Afternoon guys...Good to see you back. Looking forward to seeing you again this year as you play decent football and nobody needs any more West Brom's in the PL! Chelsea fan here as expected coming on to wish you all the best with Billy G. You have secured a gem and if he stays injury free you will see the quality immediately in the same way that James Maddison shone - in truth I am really shocked we loaned him out. Billy has amazing awareness for his age and you will quickly see his head is constantly on a swivel and most importantly he is always looking to keep possession but play forward wherever possible. His anticipation of space is superb and he hardly ever gives possession away. Defensively he is rarely caught out and was easily MOTM against Liverpool last year - no mean feat with those 2 midfields! He is mobile and likes to dominate the central third of the pitch and will link your play together and impact every aspect of your team play. He has been compared to Kante but I don't see that myself as he doesn't run with the ball in the way Ngolo does but If I had to find a comparison for him I would genuinely say he reminds me of a young Paul Scholes. Before I'm physically attacked clearly he needs to add goals to be in the frame with a great like Scholes but he has everything else and operates in a similar fashion. He now needs to add those forward runs that Scholes and Lamps were masters at and I'm hoping to see him develop with your team this year. You certainly play the way that should allow him to flourish. Wishing you all the best for the season guys - a proper club, proper ground and that Delia clip still makes me smile every time! Chatting to a mate of mine he said he would compare Billy to Modric in his early days at Spurs...well, if he becomes half the player Luka did I'd take that!

Gilmour said: “I’m very excited to be here. I can’t wait for the season ahead. I’ve been looking forward to coming here, playing as much as possible and helping Norwich City compete in the Premier League. “I spoke to the head coach. He called me and we had a nice talk about how he wants to play and how he sees me fitting in. Everything he said was what I want to do on the pitch, get the ball down and play nice football. He spoke really highly of his team and I wanted to come here and help. Just to add: up yours Graham Sourness!!!!

Gilmour attempted 5 more tackles than any other Scottish player in the game against England - and he didn't play the last 15 mins of that match. Think he hasn't looked that defensive while playing for Chelsea as they tend to have more of the ball and be on the front foot in games. ...Gratuitous Self Promotion Time... You can find more great insights like this in the thing I've written about Billy Gilmour here; https://byag.medium.com/billy-gilmour-skipp-replacement-821dca0d11fd

Very much this. The dinosaur needs to keep up with what’s going on and realise what a great club Gilmour is at for the season, the opportunity he’s got and how it can further his career within the game.

Years ago a story in the EDP ran as follows: "Cauliflower sparks pub fight." We kept that up on our wall for years as it conjured up an image of a belligerent brassica waddling into the bar and nudging a local's elbow.

Excellent result for Labour. The gut-churning hypocite Galloway did everything he could to destroy the Labour vote and hand the seat to the Tories. Well done to all those who refused to let him divide the community with his disgraceful campaign of lies and intimidation. As ever, the far left infiltrators did everything they could to sabotage the centre left agenda to restore the credibility of Labour to ordinary voters. Corbyn and his mob led Labour to the worst result since before WWII, against a known liar and buffoon who was laughed at when he risibly claimed truth was important in politics. Let's hope this is the beginning of a renaissance for a political agenda that can extract itself from the fetid swamp of corruption and self-interest in which the current regime is mired.

I imagine your days go something like this: 7:00 wake up, have some weetabix. 7:15 tune into the paraguayan second division for a light start to the day. 9:00 watch the Seria B highlights, whilst taking a mental note of the Bundesliga crossing stats. 10:00 check through AFC Wimbledon's training footage, check the Stole Sentinel for Port Vale's movements on the loan market. 11:30 Have a coffee, listen to radio clips of classic Boca vs River encounters Etc.

This is why I only post the actual in hospital numbers. It appears from the data that most admissions are very short term as the seven day totals only show an extra 288 people still in hospital. Thankfully most people going into hospitals are quickly coming back out of the front door and not the back one.

A lot of comments justifying prices compared to Aaron’s and the amount of games played. If respective clubs were reversed how many games would a 21 year old Aaron’s have played if coming through Spurs academy and would Skipp only have one season under his belt if he was one of ours? personally see the values of the two players much similar as the ability in respective positions similar. They both have a very bright future ahead and I would only put £5m ish between them, whether that’s 20 & 25 or 25 & 30 I’m not sure but either way another 1 yr loan is the best I think we can hope for

