The Zoe stuff is weird, I don't know if it's just because some older blokes can't accept successful women in business but it's really weird. Mostly people claiming they don't know what she does whilst getting irate about how bad she is at the stuff they already claim to not know about.

I'd be a little concerned if we were dropping €8-10m euros on a 22-year-old with only 30 first team appearances to his name, from a lesser league. Especially if money is tight- Tzolis-level money for what would essentially be French Liam Gibbs. For that sort of price you'd need to be absolutely convinced they would come in and perform instantly.

Biggest deal/shock of deadline day = Lewis Hamilton moving to Ferrari! 😂

Why don't we give him a big round of applause when his names read out on Saturday and give him there's only 1 Ben Gibson, show the man some love support and appreciation. He might not be the best cb we've seen at cr but to be fair to him he's a decent bloke and always gives his all. At least he doesn't score as many own goals as Duffy 🤣

The fans that booed him being subbed on the pitch that game should f*ck off and support someone else.

Interesting detail in this piece. Just a reminder that the players are human beings and you don't know what they might be dealing with off the pitch. Wishing him and his family all the best. He has been combining football with hospital visits to see his baby daughter, born prematurely last month. "It [the goal] was a nice moment for me and my family, I'm super proud of all of them," he told BBC Radio Norfolk. "Our little girl is doing really well, she'll hopefully be out of hospital soon, she's been in in intensive care at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, they're absolutely wonderful there. "It has been tough at times, getting the balance between being at home with my son and being at hospital by the incubator, and also trying to be the best professional I can be to perform well on the pitch for the club that pays me." https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68126654

We don't do bets with your lot, because you disappear and don't pay what you owe to charity when you lose.

None of those 3 were playing regularly so no. If we need players for the bench then promote from within. Give Aboh etc. some bench experience/minutes.

So according to the general vibe on here, every single player signed by a rival is guaranteed to improve their squad and be successful, while our offloading a few that many have criticised all season as not being up to it is a bad thing?

Notwithstanding the standard of defending, the thing I like most about the majority of his goals is how aggressively he attacks space in the box. Really wants to get on the end of things. As you go on to say, however, oftentimes our buildup is so slow the box is packed with defenders. Not a lot of space to aggressively attack at the moment.

Bit extreme. You can get a cream for it from the chemists. I think they even dish it out for free in Glasgow.

Will run all the way to Swansea and do nothing when he gets there

The abuse he got was (and largely still is) personal .Far less about what he did in his job and largely about attacking him as a scapegoat. They've moved onto attacking Zoe Webber in his absence. The fans made it personal and his reaction was in a personal capacity. Fair play to him. Nobody should tolerate people behaving like scum.

its not a law suit I'm struggling to see what Clinton is to do with this autumn? That's 2 George Bush's, 2 Barack Obama's and 1 Trump plus Biden presidencies ago. Perhaps its just a senior moment common to Trump these days as well ?

Yeah great stuff we shift our 3rd top goal scorer and the most prolific impact sub in the league. Yeah go us , great move.... Some "fans" Jesus

I took Sonyc's advice and treated IBT like the pathetic troll that he is by not bothering to feed him anymore. It was very good advice. In the meantime you might like to read this opinion from a former federal appellate judge J Michael Luttig, a staunch conservative, who has written to the Supreme Court to argue Trump should be legally disbarred from standing for office: “Trump incited, and therefore engaged in, an armed insurrection against the constitution’s express and foundational mandates that require the peaceful transfer of executive power to a newly-elected president,” Mr Luttig told the justices in a friend-of-the-court brief filed on Monday. “In doing so, Mr Trump disqualified himself under section 3 (of the constitution),” he added. Section 3 of the 14th amendment of the constitution prohibits anyone who “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” from holding public office." https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/conservative-judge-urges-supreme-court-to-toss-trump-from-ballot/ar-BB1hyINM

Obviously there's the unknown of SVH coming in and what he can do at this level, and within this setup. But if you consider that Idah can be getting gametime, our new man will be getting game time, Sarge is getting back to 100% fitness, and Barnes could become the one fighting for his place, I think that's a more healthier position to be in. I don't think it does anyone any good to have Idah playing 10-15 minute cameos at the end of games second fiddle to Barnes. Obviously, the risk comes if SVH isn't up to standard and Sarge gets injured again.

