Very sad. The Knott Underwood combination was excellent. Time for an awful admission. I watched test cricket a lot in the late 60's/early 70's when Underwood was regularly referred to as the night watchman. As a 9 or 10 year old I assumed he was some sort of security guard and felt sorry for him having to work all night and play cricket as well.

I absolutely want him to stay and hope that he does. A good bloke and a good manager.

Well, we could have really done with him from the bench in recent games.

It’s hard not to like Manchester City. Their meteoric rise from the third tier to dominant force is quite remarkable. It also shows what can be done with a bit of vision and ambition. To not only catch United but usurp them as the “team to beat” must be so sweet for their fans, who, it should be added, all had season tickets in division 3 and haven’t just sprung out of the woodwork at the first hint of success.

Opinions I guess He may not have been our best (defining best might be difficult) player, but I do feel he is our 'player of the season' for many reasons.
  11. 3 points
I can say that this in my opinion has been his best season for us! He’s been a non spotlight player but everywhere he’s played he’s been outstanding this season! ( Coming from me) but I always say if they deserve credit then they get it. Sara will no doubt pip him but I’d say my POTS too.

Shouldn’t that be Everton really? They turned up half cut and couldn’t be bothered.

I like AFC Wimbledon. Well and truly sold down the river by the FA, absolutely disgusting how they were treated, lets never forget that Wimbledon never went bankrupt or enter administration, they got bought out by somebody who moved them from London to Milton Keynes. At that time, before the change in the rules, that could have happened to any club. For that reason they deserved the solidarity that was shown nationally. Their fans decided that wasn't the end of Wimbledon and have built a new Wimbledon from scratch, who now play in a 9215 capacity stadium in the Wimbledon district that the club owns, how can you knock that? They really proved that no club is bigger than its fans, or that fans are what make a club. Currently in the same division as MK Dons too. In 2007 when MK Dons handed back the trophies win by Wimbledon FC to the London Borough of Merton I really felt that they should drop 'Dons' from their name also. They should really be Milton Keynes FC or Milton Keynes Town.

I guess wimbledon is one I'd like to do well again. was over the moon when they beat MK dons not so long ago.

I doubt Starmer is overly bothered, in fact he may be glad to see the back of her. But if she nominated the house in question as her main residence for CGT purposes then there are no tax implications. She has made it quite clear there is no tax due. Using that address on electoral papers is no big deal really. She owned the property and no one else lived there. Bearing in mind that her children are escorted to school by the police every day she may claim to have done it for security reasons. The thing that annoys me is that the time limit for prosecuting the offence she is alleged to have committed has long passed. The Conservative Party know that full well but have still asked the police to investigate a crime for which they are unable to prosecute. What a ridiculous waste of time and resources. But as others have pointed out, if you live in a greenhouse you really shouldn't throw stones. I doubt she's done much, if anything, wrong but I'm sure there'll be much more of this sort of thing. We know there are some extremely dubious people in the Conservative Party and I'd be surprised if there weren't a few on the other side of the fence. We've probably got a few months left of this sort of nonsense which pretty much sums up the state of the country at the moment. Very depressing.

My view is he's more likely to leave than stay. I dont want him to leave, but it's what I can see happening. Knapper weakened our squad in January and Wagner has made several comments about it. We then sign a replacement for goalscoring Idah in someone for the "long term" even though its only a loan at this stage, who doesn't look anything remotely like the sort of striker Wagner wants for this system. Put it this way, I think if we achieve playoffs this season it's in spite of what Knapper done in January rather than because of it. Saying all the above, there's plenty of times Sporting Directors and Head Coaches won't see eye to eye as often some of Knappers long term work won't be to appease the coach. And that's not a slant on Knapper because Farke was furious at us selling Pritchard and was rightfully dubious if this new Buendia chap who Webber said was better would actually prove to be. Ultimately there will have to be some sort of deal struck at end of season - Wagner will want something more than a rolling contract and will have options away from Norwich and Knapper may want his own man which in itself would be understandable. But the pressure is then on - these players love Wagner and they feel vindicated in their group decision to back him vs the noise from us lot wanting him sacked. So if you get a new man in he will have to hit the ground running or the squad will, at least subconsciously, be questioning the decisions the club makes.

He’ll be in the dugout first game next season. Even if Knapper wanted to, he hasn’t got a case to sack him given the turnaround. But frankly I don’t think the owners nor Knapper wanted rid anyway. They gave him the time to turn things around and that’s been proved to be the right decision, regardless of what now follows this season.

We win with Barnes in the team. It is our team play and system that are winning games, not individuals. Rowe may or may not be better than every player playing, does not mean changing our team and way of playing will bring better results. He may have scored lots of goals, but since his injury, Sargent has scored more goals and other players have also been scoring lots. Not a love fest for Barnes, but those 11 starting players for me.

I don’t get this negativity around McCallum, he’s brilliant going forwards and he’s only really broken through this season. Yes he gets caught up pitch but that’s our style, that’s why McLean sirs deep, Gibson or McLean should cover this if it happens. personally he’s better in the air than Dimi, he’s better going forwards and there’s not a huge amount of difference at the defending. I’d be signing him up regardless of promotion or not.

This is exceptional and goes some way to explaining why fans are voting him as POTS in their numbers, fans love seeing players challenging and winning the ball back.

