8 pointsObviously this phenomenon is exacerbated by the thinness of our squad. But it's an interesting stat, and one we've been on the wrong end of this season. Presumably having lots of long away trips doesn't help either. Going to say again, the manner of it was infuriating. But a point on Tuesday wasn't the worst result overall.

8 pointsFirstly, huge thanks to Eddie for the past 17 years of running the Rays Funds threads. It takes an enormous amount of time to curate, keeping records of all picks, results and odds for the league tables he publishes. I had the honour of starting the thread and looking after the week once a few years ago when Eddie wasn't able to, so believe me when I say it's an unenviable task! Because of the effort, time taken and relentless support of (mainly) the CSF (but not forgetting FONCY, Sarcoma UK and our dearly departed friends - Michelle, Wooster and Lapps) I used my vote in this years "Michelle Dack Fan of the Season" award to nominate Eddie as a contender, writing a lengthy email as part of the process to explain why I was nominating him for his tireless dedication to running the Rays Funds threads over the years. I was delighted when the Club contacted me and Eddie to confirm that their panel had selected Eddie as one of this years 3 finalists and were happy to include him on all their postings and presentations surrounding the award. Very fitting given that the award is named after one of our dearly missed Pups. However, in true Eddie style - he declined the nomination, saying that he wouldn't want to stand in front of anyone else and deny them of deserving of the award themselves. He also iterated that the he couldn't accept an award for Rays Funds as the whole ethos of the thread is about the Pups, without whom the thread couldn't function - and he couldn't accept without an award for each and every one of us. I'm sure Eddie won't mind me quoting from an email exchange he had with the club - "Knowing that Kev appreciates what weโve all done with Rays Funds is all the recognition I could need". A fine example of humility that many lack these days - you're a winner in my eyes mate and I'll miss this thread dearly. So, onto the picks For Steve (yet another Pup I've had the pleasure of meeting as a direct result of these threads) PORTO v Famalicao HOME WIN in Portugal For Wolfie - Liam Lindsay to score anytime Good luck everyone - lets hope we can add to the pot in these final few weeks! 6 pointsWhy are they letting Gibbs ride dangerous farm equipment at this point in the season?
-
6 pointsI believe someone once said the same about Luciano................. (the groundsman never had to worry)
-
5 pointsAs an aside - this is why the decision to send Idah out was a stupid one. Instead of having a guy capable of deputising, we're now looking around at the options all scratching our heads.

-
4 pointsI've heard there's a thread about Leeds and Leicester bottling it but I can't find it. Does anybody know where it is?
-
3 pointsWhat are the chances of Sydney Van Hooidonk playing on Saturday David? "Well he's been sh*t in training so I doubt it.............." If you seriously expect football managers to answer questions honestly there's little hope for you.

