, this idea he hasn't done well at Villa does my head in. Gerrard, who is an idiot, had no idea how to use him and thus is reduced to managing in Saudi Arabia. Emery, a competent manager, made him a key part of his team who finished comfortably top half last season.

I am told Rob Butler has announced Chris Goreham will not be presenting the Scrimmage on Radio Norfolk this season and his replacement will be Chris Reeve. It is at such a time i am so glad that i do not listen to it.

Mumba is a wing back by both his own and Wagner's admission. We dont play with wing backs. He was decent, if sporadic in a top team in the league below. He wasnt going to start here, he wanted to leave, we have better. Time to move on. He will have a decent career in a position we dont play with and will progress much quicker/further as he will be playing regularly, rather than sitting on our bench. Looking back in a few months wont really tell us much.

They didn't actually need to say anything. That was the mistake of the CEO. If Farage then got hold of the banks internal profile of him and published it so what? It wouldn't have been the bank that did anything wrong! Simply it's Farage playing the victim to his base with the derelict Tories grasping at straws for base political ends. What a basket case this country has become.

" hate on him " How old are you, 9 ? People are merely stating they think he will not be as good as the previous incumbent. Which is an opinion. Something he will be expressing every broadcast. I see NO expressions of hate in that.

He’d have given Jesus a D for not feeding more people with the loaves and fishes and a D- when the wine he produced from water wasn’t a vintage Premier Cru Chablis.

The trouble is we need professional footballers not workmen. They're not digging up the road (I hope).

Are you citing Sainz being worse than Cantwell? Even though Cantwell didn't leave this window? And, that they don't even play in the same position? Wow. Just wow...

And yet you follow Norwich. We all know that quality isn't the be all and end all, if we didn't know that, we wouldn't be Norwich fans. We'd spend our time watching Man City or Real Madrid. But it's about being invested in something, that's what makes it more entertaining. It's why I regularly here parents of the grassroots team I coach say how much more they enjoy watching kids football than professional football. And if Norwich played my U10s (soon to be U11s), they'd put up a cricket score. Yet no one would be so stupid as to compare the two because of the physical advantages the men enjoy. And yet here we are when women's football is brought up. I am significantly more invested in the Lionesses than England Men. And anyone who watches a Weigman team and then a Southgate team and turns around and says that the men were more entertaining doesn't really understand football. And the women are just much more likeable human beings, far more relatable than the likes of Maguire, Grealish and Mount. They would never do it, but if the England Men and the England Women played their matches at the same time, I would watch the England Women ten times out of time. That the Men would win 50-0 if they played the Women is absolutely irrelevant. And it's bizarre to see the people who seem to enjoy needlessly lambasting women's football say things like, "They're rubbish compared to the men, but it's different in Tennis, I enjoy women's Tennis", as if Iga Swiatek wouldn't get as trounced by Novak Djokovic as the England Women would get trounced by the England Men. She would lose 6-0 6-0 and you'd need one hand to keep track of how many points she would win in the entire match. I genuinely don't care if people don't see the women's game in the same way I do. The only time I get mildly riled is by the fact that every time, literally every time, a forum or tweet or Facebook post gets created about Women's football, as sure as night follows day a man will come along and say how **** it is. Why? It doesn't happen in other spheres. Look at The Ashes thread on here; I'm certain there are people on the PinkUn who can't stand cricket but they don't see a thread titled "The Ashes" and think, "I know, I should go in there and say how **** cricket is". But when it comes to Women's Football, these people that the PaddyPower advert above have skewered cannot help it, they're like flies around ****. They have to say how crap they find it. It's bizarre. Really, really bizarre. I'm no psychologist, but I'd wager there is misogyny at play somewhere, even if it many cases it is unconscious. I loved the Women's Euros, I'm loving the World Cup. I'm loving that my son wanted a shirt with "Hemp" on the back and I'm loving how much better a role model she is than **** like Ronaldo. And the quality is great and entertainment value even better if you are able to rid yourself of the patriarchal perspective that has deeply-embedded itself within. And if you can't? Fine, you don't have to like it. Just shut the **** up and let other people like it; no one needs to know whether you think it's rubbish. And if you have some burning desire to let people know you think it's rubbish, ask yourself why, because it's a weird urge to be harbouring.

Not sure if Buendia is overpriced...but Lewis and Godfrey were part of a championship winning team that still let 55 goals in. Lewis has clearly been found out at newcastle/premier league level. Godfrey was never a good defender

There are over 100 billion stars in our Galaxy. And there are over 100 billion Galaxies that have been identified so far, and our Galaxy is not unusually big. So, the idea that there is no other "intelligent" life anywhere out there is just ridiculous to me. But, the distances are so vast that if life is rare, then it may just be really unusual for it to be able reach out from one star to another, and the chances of that happening while we as humans can spot it may just be incredibly low.

