I blame Farke...when he let Russell Martin go he never replaced him with an experienced scapegoat.😏 Apples

Pretty much agree with all of that Ian, game by game Krul improves. 10 games or so ago the moaning bastids on here didn't give him much attention, of course now with a dearth of negative fodder, seizing on one perceived goalkeeping error feeds there need to criticise something.

Krull will be disappointed with the goal we conceded on Saturday I'm sure. But watch again the ball skids off the wet surface and picks up speed from this,- the first rule of goalkeeping is to stop the ball going in the net - by having his body behind the ball he achieves this- the additional pace means that his hands aren't quite in the correct position to hold the ball and it rebounds off his chest back into open play - hardly a spill as he never had his hands on the ball - his reaction to get to the ball was quick and only the fact that it broke to the other Swansea player did it result in a goal. A poor goal to concede by any goalkeeper and as I say I'm sure TK will feel disappointed but a major mistake, not really for me. We have an able and capably Keeper in Mr Krull (from what I've seen)-will he be good enough if we are promoted -what a nice problem to have to think about. But leave out the needing a replacement this season.

I laugh when people think all these goalkeepers that have been around the Championship are consistent and don't make mistakes - the reason people think that is because they don't see them play for 90 minutes every week. I do think Krul had a shaky start but I also think he's generally improved and his pro's outweigh his negatives.

Vrancic it is then, he deserves a start...

Agreed, full strength is what we should be going for after 6 consecutive wins. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to be left out or Farke wanting to leave them out (unless forced to). Yes we have good cover in the squad but those being discussed for being rested (Leitner, Buendia) have been crucial of late and I’m sure will be itching to get back out and carry on. Only make changes if absolutely necessary, worry about team selection for Rotherham after tomorrow.

Norwich still kept out (on goal difference) of the coveted ‘top 4’ of the European club form table by the old foe, Ludogorets. https://www.whoscored.com/Statistics/Teams Just the latest twist in City’s perennial tussle with the boys from Razgrad.

New manager bounce got them 2 points from Reading and Preston. Check again in a couple of weeks time.

"Tell me Father, what is the Churches position on twice taken penalties?" "That would be an ecumenical matter".

Has anyone who thinks this was a "clanger" actually looked closely at the shot that was made? From a long way out, but through a crowd of players making it difficult to see it coming, to compound the difficulty it bounces a a few feet in front of him. Could he have done better? Maybe, but to make a big deal of it is ridiculous in a match we won 4-1.

I know it's early but thought I'd get the party started as I just spotted some relevant news. Frazier Campbell is suspended, which is massive as he's their main goal threat. We don't need to rely on these type of things but it's certainly not going to do us any harm. Presuming no injuries I would be happy to see the same starting 11 and would expect it to be the case. At least 800 of us will be there, so it is another cracking effort from the best fans in the country, turning up in numbers for a bitter Tuesday night in Hull.

For me the perfect January would simply be - one in and one out. Sell olive whose time here is spent Buy a new keeper as krul still hasn’t convinced me and competition is needed in any case. McGovern not good enough

name the nine N Ireland internationals (along with Jamal Lewis) to have played for Norwich City in the last 20 years. answers to follow at 10.00pm so please do not post any here so as others can have a try, ta the original question comes from a twitter link provided else where by Heck it's Fleck

No ICF, there's one more Team below Hull but they're so far adrift it wouldn't fit on the page ( or the next page!).... wonder who that is?

I remember a stage in the Prem in the season we were relegated when Ruddy made a major mistake, costing a goal, in pretty much every game in succession. He was never the same keeper after his injury. But hey....

We've been getting mentioned for weeks, as JF pointed out. And yes, of course they're going to mention other teams. This week they praised Kemar Roofe more so than Leeds as a team. Rightly so too. 'We were hardly talked about' is not even close to accurate. I'm not sure what show you were watching. I didn't see the one where Murray was talking 'through gritted teeth' - If anything it was almost an apologetic tone, to other fans who have to hear about us each week. People are talking about us, and they're talking about the teams around us. Stop being a victim.