Is it just a coincidence that those who consistently slate Kenny are the same ones who are consistently wrong about pretty much everything else…
  24. 2 points
Agreed. The same is true of the current Wrexham team. Going about their business quietly and building their way through the leagues, without making a huge fuss; supported by a fanbase who’ve been behind them forever.

Everton all day long since the Coventry stitch up. Not helped since by a fan with a child in his arms running down the stand to punch an opposition player in a European match. Crowd shots of their fans shows rows of foul-mouthed and screaming face-contorted football authority hating thugs.

It’s like a box of chocolates buddy and everyone has their favourite. “Since the Blackburn loss” coincides exactly with the much derided Delia and Michael phone call. So that’s a nice soft centre. Perhaps a strawberry cream. Almost exactly coinciding with the start date of Knapper would be a nice manly hazelnut crunch that will be much more palatable for many on here. But coinciding with continually getting players back early from injury and managing their fitness is probably the gold wrapped chocolate in the centre. Webber’s swimming pool! Who’d have thought it 🏊‍♂️

For those who can't watch this, this was one of the most bizarre MP votes ever; if he had represented the Raving Loony Party he wouldn't have looked out of place. O'Mara was a DJ at one of the worst of the cheap student dives on West St (called West St Live, natch) in the years leading up to selection. I can only think him and his mates just woke up coked to high heaven one morning and thought it would be a laugh to nominate one of them for role of Labour candidate. Up to that point it was Nick Clegg's constituency. I think Labour never really thought they would shift him, so didn't want to waste a good candidate taking him on. Probably having sobered up O'Mara got through the selection process on a minorities & disabled candidate ticket (he has a minor form of cerebral palsy and could be quite persuasive if he put his mind to it). The student vote (Hallam is a constituency with a mix of the very richest in the country, a lot of student "villages" and many lecturers) decided anyone was better than Clegg and a lot of them recognised O'Mara from that club so they voted en masse for him. Once an MP, stories of female students being verbally abused by him from behind the decks emerged, Labour sacked him, and he seemed to forget about politics and reverted to drug taking big style. His interview with my mate James Vincent at the height of the scandal when he was high on coke and champagne was pure car crash TV. Poor all round. And now O'Mara languishes in prison having been found guilty of fraud by squandering most of his MP's pay and expenses on cocaine.

Hallam FC - destined because of their sloping ground (oldest football ground still in existence - see picture) never to play above level 8 in the pyramid, but have a set up to rival everyone at that level, currently enjoying attendances between 500 and 1,100. Sandygate is a football and cricket stadium in the Sheffield suburb of Crosspool, South Yorkshire, England. It is home to Hallam F.C. and Hallam C.C. First opened in 1804, Hallam F.C. have played at the ground since 1860. Sandygate has been recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as the "Oldest Football Ground in the World".[3] On 26 December 1860, the world's first inter-club football match was played at the ground, Hallam taking on Sheffield F.C. The ground offers viewing for spectators from 3 sides of the pitch, the Shed End, the Main Stand and the Cricket Net End. Followed (remotely) by Attleborough Town FC, my home town team, who have been struggling on late.

Was I? I set out a proposition that Wagner tends to have long streaks of similar results over his career. All that has been proven is that with a one off loss, his long winning streak continues. I'm taking a Purps position here, and say my statement means I was right either way! 😉 🙂 😜

No. Stick with it. Eventually he’ll get sacked and then you can claim to have been right all along. I think it’s rule 4 paragraph 2 subsection 6 of the PinkUn guidebook. 🙂

Feel very strongly he should stay on the bench for now. If you leave out Barnes for him, then Sara has to play as the ten, where he's far less effective. He's been a revelation in that position coming in from the right. Also, the Barnes-Sargent combination works really well, not least in their defensive pressing. Obviously you'd like Barnes to score more, but with Sainz, Sargent and Sara we have plenty of goals in the team. In the first half of the season Rowe was outstanding, but he often lasted little more than an hour. Given his explosive style, and the fact he's coming back from injury, he seems the ideal impact sub, exactly what we've been missing. Really excited to have him back, but feel he can make the biggest impact in these last few games exactly as he did yesterday, coming on to terrorise a tiring team.

What amazing supporters you all are. He's not up to first team standard and probably needs a loan. To call him "truly awful", "crap" and hope you "never see him in a Norwich shirt again" is more reflecting on the sort of **** level of supporter we have at this club than anything else. Disgraceful.

Behave, I was right about Sargent! Sainz and Hwang! Just because McLean has a consistent and very good season! You mock me Nutty!😂😂👍

Scum Liverpool Scum Liverpool Scum Liverpool Although back in the day of Toshack, Keegan,Callaghan etc I quite enjoyed watching them the self entitlement of the past 20 yrs has done it for me.

Oh, has ethnicity and motivation of the first attacker magically changed?

Totally agree. I have my doubts whether Rowe would be satisfied with this super-sub role, though.

He’s a decent SPL player and maybe a top end L1 player. Never looked anything special here.

He has played 4,360 minutes for us over 115 games in all competitions (99 league, 16 cup) according to Transfermarkt. That works out at 38 minutes per appearance, or 48 full matches. He has scored 17 goals, which is one every 256 minutes, or one goal every 2.85 matches based on 90-minute appearances.

I've never heard Carrie Brownstein but the rest of the list is pretty good. Gilmour being the only one I've seen in real life though.
