I just had toast. But I grew my own wheat, built my own watermill, then found the last remaining dragon in nearby Wales to toast the bread. Worth it, mind.

Some people are never as happy as when they are unhappy and complaining about something... anything. As has been said, they will always want more "why aren't we Bournemouth" turns into "why aren't we Newcastle" turns into "why aren't we Leicester", turns into "why aren't we Man City" when (if) each of the former materialises. I'm happy with our club. Am I gutted when we lose? Yes. Will I also be gutted when we (in all likelihood) get relegated? Definitely. I'd have liked to spend some more to 'give the boys a hand' this season, but I trust the judgement of the current leadership, as they haven't done too badly so far. I like our philosophy, our entertaining style and our manager's class. I'm more proud of that than I would be finishing 4th bottom or spending x million on a player.

Yes, there is. We are all on a rota. --- For BTTS I suggest Fiorentina vs Atalanta, in Serie A.

That isn't what Burnley did. They went with the two steps forwards, one step back approach we are trying. They hadn't been in the top flight since the mid-70s. Got to the PL in 2008-09 and got relegated straight away. Got promoted again after four seasons, didn't overspend to try to stay up and got relegated straight away, aiming to build slowly without being tied down with high-wage players. And the next time they stayed up and have styed up, and probably will this season.

I know you don't see what it has to do with anything, and that's the problem. For all of far left's talk of inclusion they don't seem to be very inclusive. Far left politics is centered on stating that everyone has to think the same way they do, and if you don't you're a bigot. It's irony at Orwellian levels.

I do admire him and his courage for coming out . It must be incredibly difficult for his wife and daughters though . And yes , why now ? And apparently he’s not ready for a gay relationship ? But presumably he’s had a few ? I am out of my depth here I admit . It’s not like the love I have for Emi Buendia and Darren Huckerby then ? Can’t help thinking people in the entertainment industry live in gilded cages in such situations, so much gushing support and tears from twitter etc . I’ll save my real admiration for a friend of mine’s teenage son and his family , old school Norfolk farming community , who came out as a transsexual last year . That was proper brave. A few ribald jokes ( well more than a few) , but it’s been completely accepted and life goes on . Well done Norfolk .

Yes buying players is risky- but it is part of the game. We're always going to find it near impossible at this level if we're so scared of spending the going rate on a player because it apparently could bankrupt us. I agree signing young players is always preferable- clubs like us need to understand the resale value of anyone we sign. Under Hughton, we weren't financially devastated by a poor transfer window because we'd signed players we could move on without too much issue even if they were poor for us. I'm not advocating for more Naismiths. But to make the most of players like Godfrey, Aarons and Buendia you have to surround them with a bit more quality at this level- and that costs money.

Not sure on how close the correlation is between spending money and team improvement - particularly at levels below the very highest where they can afford big mistakes. Obviously you need to have the money to buy players but there are so many examples of teams below this level "spending big" and failing and vice versa. On the second point, I suspect that Webber did have a bigger budget than he spent but decided that better value was to be had in the loan market. Was there a available CDM that looked a better prospect than Amadou or a goalkeeper better than Fahrmann? The signing of Roberts also looked like an exciting one as did Drmic, an international forward with a good pedigree. In other circumstances they might have been worth £40 million+ but none has made serious impact on the first team. Obviously we do not know for certain if the Claude Maurice story is true, but you chose not to believe it, whilst financially, I believe that we could have afforded it. The truth is that buying players is inherently risky. You can easily spend £50 million+ and end up with a group of players that barely touch the first team and remain a big liability for the rest of their contract. If you are not confident of what you are buying, surely it is better to retain the cash or spend it on younger players, who whilst being even riskier in many respects, are a better speculative option on much lower wages?

Real men don't eat muesli......or quiche. 😉.For a real fortified brekkie, esp when hunting or fishing make porridge from a muesli base and add whatever nuts/fruit that you have . .....it lasts ages in your guts as nuts are slowly digested, if the hunt is successful, then it may well be fresh Venison liver, pan fied on an open fire for brunch(small bag of seasoned flour in knapsack)......hard to beat and sets you up well for dragging the carcass back to your transport.

