Good stuff. Thanks for putting this up. At the risk of getting shot down in flames it's nice see a female one for a change. Thought she was very good, a genuine fan in despair at the state of her beloved team. Thought she really was going to cry at one point and was honest enough to admit we could have scored a lot more goals. Nit picking to say needs to get the sound quality improved but this was excellent.

Rivo definitely my favourite co-commentator. Also loved this from the Bolton forum:

It took me till ICF's post that you weren't talking about John Ruddy.

Thanks to ICF for storing my bag in his car at the Preston game and resssurring me it would get through the gate at Bolton which is did. Imagine it, the security man didn't want to search my bag too much after I said there was dirty socks etc in there. A tip there for all you budding anarchists wanting to hide your flares etc. Impressed with Preston who pressed us a lot harder than Bolton ever came near to doing and took full advantage of our complacency to get the 3 points. We just had no luck once we woke up, but deserved the kick up the backside. Bolton(Match title to be called "Bolton had no Bovril" after which the fact they had none to sell me). Sublime play from Norwich and the best I'd ever seen them. Awesome to see a pretty amazing Pukki goal at the away end as well. I always like a lobbed ball goal. Oh. Let Pukki take the penalties.

Just to add I didn’t think we had the depth in our squad at the begging of the season, totally wrong in that, we have a great squad for this level, I’m impressed with Webber & Farke in getting out players who just didn’t appear to deliver for us and give the youngsters the chance. Nothing new in being wrong for me!👍😉

I only expected the bag to be stored for 75% of the game so that's brilliant guys🙃👍

As good as Maclean is, or might be, in all honesty at the moment Leitner is different class. No worries, he'll be fully fit for next week and he will start. You have to play your best players against the better teams and that definitely includes Bristol City

To be honest Duke I thought his first goal was one of the best striker's goals I've ever seen. Pace through the middle, magnificent touch, perfect cut in, eyes to the keeper, and the finish. All in the blink of an eye.

I also would like to mention Buendía, he’s so good with his all round game it’s noticeable how he’s normally taking more than one opposing player to mark him, he’s definitely making more space around him, which in turn allows time and space for the likes of McLean today, Leitner and others to play killer balls through. He’s an amazing talent and for me bigger impact to this side than Maddison last season. Excellent to have an abundance of top class players who are confident and love playing in the Farke style.

it is the league record that Pukki might overhaul otherwise Ralph had a bit of the 'Alf Tuppers' here " He turned up on a motorbike ten minutes before the kick-off on 16 December, before he got onto the pitch to make his Vale Park debut against Shrewsbury Town – he then preceded to score a hat-trick in what was a 4–1 victory for the "Valiants" "

I too remember him Ricardo although your memory is much better than mine. I found this piece confirming your recollections........ "Clubs played for: Portsmouth, AFC Bournemouth, Norwich City, Derby County, Grimsby Town, Swindon Town, Port Vale, Newport County, Chesterfield (1952-1964) Born: 1933 Birthplace: Portsmouth Died: 1964 Position: Forward Biography: Centre forward whose goal-scoring career took off after he left Fratton Park. He only managed five starts in his two years as a professional before moving along the coast to play for Bournemouth. It was while with his next club, Norwich City that he started to regularly hit the back of the net - he scored 67 goals in 124 league matches, and his 31 goals in the 1955-56 season is still a club record. Portsmouth boy Hunt, then took his goal scoring boots around the country, eventually signing for Chesterfield in 1964. He was tragically killed in a car accident in the same year, he was only 31 at the time."

I read that last night too FW. It was reacting to a total Lambert-Lover who was waxing lyrical about a two game unbeaten run! Thick as mince.

Quote from TWTD... Draw your home games and lose your away games. Great strategy. 🤣

Absolutely love Pukki. I dont think anyone anticipated him turning into quite the player he has. Testament to what Farke is doing at the club, every single player is improving and the system he has imposed on the team is not just a joy to watch but its also an incredibly bold strategy in this league. I cant remember a team playing football the way we do in the Championship and being successful. The recruitment has been eye watering. Leitner, Buendia, Zimmermann, Pukki and Trybull for a total of about 4mill is unreal business. Pukki is quite simply the best pure finisher we've had since Bellamy. He has a lot to his game and brings lots of different attributes to the team. The way he took both goals yesterday was outstanding. When you consider the sums villa spent to get a 20 goal a season striker (Hogan, Kodjia, Fatty McCormack), it shows how tough it is to find someone like Teemu and the fact that we didnt pay a penny for him is astonishing. I actually feel that this team could hold their own in the Prem, and with one or two class additions could really do some damage. Pukki is so clinical that i would back him to return a decent goal haul at that level too. Pukki is definitely right up there as one of my favourite all time canaries. Not just for the goals but the way he plays and what he brings to the team.

Glad you got sorted for this buddy and got to see a superb display yday. Ive got a mate who lives in Stockport (from London so a spurs fan) so Im still up North as i crashed at his last night. I was extolling the virtues of the football we play under Farke before i left for the game... he watched the highlights and his response was pretty much blown away by the football we are playing. Couldnt believe we were playing it in the Champs and making it work. His direct quote was 'beautiful football, unreal'. Which kind of says it all really. Think he thought i was exaggerating when i was purring about how good it is pre-game.

Leitner would be exactly the type we need for Bristol City. His vision could really set the tempo against a team used to having their own way, such is their good play. I suspect unless he is 100% we might not risk him starting straight away. The business end of the season is approaching and we need him for the whole of that.

Good grief, this is the first time I have read through this thread It seems people want to over complicate the World sometimes. So, when a player scores, will we eventually, as fans, have to temper our celebrations, according to the level of chance that the goal came from? A 'harder' chance means a higher level of celebration, and if it is a tap in, do we all do a collective 'Meh'? These stats create talking points but how exactly do they influence a game? Is it just to relieve 'pressure' from a player, in as much as they would not be admonished because they were not 'expected' to convert a particular chance? I'll let those guys rack up the analysis, I am going outside to enjoy the sunshine

Blades are a good side too, regardless of what we think of Wilder, he's done a great job with them..... it's gonna be close.

Everyone's prerogative Lakey. By the way, surely you've acquired some Cummerlan dialect from your sojourn up there. Don't tell me you still call a stream a stream and not a beck! 😉

I think this team hasn't reached maximum potential yet. I think we're going to get even better as we approach the finish line.

I don't think I've ever seen us with such a high overall skill level - with confidence to match. I think I've spotted a rather cunning plan at work as well; when there's no obvious passing move on the man with the ball dribbles towards the touchline, drawing at least a couple of players towards him & thus out of position. He then executes a 270 deg. turn, cuts back inside & passes to the player now freed up. Anyone else notice this?

Leitner looked good when he came on and looked commanding straight away, but we were miles in the lead by then. It will take a few games for him to get right back to full match fitness so I would stick with the team that started today and see if we can put away Bristol City with the same panache the players did today. Once in the lead, then bring him on to help stifle the opposition as they try to get back in. If we don't get in the lead without him, or go behind, he is still ideal to bring on to ensure we keep posession and get back in it.

Strange last year was, at times difficult to watch and the contrast to this season is stunning. Really looking forward to the last quarter of this campaign. Some great games coming up me thinks.

Well done Swindon, unlucky Purple. Nutty, it was nice to see you on the wireless tonight, but I think you need to think carefully before considering inviting me to do this again............

The football that we've been playing has been absolutely beautiful. Such a joy to watch us work the ball around the pitch and then with a quick pass or two we're in on goal and finishing strong.
