Bit sceptical about this, bit of mind games methinks.

Actually, yes. Toodle-pip. Originates circa 2002, a verb, 1. to ramble, incessantly, often with an overwhelming sense of entitlement. 2. to say something that one has no intention of doing.

Rivalries aside, I hope it's debilitating.

Yep, almost a shame that Boris Johnson isn't still in Parliament so that he can't be held to account, not just for the shockingly bad deal that he and Frosty foisted on us but also that he lied through his teeth to everbody, politicians and public alike and especially in NI, about pretty much all the facets of the deal and what it would mean in practice. Par for the course for a serial liar obviously, and many of us knew so at the time (including many Tory MPs who still went ahead and voted it through anyway) but the Tories have been so slow and incompetent at implementing this shambles that we've still to experience the full impact.

I genuinely have got no idea what you are talking about on any of your messages on this forum. the amount of b0llocks you talk is quite something

On the rare occasions I lurk on here the same person drones on about his shareholding puts me right off his/this forum. Essex you might be a nice fellow but please.. Go away, sort out your private affairs with Norwich City Football Club and leave the forum to talk about football- heaven forbid. PS if anyone wants to buy membership now it's their business. If the club offers it then fans have the right to buy it. No biggie anyway as Wembley has 37,000 tickets and last time they were still on sale the day before the Middlesbrough game. Every one who wants one will get one. If we get there 🙏 OTBC!

It's 'baked' into the Good Friday agreement for starters - Good luck renegotiating that! https://davidallengreen.com/2023/07/why-the-united-kingdom-government-cannot-leave-the-echr-without-either-breaching-or-re-negotiating-the-good-friday-agreement/ Simple truth is that nobody rational thinks we should leave (including Sunak) or indeed could in this parliament (hence it's a hypothetical call by Sunak simply for dim party reasons) but it's a useful dog whistle for the unthinking 'right' at present. Woof woof.

That puts all of the risk back on us though. This summer we could get a decent fee for him. Give him another go here next season and if he goes backwards again that puts us back to square one with an asset nobody wants, and we won't be able to boost his reputation again with a loan in the following season as he'd then be available on a Bosman at the end of that season. Strike while the iron is hot and get as much as we can for him, reinvest in somebody else.

It's been brought to my attention that I've been called an idiot by a person who supports Brexit and now wants us to leave the UN and the ECHR. His suggestion for after we leave these institutions is to give them a ring and tell them in no uncertain terms that if they don't change we won't be coming back.

Lack of investment again. Not enough suitably qualified staff to handle asylum claims, not enough investment in humane enough facilities to house them, not enough investment in collaboration with other countries. Been a problem for a long time, this is just where it's coming to a head.

Refugees are not responsible for the shortage of council/social housing. There was a problem long before idiots started blaming them. If people have missed out it isn't due to refugees, they need to direct their 'anger" at those who have allowed the shortage to happen.

"If you applied for asylum but have not yet received a final decision or you are waiting for the result of an appeal against a refusal of asylum, you cannot get an allocation of housing from the council, or get help if you are homeless. You can't get universal credit or housing benefit to pay your rent. You can apply direct to a housing association or for private rented accommodation, but in England where immigration checks apply you will not have the ’right to rent’ and landlords cannot accept you as a tenant. You can however stay with friends or family."

I think it was. How and where we played him was a big part of the issue. To displace Pukki and lead with Sarge would've been a very brave decision, but we had to make sure we had a successor who had a wider pallette at his disposal, and that's what we got, and could only have got him as we were prem league.

On the same day Sunak called on Israel to act in accordance with international law, he fulminated in an interview with Sun slob Harry Cole that the UK should not be subservient to some "foreign court", and should consider withdrawal from the ECHR. It was a lie of course, the European CONVENTION on Human Rights is fully integrated into UK domestic law. The fact that the physical court itself is based in Strasbourg is entirely irrelevant to the laws that hold of all those member nations who are signed up to the ECHR. The court itself is as much our court as any other court based in the UK, just as it is the case for every other ECHR member nation. What has the ECHR done for us: https://x.com/TobiFrenzen/status/1625293800158420996?s=20

Today - I note its ASLEF going on strike again. This extortion has to be ended. The trains anyway are a mess - need a complete restructuring as they don't work for anybody. Sack the drivers, make redundant (statutory minimum terms) and close it all down for a month in the summer - and then re-advertise new jobs / new modern terms on sensible pay with new companies. Take it or leave it. I'm fed up subsidizing these over paid goons.

I genuinely can’t remember the last time I’ve been on a train back from London that was as you’d expect. Every time for years either mine has been cancelled so I’ve had to get another one, or was crammed because another service had been cancelled and about three trains’ worth of people were cramming onto mine. And let’s not get started on anything going east/west instead of north / south… I only travel by train now if the company is paying and if it’s for a meeting I wouldn’t mind getting out of!

Sorry I'm late. I'm going for a home win for NK Zagora v. NK GOSK Dubrovnik in Croatia 3.NLSouth. Good Luck, Inchy! Good Luck with the match bet, Hissing Sid! Nutty, will also send a donation to you for Sarcoma UK.

As you no longer have access to away tickets due to no longer being an AD and because you are not an away member you appear somewhat concerned about where you will be in the pecking order for Wembley tickets.

There was always going to be one or two. Little tip though: Never be fair arguing with these guys. I used to make that mistake until I realised they're never fair or honest themselves and simply ignore or deny anything that doesn't suit their arguments, or if that fails just resort to mockery and laughing emojis.
  42. 1 point
No, you're just pretending that I haven't. And if they're already in UK legislation then we don't lose the protection of them by leaving the ECHR and are free to remove the specific ones that are forcing us to keep failed asylum seekers in the UK. What's your genius plan for dealing with the problem then? Carry on pretending it doesn't exist?
  43. 1 point
All those rights long predate our signing up to the ECHR, and would still be there if we left it
  44. 1 point
Me grow up! You want to isolate an entire country 😂 But with you, Nigel and 30p Lee in charge I'm sure it will be fine......
  45. 1 point
Well if we have the legal right to withdraw then we may as well. What could possibly go wrong? The main advantage would be that there would be no human rights at all. Books would be burned and people with funny noses gassed and nothing could be done about it. But perhaps we could create a court that was part of the UK legal system to deal with that sort of thing. Perhaps a court something like the one Winston Churchill helped create?
  46. 1 point
The big difference is Cambridge is not a banned poster but Bill/City1st is.
  47. 1 point
Of course we can withdraw - the problem is of course is it's written into a great many aspects of our laws, the NI 'treaty' and many others such as the EU trade deal. Add to that only Belarus and Russia are outside it in Europe! Anyways - for all the obvious reasons leaving the ECHR is 'for the birds' (notice period 6 months too). It's just a dog whistle by a desperate Sunak.

Sheeran is music for people that don't care about music and just want something in the background whilst driving to work or whatever. He's personally always made my skin crawl a bit, even before It came to my attention that he was a scummer/chelsea fan.