I know your stance on Brexit Broadstairs as you've been vocal in the past. And that is fine. The story posted earlier is interesting and of course would be good news if businesses relocate here. I think those kind of decisions might play out over years. And we will only know the full effect of Brexit many years down the line. It's not started well though. One might expect teething problems and any new arrangements take a good while to bed in. I wanted to challenge your 'strapline' as it were "the US innovates, China imitates and the EU regulates". My view is that is such a reductive statement that it diminishes it being taken seriously (apologies as have no wish to be personal, I'm focussing on your words though). The EU is not perfect but isn't regulation important for industrial health and safety, for food safety? Just two examples and many more (security, cross sectoral collaboration -private/public/third etc as well as their work on promotion of wage / employment conditions and HR protections, for equality ...and so on). As a result we have seen industrial accidents fall, food contamination outbreaks decrease and so on. We have seen wonderful examples of labour mobility and job creation schemes. There are thousands of examples actually (I know as I worked in several and visited many countries and saw results with my own eyes and spoke to many people, specialists in their fields). Just to say the EU regulates is rather a crass simplification and actually is untrue as a statement in itself. Any move to regulate though often has bureaucracy with it. It is bureaucracy that is a pain in the *rse. I am critical of much of this. On this I would agree with you. The Chinese have built their industry through incredible exploitation, much as happened in the UK in the industrial revolution. That's capitalism isn't it. Yet they have achieved that not just by imitation but through huge state planning and investment. What if we had adopted such an approach to our infrastructure? We didn't. Successive governments haven't. Generally, US standards are a real concern for our pharmaceutical industry and our health service. For our agriculture too If that is innovation then we should all fear. It will be a 'race to the bottom'. All about the bottom line Anyway, enough here. I couldn't just not respond to those sentences without adding a little context. The EU is not all bad and it is not perfect. For me it's about building on a relationship and influencing what you can. Not simply a divorce without any idea of how you're going to look after your children you've had together afterwards. That is irresponsible Yet, that is one metaphor for the way Brexit seems to being handled.

Indeed! He did it purely to sabotage Starmer and the Labour Party. Apparently there are already several suspensions from the Labour Party for far-left members who campaigned on behalf of Galloway.

    1) Happy birthday!!! 2) Gilmour signing is great to see, not just for his ability. It's also great to see us benefitting beyond just financially for the work we've done developing younger players since Farke has been at the club. I'm hoping some will acknowledge this above and beyond just wanting a billionaire to buy us. This is a key part of our model and it sound like we've fought off some difficult competition for this signing.

On the radio this morning they talked to (not my billing) the countries foremost Harry Kane lookalike. They asked what type of work he did and he said it was mainly kids parties (how bad must those parties be?) and radio work. RADIO WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. If your a radio booker and you need a lookalike ( anyone, I can do them all) just PM me. 😀

Anyone claiming that the shambles that constitutes our present government isn't ideologically motivated by far-right principles demonstrates a startlingly naive ignorance of the careers and views of its cabinet members. The money spent by the current mob was determined by the necessity to keep the country afloat and did NOT stem from any desire to invest in public services or industry. They are radical free marketeers to a man and woman (except, of course, when it comes to funnelling taxpayers' money into their own Tory constituencies). One only needs to look at their stunted literary contributions to see how far right they are, for example: Britannia Unchained: Global Lessons for Growth and Prosperity Paperback – Illustrated, 13 Sept. 2012 by K. Kwarteng (Author), P. Patel (Contributor), D. Raab (Contributor), C. Skidmore (Contributor), E. Truss (Contributor) The paucity of their views has been exposed by the twin disasters of the pandemic and brexit. Thus it is no suprise that they have had to resort to left of centre economic policy in order to save the country from economic and social collapse. But make no mistake, as soon as it becomes remotely possible, their far right ideological obssessions will prevail again.

Accounts, assets and goodwill .... the three tenets of any business purchase. Accounts at Portman Road ..... zero. Assets ..... limited, mainly the training ground. Over-sized stadium needing attention and constant upkeep. Pitch ... ditto. They don't even have undersoil heating apparently. Goodwill (=support) .... moderate. Should increase this season, but the ceiling has lowered over recent years. They paid £30 million for that. Potential? I suppose that has a place but I wouldn't lend a single dime on that liklihood with regards ITFC. That Mr. Soccer even mentions Premier League existence as 'eventual' for the club demonstrates just how little he knows of the English game. This is not a Man. City, Chelsea or even Leicester style takeover. There are no multi-millions waiting to be poured in. It is more a dreamlike approach, shrouded in bull****e, without the slightest realisation of the "steep and thorny road to heaven" that will be involved.

From the stats I've seen he is definitely not as defensive as Skipp, so don't expect him to be the absolute hoover we've come to expect from Skipp. I think he's more like McLean in being able to get forward a bit more. I'm still hopefully we can get Skipp too, they might work well alongside each other.

A responsible UK pension fund would never entertain such a huge risk. The Club has virtually no assets so there is nothing to take a charge (mortgage) to secure any part of the debt. They will be in the same position as Evans I.e. Initial debt circa 25k which eventually rolled up to 100k as there was never any surplus to cover interest let alone repayment of his loan. Do not understand why many huge loans are made to Football Clubs. Take Chelsea for example - they now owe Abromovich around 700 million. Doubt if he will ever be repaid but mainly for tax reasons - at our expense !! - he juggles finances between his various companies. Norwich City are now one of the most financially stable Clubs in the UK.