2 pointsWelcome to Rays Funds, supported by Turner European Consulting and Cavell Healthcare We have PUPs legend @First Wazzock picking the final six this weekend. Wazzyโs having another superb season this time and leads our profitability league with 30/36 83% winning picks at a profit of +9.50. He is a former PUP league winner . and also won 3xPOTM this season in August, December and March. Added to that six previous final six wins heโs a real PUPs legend but for me Wazzy being dear old Lapps โwheelbarrow partner in crimeโ is the icing on the cake Letโs help Wazzy to win number 7 with our very best selections from the games played on Saturday, Sunday and Monday of this weekend that are listed on the Bet 365 web site. We have another top PUP making the final selections for our game at Preston on Saturday with @Feedthewolf in the hot seat. Wolfieโs having another brilliant season with 27/36 75% winning picks and is right in contention for the profitability league on +6.61.Wolfie was Octoberโs POTM and has a hat-trick of final six wins on Arrdeeโs honours board. FTW was up first for the Norwich picks in August when he won ยฃ73.50 so letโs help him add more to the pot with some great options for Saturday from those listed on Bet 365 or Bill Hill. ๐๐Thanks so much all you PUPs for the wonderful support youโve given Rays Funds over the past 17 years. Iโve decided to stand down after this season. Iโm fine by the way, and I will miss it for sure. But for many reasons itโs become clear to me this is the time to call it a day. However we still have four weeks of this season and Kathyโs famous Euro sweepstake plus hopefully a couple of play-off games we can get involved with. And of course those early season pledges to settle.๐๐ Good luck all you PUPs. We all stand together with the single aim of raising money for the Community Sports Foundation and our fabulous Downs Syndrome and pan-disability boys and girls. Take it away Steve and Matt the thread is yoursโฆ๐... On behalf of us all a massive thank-you to our wonderful sponsors Turner European Consulting and Cavell Healthcare also our benefactor PUPanon2. 2 pointsFor the first time ever I've had a non alcoholic drink and enjoyed it, usually it's absolute rubbish. Guinness zero, you hardly notice any difference
-
2 pointsI'm sure Idah was quite happy in signing that 5 yr contract ....having done that he should play whatever role we bl0ody well tell him to...
-
2 pointsPresumably Rowe will be on the bench? In the interview with the Pinkun Wagner says Sargent was fitness related. Around 5:20... Just to add the decision to send Idah out on loan is looking more and more ridiculous, isn't it Knapper.
-
2 pointsWhere did he? Because in his post match interview with Connor he confirmed it was fitness related.
-
2 pointsThis subject reminds me of a very, very old joke (primary school!)..... ...two eggs were boiling in a pan and one said to the other "it's so bloody hot in here" and the other replied "well, just wait til you get outside...you'll get your head kicked in" #getscoat
-
2 pointsThe crap Wagner got for taking him off against Wednesday, saying he should have stayed on until 80 mins.
-
2 pointsEddie, as @Robert N. LiMhas already mentioned, this thread has often been a sanctuary on the message board when times have been difficult and tempers have been frayed, so many thanks for providing that, not to mention the magnificent achievement of helping to raise a significant amount of money for the CSF. ๐ I'm glad I finally managed to break my duck this season. For the Final Six this week, a Leeds United Home Win against Blackburn at 1/3. For the Norwich match, the breaking news that Josh is a doubt has dampened my optimism somewhat but I will go for a 0-1 Away Win. Best of luck @First Wazzock, @Feedthewolfand the rest of the magnificent PUPs.
-
2 pointsSend the bailiff in to take back our players, if Omobamdele & Godfrey payments arenโt up to scratch! Get them back for next season๐๐
-
2 pointsYes but only 2 points but they now have ยฃ200 million in the bank! So take away wages theyโre still going to have a big advantage next season! There should be a transfer embargo too!
-
2 pointsSix years for me, so not quite as long but long enough, and same as yourself I kind of knew it was time to move on and was already in the process of job hunting, but it was at my leisure and on my terms, thinking well I'll just carry on here until I find something. I also had some obviously misguided loyalty because they welcomed me back after my treatment etc without any fuss. It's probably what I needed in the long run to actually get a new job not just keep telling myself I need to but then carry on where I am for the comfort factor. I just wish it was as simple as clicking my fingers and getting a new job, but there's so much competition. ๐คท Something always comes up, and I am willing to take whatever I have to do to keep me going and keep the bills paid.

2 pointsThe NHS was never set up to provide this kind of service. Aneurin Bevan must be spinning in his grave! That and a certain agenda being spun by the academic world.

2 pointsWagnerโs basically made it clear thatโs the team, be very surprised if there were any unforced changes other than restoring Duffy.
-
2 pointsSame team as Wednesday on Tuesday, just with Duffy back for Batth if Duffy is fit enough for 90 mins. Rowe as impact sub if fit. Be good to finally have an option off the bench.
-

-
2 pointsI can't believe that's the case for a moment. In terms of his own stock and his next job etc I don't think he'd not play what he believes is his strongest side and make the subs he believes are best for the team and the match in question. I think SvH hasn't featured because for whatever reason he is completely unsuitable for the way we play. And let's not make this a Webber v Knapper argument either.

