That's a much better effort than CanaryKing's. What about: "Man Utd player breaks down in tears after love length comes up short compared to Portuguese Penises." or "Tw*ts in red refused hugs by locals while colleague checks grass for missing eye ball." or "Man Utd player b*ggered on pitch by Portuguese sex ring." or "Simply C*nts." It's not very catchy as captions go CanaryKing. Accurate but a tad dull. OTBC

I disagree. For me it spoils a game whether I'm there or watching it on tv. If match officials are gonna make a mistake I'd rather they did it in real time rather than take minutes to do it.

Personally I would like to see a Championship side being developed that would have a better chance of PL survival rather than what we have seen/are seeing. The ability to grind out results when playing better teams (on paper). We have started to see that under S and S. If that takes a couple of years or so - so what. Its better than this up and down bulls**t

Putin will get away with it. It will all eventually go quiet and as long as the gas keeps flowing nobody in Europe will do fcuk all. Lots of big talk but business as usual and don't frighten the horses.

The real problem with VAR is that it renders reform of the Laws of Football, and indeed as a result, grassroots refereeing, a different sport to what is played by the professionals. Trying to apply the current offside law as it now stands when referees are often without club assistants is pretty much a lottery, or the referee is considerably faster than the players under his/her control. I really do think the latest round of changes to the offside rule were made thinking "oh, VAR will sort out the most minor cases", without realising that borderline offsides in Sunday league football can often cause quite a bit of irritation!

There is no chance Williams joins us permanently and very little that Normann does if we go down. Reportedly we had agreed an optional fee of around £11m for Normann, there is little to no chance we're spending that on a single player in the Championship. Purple is usually a sensible poster but that post is bizarrely off base.

In truth we are seeing all the negatives of social media. It has allowed via misinformation 'niche' political views to appear mainstream, gather strength and become polarizing - and most easily exploited in a race to the bottom by populists. It is a clear exploitable weakness in any democracy that those that 'vote' can be today so easily misinformed and misled. You can see it at play on these very pages. As to your general point about the West's 'lack of action' as you know I'm socially left of centre (Blairite I suppose) but I believe in standing up to bullies. We should not of left Afghanistan (or not until it was fully stable) and the issues today with Putin stem from not taking sterner actions earlier in his other expansionist adventures. With a bully if you give an inch they take a mile. It's often easier to turn a blind eye but it does you no good in the long run. That penny may have just dropped

Taking the yellow and green specs off if I'm being completely honest every time I watch another team in this league i can't help but think that they have a bit more individual quality than us, particularly up front and in central midfield. We can hold our own if we put in the effort but sadly i just don't think we have the players to outperform other teams in terms of points total over a medium or long term. Even an average side like Leeds looks like they just have a bit more than us in terms of quality and it's going to be extremely difficult to overhaul them to safety. One area that differs greatly though is confidence and how clinical other teams can be. We look like rabbits caught in headlights at times when we get chances, it looks like it just means too much to our players, I've long thought that we could do with a few d1(khe4ds in the team to compliment our team of nice guys to give us a bit more of an edge and confident streak, I don't think the reason for us being so unlucky generally is purely down to quality, it's a mentality thing as well and we appear a bit on the meek side.

That said, I’m grateful for Dean Smith who’s at least ensuring that we’re going down fighting.

Excellent tackle by one of our players in the first half for which he was booked. Goalkeeper for Liverpool handled the ball probably about 5 feet out of the area. Reviewed by VAR but nothing given. Every 50/50 decision against us. I watched with a Chelsea fan who couldn't believe it. What a ****ing joke.

Tzolis is only just turned 20, not everyone can be a Max, staple of the first team at that age. Think he's shown potential which is all we can reasonably expect at his age. I'm not gonna write him off yet. Whatever league we are in next season, hopefully he will have more opportunities to break through.

IMO, refereeing can only get worse with VAR because it removes the responsibility from the man on the pitch. Yes, I know every referee would deny that and say that knowing a key decision might get taken out of their hands doesn't affect their attitude or performance, but I don't see how it cannot.

I had been playing Walking Football and to be honest, taking it too seriously on the pitch and have torn my Achilles Tendon. I am too old to have the op but the waiting list will probably be past my shuffle off date. So its physio only and that happened last September and I still limp. I would go in goal but I am not that stupid.

