Never understood "fans" who feel it's their duty to call out youth academy players as "sh*t". Doesn't really match either fan or supporting. You could say you don't rate him etc without necessarily going to those levels.

There’s a good booklet about peoples stories of playing fm/Champ manager. Some of them are quite funny. There was a guy playing against galatasaray in Europe so he set fire to some paper to simulate the smoke whilst he played. Also grown men putting on their best suit when they reached the fa cup final and having a bottle of champagne on the side for if they won. 😂. I used to love the old champ manager days. It got a bit too complicated for me in later versions.

Reminds me of a cashier at Ladbrokes years ago. French football wasn’t on the coupons but you could get a bet on via the till computer. I’d asked for £20 on Toulouse and she repeatedly kept asking who I was backing to lose. Even when I’d pointed out they were a French side it didn’t really help proceedings.

Colney has indeed changed and that mountain in the background is used by Webber for his own training regime.

Thanks for posting Rob, I know some clutch their pearls whenever a supporter of a rival comes on here, but it’s good to get some perspective from outside the yellow and green bubble.

Welcome to Rays Funds, supported by Cavell Healthcare and Turner European Consulting. https://www.cavellhealthcare.co.uk/ https://turnereuropeanconsulting.com/ Hope all you PUPs are having a great summer and are refreshed and ready to go for our 17th season. I’ll be posting the first week’s thread next Wednesday 2nd August from sunny Scratby. We got a major boost this summer when Cavell Healthcare made a brilliant donation to our presentation pot again giving us a great start to the new season and taking the total amount raised for the CSF to 25,346. Thanks so much to all at Cavell Healthcare for this continued support. I’m proud be associated with them and of course our friends at Turner European Consulting. Here are the latest totals... This is the point where I ask for your tenners to finance the season. My paypal is canaryeddie@aol.com. We need 40 tenners to finance our final six for the season. As things stand we don’t have funds for the Norwich bet. I’m loathe to ask for more funds in these tough times and all the money we get through donations, sponsorship, pledges etc goes to the presentation pot. I think we can manage quite well doing just the final six but let me know what you think. It’s your thread. Here is where I’d normally try to explain how this all works but after failing miserably for sixteen seasons I’ve decided it can’t be explained. All I can say is it works thanks to the ingenuity and generosity of our PUPs and all we have to do is send a tenner, make our picks, enjoy ourselves while watching the presentation pot grow. Just a reminder that Rays Funds is for all Pink Un posters so please get involved. Here’s the rota for August. As usual our PUPs league winners get the first weeks… 05 Aug - @Parma Ham's gone mouldy 12 Aug – @Inch High aka Inchy.. 19 Aug – @First Wazzock 26 Aug - @Cosmic Twin Also don’t forget @GMF said we could all BOGOF again in this season’s Canary-Challenge which means as in previous seasons all PUPs who enter are invited to have a free go where any winnings go to our presentation pot for our wonderful Pan-disability boys and girls. All details are here:-

Yes. A few surprises as well Duffy looks very solid and competent (no backheaders though). Much as with Stacey. Gino was linking up well down the left side, whoever was with him. Gibbs is quite an aggressive player for someone so slight. Looking like he will take a DM role. Sara's goal was a 'Hey lads, look what you have been missing' Without an open admission of fault, the signings are in direct contrast to the ones signed from abroad previously. Players who look like they are ready for the Championship. i expect that what we have saved in transfer fees is going out in wages - but if they do the job then that's fine. Too many recent loans and purchases have turned out duds.

The incomings look pretty decent tbh. Dare I say Webber looks to have been involved in some pretty astute signings so far.

Did they not mention the part where he skied an open goal from about a yard out?

Yeah how strange me being on a norwich city forum when norwich city are playing a football match I've paid money to be able to watch. You don't seem old enough to have your own money, big man. Enjoying the school holidays are we?

Turgid stuff. Better defensively but no creativity or threat at all up front. Going to be a long season I fear. Also idah hasn’t improved

If we're becoming harder to beat, more physically robust and flintier in the tackle then I don't think this is a bad thing considering the soft underbellies of previous Norwich sides.

Of course they did. The point being, now that Brexiteers got the vote they wanted, we can never let the people vote on this issue again. With the evidence that Brexit, like Communism, is a total con, it’s clear a large majority would vote to rejoin to EU. But also like Communism the excuse is it just hasn’t been implemented properly so round and round the drain hole this once respected country goes as a desperate ruling party sabotages every remaining bridge to the past economic success, truth and decency.

After watching that Young Boys farewell vid to 'Fasi' and after 6 or so years, 250 plus games, 5 title wins, 2 cup wins etc etc you begin to just realise how much of a new challenge it is for the guy. Really do hope he enjoys being here, slotting in well and becoming a well liked Canary...much like Timmy Klose was. Welcome Christian!...or should that be Fasi? p.s. slot in the winner against that lot down South and jobs done.

Know nothing of him as a player but on the face of it that's a decent signing, isn't it? Good age, good pedigree at the highest level, from a league that should enable him to slot in pretty easily. Presumably speaks decent English and knows the coach well. Good signs.

I still think the wolf was a good player. Just ill suited to our team at that given time, which is more of a reflection on our poor player acquisition.

As I've always maintained - there is a systemic need among Norwich fans to find some sort of blame within the team, even when it's going well. For a couple of years it was Cantwell, even when we were winning leagues and watching incredible football. Now it seems to be Idah. I remember when it was Thomas Helveg when Worthy was in. Ian Henderson often got it too, didn't he?

Yes, I paid 15% but my flat cost £23k and I earned around £19k the same as you. I didn't have a care in the world. Getting a bit fed up with people my age telling youngsters they should be grateful.

It's been mentioned a couple of times over the last few weeks so probably deserves its own thread. Who else on is currently or has been a champ addict? When a club makes a signing does anyone else immediately scout him on the game to see if he's any good? Do you always manage as Norwich? How much success have you had with them? League winners? Champions of Europe? I finished 2nd in the Premier league once then got sacked mid October as we were only 9th. That the highest I've got. I once took Ipswich down to non league and several bankruptcies. Whenever they sacked me I just added a manager and took over again. I got up to around Keano 50 I think. One only lasted 11 games but in that time I managed to add -57 to the goal difference so it wasn't a total waste! Grant Holt earnt nothing for 15 months on one game. He demanded a move to a bigger club. I offered him around but then turned down moves to everyone who bid on him so I just stuck him in the reserves and fined him every week till he left on a free! Don't worry. I'm not that petty in real life! Currently doing a game when I'm trying to manage all 92 clubs. I manage for 10 games then move on to the next job. On club 9 at the moment. It's fun. I'm playing that on the switch so it's football manager touch which isn't as in depth as the PC version so doesn't take all day to play about 3 games!

Very much my feeling too. And I don't want to dislike the likes of Rowe for being played for so many minutes either because of that, as wish to get behind all players... But there seems such favouritism going in his direction that is frustrating when other, more established player is only seeing 10 mins gametime. The 3x 40 mins format really showed a big difference in runners vs ball playing types. I just hope we maintain a balance.

I think thats true. But if we are being fair the 'commercial reasons' included coutts making the assessment that Farage's values did not accord with their own. It wasn't just about him not having enough cash, they might have been OK with that had it not been for his public standing: "The relationship has been below commercial criteria for some time and upon review of Nigel's past public profile and connections, the perceived risks for the future weighed against the benefit of retention the decision was taken to exit upon repayment of an existing mortgage." I am still of the belief that this should have been ignored, but since it wasn't it it important to be completely open about this and to have the debate about just how much a person can say and do before they get civic sanctions against them.