2 pointsI'd prefer to see a few rare glaring errors like this than VAR being so invasive and active in affecting the rules of the game to suit it. I read that it hit the player on the face when it happened, at least it was his hand based on this replay. Shocking positioning to think it was in the box though.
-
2 pointsYes, we all assumed that was the reason for your dislike of Pride and other inclusive initiatives. ๐
-
2 pointsI agree with you that out of the 3 Placheta might have been worth keeping for impact off the bench, but of course we couldn't have known then that both Rowe and Onel would get injured at the same time.
-
2 pointsThanks, but I wish someone would point out that Leeds and Leicester are doing a good job of bottling it too..
-
2 pointsThe problem is that Leeds and Leicester are also doing a sterling job of bottling it at the same time.
-
2 pointsI don't think many fans would have dreamt we'd have been in the running for playoffs either. Me included. Also, Knapper wouldn't have just been putting his balls on the line, but he'd be putting the club's financial security at greater risk.
-
2 pointsPenalties are too influential in football anyway. There's an average of around 2.8 goals per game professional football, and generally penalties have a success rate of 75-80%, despite the fact the possibility of a goal being scored in the attack had the foul not been committed generally being at least ten times lower. Penalties have a huge, and disproportionate, impact on results in a sport where scoring is incredibly low. There isn't a sanction in any sport with a discrepancy as large as penalties in football, whereby the punishment/reward is so much greater than the offence which causes it. For that reason, speaking as a neutral, thank god common sense prevailed in the Gabriel incident and a penalty wasn't awarded for something so ridiculously trivial.

1 pointItโs so strange how our players like Sorensen, Gobs seam to get pretty serious injuries, bad luck but it does cut their development all the time. Such a shame as both could have played a crucial role in the run in!

1 pointI echo everyone else's comments about Eddie's incredible commitment to the PUPs cause over the past 17 years. I'll be back tomorrow to do the match picks, but my pick for the final six is for Wrexham to beat Forest Green; odds of 4/11 look pretty generous.
-
1 pointOk, how are we all feeling after Tuesday? It seems a long time ago when I made my 'last 13 games predictions' and we're currently two points ahead due to beating the binners. Confidence must have been surging through me to predict that we would win the last four. ๐ I am still confident about the home games but Saturday will be tough for sure. Getting Jonny back into the squad at Preston (hopefully) will be a huge boost, with our lack of depth from the bench at the moment, but I would be surprised to see him fully fit until the start of the play offs. Keep calm and carry on.... A Blackburn Draw ๐ H Sunderland Win ๐ A Boro Lose ๐ H Rotherham Win ๐ A Stoke Win ๐ H Plymouth Win ๐ A Leicester Lose ๐ H 1p5wich Draw +2 Happily incorrect! A Sheff Wed Draw ๐ 68 points A Preston Win H Bristol City Win H Swansea Win A Birmingham Win = 80 points I think that 2 wins and a draw will be enough now resulting in 74 points. Some of those below us have to play each other so this will help. Ideally, we really need to get those seven points in the first three games as Birmingham could be needing points to stay up on the last day. Having those two back to back home games is very helpful at this stage.
-
1 pointAs many others have said - Duffy for Baath and Rowe off the bench if he's fit enough. With Gibbs out we'll have very, very little of quality on the bench to bring on though.
-
1 pointI had to stop putting 3 sugars in my tea because of my blood pressure, and also switched to decaffeinated as I was having palpitations. Canโt tell the difference between decaf and normal, and without the sugar I now realise that I hate the taste of tea. Need something to dunk my bourbons into though so Iโm still drinking it ๐ณ

1 pointI assume you are jokingโฆit hit his head and was a good way out of the box..2 mistakes from 2 people

1 pointTo many people associating the contentious trans issues with the gay rights movement did tarnish it somewhat, so pride was no longer just about battling homophobia (something thatโs largely disappeared from most of society) but something that includes much more political questions about giving experimental drugs to children and allowing men into women single sex sports and spaces. When groups such as Stonewall were some of the trans issues loudest proponents, so much so that even gays and lesbians started to distance themselves from it and start groups such as the LGB alliance then I think itโs fair to say the pride had lost some of its original meaning
