Yes this guy produced the cross where Rowe headed the winner against QPR. But before everybody get excited and goes overboard  -  what about the rest of his game ?  Defense-wise this guy makes Ben Gibson look a superhero ! If he had to mark a half-decent striker we would have been 2 or 3 down. Wing-backs are great when the player is equally effective both in defence and on attack - he is a lightweight who can cross a ball - nothing more.  David Warner praising him does not help - he needed a sharp kick between the legs to buck up his ideas.  I definitely don't want this guy near the team. If Stacey is injured just put in Sorensen.

He's 19 and was signed from non-league Bromley.

He was supposed to join our development squad. But impressed Wagner so much in pre-season that Mumba was sold, and Fisher fast-tracked into the first team squad.

He seems to be doing pretty well, if you ask me.

Overreaction much? The guy has played one game at a level three tiers above any he has played at before and you, in your infinite wisdom, decide he is useless. Jeez, the only useless one here is the poster.

Defensively LaUnion - defensively he looked like he was out-of-his-depth. Yes could be about 3 tiers difference !

All the yoofs are crap and we should bin off the academy. It's a miracle that we've managed to sell Aaron's, Lewis, Godfrey and the Murphy twins for actual money! Suckers! 😉

To be honest I think he’s brilliant considering he’s come from a non-league club and still only 19. You can’t expect too much from him yet, as before he made his debut for us he’d only played non-league football, and doesn’t even have masses of experience at that level

This is a non-topic.

The kid had his very first outing at a level much higher than he had previously experienced and apparently warmed to the occasion getting better as the game wore on (Wagner.)

The only relevant discussion surrounding Kellen Fisher should be concerned with the faith being shown in him by the club.

In that respect he seems to be an outstanding prospect.

Who is David Warner?

Ffs just leave the players alone.

Two wins and one draw where we should have won but for the ref and still some find time to have a dig at individuals.

How would you all feel if someone continuously criticises your work?

19 year old lad learning his trade. Leave him alone.

You have to be a special type of d*ckhead to decide, 2 days after a match, that you want to start a thread berating a young player on his first competitive start for the club.

Tbh, I’m pretty fu33ing sick of coming on here and reading post after post of crap about a player. And the counter argument will be “if you don’t like it don’t read it”- that’s a bit hard when someone will post a positive thread about a player then it’ll get derailed by someone saying “yeah they’re better than Idah too”… and the spiral begins

Didn't see the match so can't comment.  But as people have said already, he's very young and yet to develop his 'man strength'.

However, considering how well Stacey has started it is a concern that should anything happen Fisher is most likely to fill that position, he'd be in the deep end having to learn very quickly.   Let's hope that scenario doesn't occur, at least not early in the season.

From what I can tell from Wagner he seems to develop players very well, just as Farke did, where he gets down to the fine details with them.  I expect Fisher learnt much from the QPR match that he can work on now, he seems a very confident and driven lad to me.

He clearly needs to spend some time with Onel and Przemyslav's strength trainer as both seem to have packed some muscle on. At the same time, he just might have a bit of natural growing out to do. Pace and power are fundamental requirements for full-backs in Wagner's system and whilst he's certainly got a healthy turn of pace a bit more strength and robustness would be a nice bit of extra seasoning for him.

Young players can learn very fast, but they need opportunities - and that only comes by showing confidence in them and giving them minutes on the pitch. A young player with talent and with a good mindest will soak up that experience and make massive strides very quickly. He'll have that opportunity in the next cup match again - and why will he have that opportunity? Because he provided the winning cross for the goal.

He played, he learned and he did his bit to get the team into the next round. What's not to like?

If you didn't know anything about Kellen Fisher you'd believed he'd come from a top end L2 or low end L1 side. I've been impressed with how he's started out. Raw, yes. Made mistakes, yes. But massive potential and deserving of a spot in this squad. I can see Fisher and Rowe being our right flank for years to come.

We have literally JUST STARTED the season. No one really expected us to set the world alight, least of all us. Seen the last of our golden few (Aarons and Pukki) leave and yet people like you are ALREADY slagging of our players.

The boy has been given the chance of a lifetime, knows he is playing for his career, working his heart out, has played ONE game in which WE WON, and HE SET UP the goal. Yet you decide to criticise him in almost every sentence.

Really?

Honestly the state of the OP.

Personally, I think it's fantastic when a young player gets an opportunity. I only watched the game on Radio Norfolk where Goreham and Kenton said he did pretty well.

We even had some t w @ t on the match thread insist his cross for the winner shouldn't be counted as an assist!

Clearly a wind-up. Also, didn't we keep a clean sheet?

Think you are being harsh. Was his first proper senior professional game. He made a couple of errors and looked a bit shaky first half but second half (aside from letting the ball bounce in the area once) I thought he was very good, more aggressive and looked very promising.

No doubt it’s been snd will be a steep learning curve for him but I can see why he is rated. Looks like he could develop into a decent attacking full back.

I think he's probably still asleep, given the time he posted it I reckon alcohol and possibly psychedelics had been consumed. He's probably a little embarrassed today. One hopes..

I have to say that I am disappointed that nobody has yet seized their opportunity to point out that because of the "Suffolk socialists" we will only be able to afford to buy non league players from next season after the TV money runs out.