And this is the entire reason we're supposedly on the brink of WW3? You don't believe there's anything else to it than the current president's son? A bit reductionist don't you think?

Of course we are but that has little to do with Biden or his family cashing in. Get a grip and turn off Fox News.

Yes, unfortunately I have to agree. People will only be satisfied if they have some virtual hook up to the recruitment team's office and oversee what is going on. Perhaps that should be the first thing Elon's brainchip people should work on - IP transference of BK's brain thoughts to whoever wants to pay for the privilege.

I think @Worthy Nigelton's point is an excellent one, always what I've thought. The truth that dare not speak its name is that NCFC and ITFC are quite similar, family friendly clubs who can each see the other as sc*m (always hated that word) because they only see each other on derby day. But on the Birmingham rivalry, I went to a NatWest final at Lord's one year and saw a Villa and Birmingham fan in replica shirts get into a scuffle at the bar. They were supporting the same team (Warwickshire) in the cricket. Idiots.

These same fans then criticise players for not performing, after showing them such fantastic "support". It's tiring enough for other fans let alone the players.

Van Wolfswinkel: A full season with AS Saint-Etienne in the French top-flight L1 not being managed by Chris Hughton - five goals in 28 apppearences and ends the season as an unused sub. A full season with Real Betis in the Spanish top-flight La Liga not being managed by Chris Hughton - one goal in 16 appearences and ends the season as an unused sub.

He did get a fistful of dollars for his efforts. High pay demands high returns.
  41. 1 point
That's all correct, but perhaps you should have put IMO behind the highlighted. If you're talking goals (strikes) then Rowe and Sargent (historically) hold that position, whilst Saintz looks promising. As for Idah, many of us have given up on him and feel we could find better. Perhaps Van Huijdonk* is that find. * From now on, it's the "Donk." 😁 I hope that doesn't become the "Donkey."

You must be one hell of a player if you can be so rude about our players. I would like to see a few players coming in, I am really unsure that letting one of our best two strikers leave is a good idea. The new striker will take time to learn the patterns of play and develop a decent understanding of our tactics. Just seems a bit risky when we are only 2 points off the playoffs.

What is a little eerie is that Binfield's local derby is vs Bracknell Town. And they just so happen to have a bird sat on a ball as their badge: I think we've found a glitch in the matrix. While Kris and Jake from Talk Bracknell Town seem nice chaps, Binfield Crazy seems a little unhinged.

Absolutely, We could have had R9 up top that season and he wouldn't have scored in that system.

Yes we do, or at least some of us do, Jonny. He is a loving husband He is a loving father He is responsible for a scrap of helpless human life in trouble He is a professional footballer Arrange those in whatever order you see fit. I see a good man in extremis. My best, Don

It was tongue in cheek about the training ground. I know a lot has been done. I am pretty sure though that regardless of who was in charge the modernisation of Colney would have taken place. So is it really that big of a deal when it most likely would have been done by anyone in the job? When I played for the academy back in the day it was still at Trowse and can remember having to scrub the first teams boots regularly in the late 80’s early 90’s. Some were more appreciative than others. I digress point being times always change and football always evolves.

This whole idea of the transfer window is new to me being a new fan, but I find it fascinating. I haven’t minded Idah in the time I’ve been a fan but can agree that he leaves you wanting more for sure most of the time. Seems to always have chances to score and can’t capitalize. I don’t blame him one bit as a youngster to want to get more playing time. And if Syd can replace him, and maybe even make us a better club, then you got to be happy with the move.
  49. 1 point
Doesn't for me. We need the dosh, and you never know. As has just been said, look at Luton. It might well need a new manager and a few youngsters coming through, but the television and merit money (along with probably even more of those luvverly parachute payments) would open up a different world for Ben Knapper, who might not p-iss it against the wall for once. I also believe it would incentivise Mark Annatasio (and his potential investor friends down under) into providing more funds.
  50. 1 point
Yes must be difficult for him to deal with. Reading between the lines he was probably not injured in early December when he missed a few games. Let’s hope the days of his name being booed when announced are over.