I'd imagine we're bottom of the wage league this season. It will be interesting to find out how low it is. From Swiss Ramble -"#BurnleyFC wage bill rose £20m (33%) from £61m to £82m, as a result of “our determination to be more competitive in the market, coupled with increased bonuses due to our 7th place finish”. Since promotion, has tripled from £27m in the Championship (and up from £29m in 2014/15 PL)" This is from last season so I'd imagine it has increased further. I'd also imagine we're (quite sensibly) below that number. The issue is will we ever be in a position to do this.

Home made muesli - oats, sliced up almonds, dates pieces, pumpkin seeds, walnut pieces - adding other stuff sometimes, sunflower seeds, maybe chia seeds, brazil nut pieces etc. Top with blueberries or other berries. Delicious and cheaper than buying ready made expensive muesli - and you know what is in it. Doesn't take much effort to make either, just fill a big jar of it once a week.

Free range gotta be 5 mins, white firm but not rubbery, yellow runny but not watery. I once had a chcken that laid an eight ounce egg, 1/4 ounce under the then British record. Poor hen! Must have been like giving birth to Jobsworth! Start with home made live natural yoghurt with fruit , followed by Full Irish for me ,Bacon, sausage, black and white pudding....all made just down the road. Free range eggs, beans(heinz, natch) , fried spud.Grilled Toms. Tea. Followed by toast and marmalade, Guatemalan coffee,( cortado). Then, if I have room, a 'waffer thin mint'. I love food and tend not to eat much other than food.

It is not our natural place. In modern football this is crucially determined by the ambition and resources of clubs’ owners. Would many regard Bournemouth’s natural position as a tier one club? I think not. But its owners have made it so.

Can I just say I was very vocal on both Naismith and Jarvis, not saying told you so, but I am so much happier signing the players we have this window, Rupp could be put into that category but the money spent was a no brainier. I love the current set up, the idea of building on younger hungry players has been a breath of fresh air. Naismith was very vocal he didn’t want to come and we paid way too much to get him here and Jarvis had a history of being injured. Two of the poorest signings ever.

I’m pretty certain Ben Kensell told us at one of the membership meetings that away membership was capped at 7500 so would include the 750 top priority people. Can’t see there being a problem getting tickets with 9000 available on a school night and some of the 3000 who went to the League game not bothering this time especially with the steep ticket prices. There was only 56,000-odd at the replay last night so you’ll get in somewhere

Oh there's a fan who sits two rows in front of me and looks like a beaver. That's not annoying in itself apart from when it's raining and I expect him to build a dam to keep us all safe from floods. What does irritate me is he's had the same seat for 3 or 4 years yet every other home game or so he'll come down our row and realise he's in the wrong place....again. He even has a mate who gets to the match before him who he could use as a marker if he couldn't remember he was row A. Did I point that out? He's THE FIRST ROW AND HE GETS IT WRONG EVERY OTHER HOME GAME. Apologies, rant over.

This has always been the big question mark for me- if we do go back down are we actually able to flex our financial muscle a bit in the league below? You're right that Sitti and McCallum seem like signings in the right direction. But at some point we're going to have to shake off this Naismith based hangover and actually spend some money on a player.

And specifically in the 2014-15 season when Burnley were in the PL, the figures show they were very prudent, in effect accepting they might well get relegated, as happened, but would be financially in a good state to bounce back, as also happened. Their wage bill was the lowest in the PL that season and their wages as a proportion of turnover were also the lowest. This from The Guardian's David Conn: 'A remarkably low wage bill, £27m less than the next lowest-paying club, Hull City. Bouncing straight back from the Championship this [following] season has vindicated the directors’ choice of not using the top-flight bonanza to sign players in an effort to stay up, but to pay off debts – including to themselves – redevelop the training ground, and bank a profit.' Stap me, it really does almost sound like a model to follow...

Exactly! I don't want to be anyone else. Ever. But I'm in the minority on here. I also don't covet other peoples money or other club's players. I think, realistically for me, there's no comparable club's last ten years that I'd swap with ours. Oh, and you don't have to continually moan about our club to be ambitious. I want to win every game we play. And unlike most on here am still up for this season.
