Not really. The thing that is incredibly good about Teemu's game is his movement and his anticipation. As Emi took the shot he was already moving forward so that he would be in prime position to pick up any rebound from the keeper or the woodwork or any deflection from a block by a defender. If you watch Teemu closely you will see that this is something he does just about every time we have a shot from around the edge of the area. Most of the time the ball doesn't fall for him, but if it does he will be in the best possible position to take advantage from it. As Gary Lineker often says - As a striker you make a run 10 times. 9 times out of 10 it doesn't come to you and nobody notices, but you keep on doing it because the other time it does and you will be in a great position to score.

I think it's easy to underestimate just how much our passing around the back saps the energy out of opposing teams. Although it makes many of us nervous, inviting teams to press us hard as our defence and midfield exchange passes pays off far more often than it fails us. Can't say I was particularly suprised that Brum couldn't maintain their intensity of the first-half. There are no doubt many reasons why City tends to look fitter than the opposition towards the end of games, but chief among them is the tactic of drawing them into chasing us down. Those teams that don't get drawn into this ploy typically withdraw into their own half in a turgid effort to defend in numbers. Then, of course, they are vulnerable to the moments of excellence that the likes of Buendia, Cantwell, and Pukki et al can conjour up in a second of genius. Farke forever!!!!

Welcome to being a club with similar problems to a club like Ajax...Emi Buendia wasn’t a £20 million player when he came here, and neither was Todd Cantwell, or James Maddison.

I have written to the speaker ( Lindsay Hoyle ), on 2 occasions complaining at Johnson not answering the question, or telling lies. I was told to take it up with Johnson!! As far as I am concerned Hoyle is complicit with the Tories, and his independence, is a joke. Hansard should also be a fact checker, and should not only highlight the lies, but the liars should be held to account in the chamber.

I’m starting to see a few posts saying that Hanley isn’t good enough for the PL. Personally I think the evidence has been different, when he came back after injury last season *and got match-fit* our defence improved significantly. And he has undeniably been a rock this season too. Let’s give him a chance before getting on his back. My confident prediction is that we’ll start with Hanley and Gibson next season if we do go up, there are many more urgent areas we need to upgrade.

That would be absolutely quality, those down the road wouldn't like that. What's not to like, as long as we stay top two, obvs.

Agree, the reason I have put a lot of faith in Zoe is of course because it has over 4 million, albeit self selected, contributors but mainly because whatever methodology they use they have nearly always been very close to ONS random data, so a good up to date barometer, hence my rather repetitive but heartfelt concerns expressed about their figures showing a recent upturn. I am pleased they have rectified the loss of accuracy which I think related to them not having sufficient regard to to the success of the vaccine in their model.

I for one only get my news from unbiased sources such as the Guardian and TheNewEuropean, thank you very much

Back to subject. Wycombe beat a promotion rival and had their centre back sent off who was in last week Sky championship team of the week who will now be suspended against us. What’s not to like ??

I wonder how many of these people who think ID cards / vaccine passports and the like are an invasion of privacy have shop loyalty/ reward cards?

HAHAHAHA! "right-winged", you really aren't a scholar of the English language are you? And perhaps you can take some time today to email The Times, The Telegraph, The Daily Express, The Daily Mail, The Sun to let them know that they are left-wing papers (I'm sure they will be interested to hear that).

Go balls out for a win against Wycombe, then that heaps more pressure on Brentford to come at us. If we can beat Wycombe, then Brentford is almost a free hit, in terms of them having to try and win the game. That is when we are at our best. If we control the ball, they'll have to play bloody well to beat us. 4 points from these next 2 games would be awesome, but even getting 3 would not derail our season. Brentford have to beat us, we don't have to beat them.

To be honest I don't think we could replace him with one player. It would take at least two.

Tonight's was easily the best away commentary so far as it didn't make me want to rip my ears off.