Hang on, you said 16th the other day? I think that’s called hedging your bets - I dare say you’ll come up with 8th somewhere else so you have more bases covered. Edit, I never gave my reply - somewhere in the range 5th-8th. Either just inside or outside the playoffs.

I am a negative person. You will not be shocked to read that if you have read one of my posts in the last twelve months. I need to say the following: The 40 minutes we had last night in the third period are the most exciting signs I've seen since the Coventry game, despite the youthful Toulouse side we were up against. We had creativity, nous, flair and accuracy with what we were trying to do. It left me thinking that with Sara, Nunez and most interestingly, Tzolis (cutting in from the left to fill the half space pockets and positively impact the game) we might be on to something, I hope they don't sell Tzolis - I'm convinced there is a player in there. We look as if we should be as defensively solid as any Norwich side I can remember in recent history. I alluded to in the match thread. Not many Championship clubs would baulk at the idea of Duffy, Gibson and Hanley being the senior centre backs in the squad. Kellen Fisher is giving off serious 18/19 Max Aarons vibes and looks oven ready. Sargent will score goals IF he has enough chances created for him. He is a decent finisher - not on the Teemu level but he will score different goals - accurate, meaningful crossing is a must. I really, desperately want Adam Idah to do well. I hope one goes in off his **** against Hull and he goes on to score 20. If Aarons, Rashica and Omobamidele do leave - we will re-invest and dare I say be stronger for it (if our boy Stu spends it well...this window looks to be one of his hits so far - to his credit). Again, I am a negative person - no problems admitting that. But, I'm willing to give everyone a chance. I do fear the cauldron of Carrow Road is ready to bubble over and a few setbacks early doors should see to that. But this gobby internet mouth will try his hardest not to be a bubbler. Never mind the f'ing danger. Captain -------------- @littleyellowbirdie @hogesar From where can I collect my badge?

It's getting to the point where we need to start thinking about changing the locks. That Sara has been as useless and equally hates us as much as Webber, and let's not discuss how crap Fisher, Duffy, Barnes, Fassnacht and Stacey have been pre-season, I bet they spit on the badge behind closed doors. Honestly, at this point I don't know what to do with myself other than type out really negative posts on the internet about it all. I really don't trust that sky above my head either, while we're venting.

Given Webber’s recent record and his clear disdain and disrespect for the club, the owners and women’s football - not to mention the lack of 100% commitment - it’s probably for the best that he doesn’t oversee any further transactions that will drag us deeper into the mire. The next AGM will be box office if he’s still here, Antenastiasio hasn’t stuck any money in and we’re, as I suspect we will be, hovering around the bottom 3. Can anyone honestly pick 3 worse sides than us? Honestly? Maybe Coventry as one. I’d have said Plymouth but even they’re poaching our best talent. And Webber had the audacity to say his predecessor had excreted urine up the wall.

That approach went terrible for Burnley, of course. Leeds and Southampton both getting possession based coaches in too, if you've got funds for the better players, we all know that you can walk the league with that combo.

C minus from me I think we have regressed not progressed overall. Barnes < Pukki Sainz < Toddy stacey < Aarons (he will go) fisher < Mumba but Reyes > McGovern Duffy > Byram

Being called a fullback by Wagner seems to be a one way ticket out the club, as per Mumba. Placheta is no more a Championship fullback than I am.

Brief update. Met in Prague (April), Riga (May) and Torshavn (June). Decided after Torshavn that the stop-start nature of things was a bit irritating and a longer period together was needed. Decided to book flights to Germany and spent nearly four weeks there living with her, coming back four days ago. We definitely think something's there. It makes far more sense for me to move over to Germany than for her to come over here (especially as she's going to be working on a locum basis) but we both still kind of want our own places as we've both been single for that long. It means I'll have to save up a fair bit to get a move to Germany to stick but in terms of working there as a freelancer I should be fine. There's an easy, short-termist way of financing it and a tough, more sustainable long-term approach. I would prefer the latter, but we will see.

Agreed. We're still signing the speculative youngsters (Fisher, Forsyth) but trying to use the bulk of our budget on making us as competitive as possible now. I think that by capturing Maddison and Buendía in pretty quick succession, many of our fans have unrealistic expectations of how good that 'model' can be; those were two generational talents, and if we unearth another one like that in the next decade it'd be a huge bonus. I am actually rather confident about this season; my main concern is not having a 20+ goalscorer to replace Pukki. Hopefully Sarge will step up, but neither Barnes nor Idah are that player. Having quality players is one thing; having an astute tactical setup is another. However, the 'secret sauce' is in having players that are of a sufficient quality to successfully play a clearly defined system (a la Farke and Lambert). With Deano there seemed to be no discernible plan, the players didn't seem especially fit or motivated. Wagner is clearly signing players to play an energetic high-press system, and while I don't think we're in HMS P*ss The League territory, I'd be disappointed if we were outside the top six.