Take a look at Poorman Rd on match day and it soon becomes obvious there are many more Waveneys in this world than there are binners. 😀

Another reason to blame Krul for that spill! 🤣

It is difficult to compare eras as football has changed so much over the years. I believe Walker played the diamond formation and under Lambert it sometimes felt like the charge of the light brigade. Both were very exciting but during the Lambert era there were times when I felt we were invincible and there was a massive togetherness at the club. It has taken Farke a year to get where we are today. When I think of the turnover of players and a complete change of football philosophy, I cannot believe we are top of the table, and some even feared that relegation was a real possibility. The collective skills level of the team is up there with anything I have seen in the past. How we ended up with Leitner for just over a million pounds, I have no idea. You just have to watch him play and look at the stats to realise how good he is, and he is surrounded by players who can carve teams open. When you consider that Vrancic, Trybull and Hanley( I know he has been injured )are not in the starting eleven, we have the makings of a very special team and for now I am just enjoying the ride.

If we rip out all the seats in the Lower Barclay how many of those displaced will want to stand on terracing? Has there been any investigation at all? Because some of the people I see supporting the concept of safe standing wouldn't go on the terraces while they have a hole in their polo.

This young man teamed up though with the FSF and it was them who issued a statement thanking those who signed the petition i believe shortly before it was presented to Parliament where it was discussed in June the same month that the Hillsborough charges were brought. When this sensitivity arose that you mentioned i am not sure about in that case.

They have been praising us for weeks on there. As he said they have to share the praise around and they couldn’t say any more than they have been for some time now.

I think it's only fair to put all the blame on Krul for the goal yesterday. After all, it's not like he shut the rebound down with an excellent block and the defence played musical statues and did not react to it at all... the defence had no part in yesterday and covered themselves in glory with their rapid response to the danger. Seriously. We're top of the league, having won 6 straight and scored 4 goals in each of the past 3 games (two of them away). Anyone looking for an excuse to whinge is a grade A ****.

“I do not even think that yesterday was as big a blunder as is being made out, although one report described the 'keeper as "spilling" the shot. It was in fact a long range , low shot hit with power that somehow made it's way through a crowded penalty area. Krul would have seen it late, it may have had a slight deflection, his effort and subsequent recovery were adequate and excellent in that order.” i would be just as concerned that when Krul did recover enough to block the first shot, it was then passed into the net, and in all that time our defenders didn’t move. If they’d have reacted to it instead of standing watching we could have possibly cleared the ball away.

What is it with this (small) group of poster's who seem determined to keep on Krul's back and seem anxious to jump upon every perceived "mistake" by the 'keeper when the truth is that he is now doing a consistently good job between the posts since his initial horror show. I, personally, feel that his signing was a good piece of business by the club and that we are fortunate to have a player of his calibre on the books. Do his critics actually still yearn for the days of young Angus Gunn between the sticks? Well the youngster made a few mistakes himself last season I seem to recall, and remind me just how much he cost Southampton just to sit on the bench. Krul has played well for City since the WBA game. He has fitted into the the team ethos admirably and seems very much part of the healthy set up that seems to have come about. I seem to remember the bad throw incident was discussed last time and many concluded that if a 'keeper is required to dispose of the ball quickly and short then occasionally he will get it wrong. By and large, Krul's distribution is good. So to yesterday's mishap. Do we expect an impeccable goalkeeper who is able to cleanly stop every shot aimed at the goal every time? Does one even exist? I do not even think that yesterday was as big a blunder as is being made out, although one report described the 'keeper as "spilling" the shot. It was in fact a long range , low shot hit with power that somehow made it's way through a crowded penalty area. Krul would have seen it late, it may have had a slight deflection, his effort and subsequent recovery were adequate and excellent in that order. No mention either of the good saves he did make during the rest of the game, particularly one where he came out to somehow intercept a ball to prevent what seemed like a certain goal for the Swans. Krul is one of those goalkeepers who is never reluctant to leave his line, Bruce Grobelaar style.Sometimes such performers can appear erratic, but it is called command of the box and is usually very effective in thwating opposition attacks. It seems that with little to find fault in the team at the moment some posters remain keen to keep digging. Lay off of Tim Krul. He'll do for me at least.

I'm pretty sure I heard Ed Balls say that most of our supporters choose to sit but many of those support the idea of having an area for those who prefer to stand. This is where I see a potential problem. Because as I've said before, although it's admirable that they support their fellow fans, many of the people publicly supporting safe standing won't be on those terraces even if it becomes legal. For me, before this ever reaches a point where our club consider spending money, there needs to be proper research done to find out how many actually want to use the standing area.

With projected costs against projected income having i believe a £21.2 million gap in 2018/19 coupled with our self funding model safe standing will be off the agenda for some years i would imagine.