Having to listen to away commentary some weeks really makes you appreciate Chris Goreham. I always had an inkling that he was pretty good based off of years of listening and the ease at how you could follow the game without seeing it, but now comparing him to every other local commentator he is a clear cut above. He's a very good, knowledgeable, fair and insightful commentator and for me matches aren't as good to watch on ifollow when opposition radio or Phil Daly is on instead

Yes I was thinking about that too. Poor Todd took the brunt of those frustrations for not being Emi!

There’s also Room 101 in 1984, where everyone is confronted with their worst fear. Norwich being promoted might be up there if you’re an 1p5wich supporter?

Yeh fair enough. Although in our favour is that - provided he keeps his nose clean attitude-wise - he's guaranteed 38 games in the premier next season (if all goes to plan!). Regardless of the attractiveness of clubs in European competitions, I'll be disappointed if we don't at least TRY to keep him by offering our most lucrative contract ever to him.

Strongest starting 11 we can put on. Smash em! We have to bear in mind Swansea have 3 games in hand so we aren't as ahead as we seem

Very difficult for any opposition atm typified for me by Matt Hancock patting John Ashworth on the head for supporting the Government. I thought Starmer was the right man for the job, I am now having some doubts but maybe judge him on his performance over the coming years rather than just the immediate crisis.

There’s changes because of form and changes to give a rest. Vrancic possibly could drop out of the team but for Onel rather than Dowell who hasn’t done anywhere near enough to force the change. Gibson clearly needs to come back in when fit. As for resting the players well I just don’t see the evidence for it on the pitch. Calls on here for Skipp to be rested yet there he is running the whole length of the pitch in the 90th minute to support the break for our third goal. I’m sure if players were tiring to the point that their stamina was dropping off then our sports scientists who know.

Maybe they think he has a face for radio! 😊

The worst thing about this season is that, much like when you are having a good time at the pub and suddenly notice you will die one day, I keep realising we are going to have to find a replacement for Skipp.

I thought after 70 mins it was Birmingham who looked tired. BTW Does anyone ever celebrate a win anymore? That's four wins on the bounce 67 points from 32 games (Have we ever had that many before?) If only we could go, enjoy the wins and then celebrate.

Thing is LOTO is probably the hardest job in UK politics. SKS has no power, and opposition is purely symbolic in the face of a massive Tory majority. The Covid announcements are being shamlessly used by the Conservatives as free party political broadcasts and there is a small vaccination bounce for Johnson that is totally unearned. The next election is 3+ years out, be patient and remember that there is a very real difference between a Labour government and this bunch of incompetant truth twisters.

Well we have Pups backing City bringing home the dough so congrats to them. Want to say particular hard luck to Diesel as it's tough when it's one pick that doesn't get over the line. It's not an easy task getting a six though as many know and earlier this season one of my picks sunk a six so you're in good company.

Simplistic nonsense I'm afraid Mr Moy. Buendia has been booked 15 times in his Norwich career. On two of those occasions he has then picked up another yellow and been sent off. If he had been dragged off the moment he was booked in those 13 other games people would have been up in arms complaining. Emi just has to learn to keep his head and not respond to provocation, because he's going to get an awful lot more of it between now and the end of the season.
  48. 1 point
Emi - we don't want you to be sold so what we want you to do is to go out and lose your head every game and get sent off - you'll be f**k all use to us, but at least the fans won't complain that we've sold you.
  49. 1 point
Right... The consensus is that we can’t win without Buendia (1 game in 14 now), not that we don’t lose when he’s in the team. But well down for picking out 2 of our 3 losses in our last 24 league games...

Recently finished a wildlife pond on a clients land, it was a suck it and see project. Luckily we hit good quality clay about 40cm down, hence the plan expanded as we could pretty much guarantee it would hold water, it now measures approx 25mx20m....and max depth 2m , with shallow margins and varying depth. The reason I am posting this is that it filled during last weeks rain, froze over on Friday and the, client just messaged me to say two mallard rose off the pond when she came around the corner!! .....its alive.!!! We have plans to introduce local waterplants in the near future and a few brown trout once its settled in. Most critters will find their own way in, I'll post again on the subject as developments occur. The above photo was taken the day we finished digging and shaping. Ill post another of it brim full next time im over there.