Buendia had been with us for three seasons and stayed with us for a season back in the Championship. We paid finally around £5.5m for him and we sold him for a basic £33m, which enabled us to fund significant squad building (whether that was the right thing to do is another matter). Buendia may well have had some kind of promise that we would let him go but even if not he was in a strong position to force a move. By contrast Rashica has been with us less than a season and only recently started to make a name for himself. He cost close to £10m so would not bring in the kind of profit we made on Buendia. And he doesn't have that kind of clout to demand a move that Buendia had. We may sell him but unless he has a relegation clause it won't be because we are forced to even though we don't want to. That is why the comparison is flawed. The two likeliest to go, and give us some money to spend, are Aarons and Cantwell. As to Normann, I think the one certainly is that he won't play for Rostov again, so he will go somewhere. Given that, there is a chance he might be willing to join us. I don't see that supposed fee of £11m being beyond us if we do sell both Aarons and Cantwell. But for me the key acquisition is a potential starting striker (even more so than a central defensive midfielder...) and they tend to be expensive, so if it was either or then the striker would certainly trump Normann as a necessity.

Quite agree. And in the long run it affects the quality of refereeing because they are using it as a safety blanket and not using it evenly. For example, they checked for a penalty for an incident involving Mane on Saturday. On watching from a different angle it was a quite blatant dive. So no penalty was given but why on earth not book Mane? They're probably following the guidance but the guidance is nonsense. My other issue is why on earth don't they put an ex player in with the TV ref? Someone like Huckerby or Holt would explain to them what was actually going on.

He's probably good enough to be a squad player there, and his versatility probably counts against him a little bit in that he wont be considered first choice in any position but a capable deputy in many. All comes down to what he wants himself. If he is happy being in and around a club like Manchester Utd and being a bit of a John O'Shea (and no shame in that) then why wouldnt he stay? If he has a burning desire to be first choice in whatever position he settles in and has international ambitions etc, then he may well move on to wherever that is a possibility.

Some may think we are at risk from Putin or China, or COVID, or whatever. Wrong! Morons like those in the video will cause more devastation and degeneration than any outside influences. Whatever happened to decent behaviour?

Just a side-note; I highly doubt our best CB this season by some margin will be benching it in the Championship 🙂

Don't worry, they won't need that. All of the 'fans' of the big clubs will vote for their player without even seeing the other goals, it's the Billy Gilmour MOTM syndrome...

Why would you think this Jools? In my opinion anyone that actively supported brexit is directly linked to helping get Johnson and his corrupt government into power. People can moan all they liked that they wanted a soft brexit but it was that was not going to happen very early on. It's quite simple as it was easy to spot what was going on.

I wish her a swift recovery and good health. But when the inevitable happens, I hope that her successor decides to stand up and speak out for truth and honor and keeping your promises. I think Frank Lampard’s Everton are taking a real gamble relying on Frank to get them playing the right way to get out trouble, although they have a strong squad, they lack leadership.

Personally, I think that's not a very challenging set of games. Like us, they have played Man City and Liverpool, and unless they really collapse, they should be able to get enough points from those games to scrape to safety.

I’m obviously not saying we will win them all (we’ve only won 4 all season after all) but all of our games except Chelsea are arguably winnable or drawable. Yes the big four against fellow relegation candidates stand out as our best chance of wins (and we certainly need to avoid defeat in those games) but equally why can’t we win at Leicester or Wolves or Southampton or Villa. Or beat West Ham at home?

Anglian water shareholder or gravy train passenger by any chance? They are not alike. Tesco is a private enterprise whose wastage costs them money directly, in a competitive market where a customer has a choice. Anglian water is a private enterprise providing an essential public utility for which in all honesty no profit should be made, which customers have no choice, and those customers are subsidising wastage. If you're not angry you're either not paying attention or benefitting from it.

I suspect we will go down, and it's obviously a bit of a kick in the teeth to be bottom again, but I'm not sure Burnley and Watford's results are that relevant. We've got better fixtures coming up where we can hope/expect to go back above them. In that context, Brentford and Everton losing today is great for us. Newcastle's point is annoying, but I suspect we're not going to be looking at their results for much longer. As far as I'm concerned we have just as much of a chance as we did this morning. And it sounds like a decent, determined performance. The boys are doing their best. Let's try to be positive.
