chicken 3,000 Posted December 5, 2021 (edited) Just seen this via twitter and the talk Norwich City crew: A little bit of knowledge: Spurs famous home strip of white shirts and navy/dark blue shorts has been present since the 1898-99 season. Founded in 1882 they remain to be the only non-league club to have won the FA cup, back in 1901, since the football league was founded. They were also the first team to win the League and FA Cup double in the 1960-61 season and then the first British club to win a UEFA Club Competition in 1963 - the European Cup Winners Cup. PUPs for the CSF As is now part of weekly routine - please go check out Rays Funds for the CSF with the PUPs Season 15 Week 17 and help raise some dosh for a great cause. Also, very much worth taking a look at @nutty nigel's post for some more info on how that is changing in terms of part of it's name. Special shout out this week to @KiwiScot who started the thread earlier in the week - thank you! Edited December 5, 2021 by chicken 1

It's Character Forming 1,201 Posted December 5, 2021 I remember going to the win in 2012 and that Elliott Bennet shot 😀 superb.
In my blood 94 Posted December 5, 2021 Due a good result but if spuds play to their potential, i will take a competitive performance from us as some consolation .
The Real Buh 3,662 Posted December 5, 2021 3 at the back then so glad Sargent doesn’t start

GodlyOtsemobor 2,784 Posted December 5, 2021 Interesting line up, Idah getting a start 🤔

Ken Hairy 4,205 Posted December 5, 2021 Not confident at all today, less so seeing that line up. Could be a long afternoon
Yellow Fever 4,311 Posted December 5, 2021 (edited) I think this is the first Deano team. Only concern is DM roles Edited December 5, 2021 by Yellow Fever
yellowandgreen 34 Posted December 5, 2021 Really looking forward to this. Good to see the manager making changes. Come on you yellows.
Canary dwarf 221 Posted December 5, 2021 Interesting line up , tzolis , rupp , sargent , can have no complaints really .
Hank shoots Skyler 2,094 Posted December 5, 2021 Not a huge fan of that line up, guess we are matching them up, but can’t understand why Giannoulis wouldn’t be left wing back. Inverted wing back just kills the balance of the team, we saw it at Everton earlier in the season and Williams consistently struggles with getting forwards (apart from Brentford away)
Monty13 2,684 Posted December 5, 2021 Interesting choice, wasn’t expecting him to revert from the 433 that’s largely been successful. Bit concerned we will get overrun in midfield. Rupp is unlucky to lose his place IMO.
Yellow Fever 4,311 Posted December 5, 2021 I hope Aaron's and Williams have learnt to cross... and quickly.

His positioning and ability to read the game is pretty good too.

Thirsty Lizard 3,205 Posted December 5, 2021 Idah did give Newcastle something to think about when he came on on Tuesday - lets hope he can unsettle the Spurs defence today. Understand bringing back the extra pace of Omobamidele at the back as well. What are we calling the formation then? 5 - 1 - 2 -2?
Block Y Seat 176 80 Posted December 5, 2021 I’m sure Conte wasn’t expecting that team😂👏👊
TheGunnShow 7,079 Posted December 5, 2021 Fair play to @king canary (I think) for saying he was thinking three at the back in another thread and I said I thought a back four makes more sense with a new manager and a new-found sense of defensive solidity. cambridgeshire canary 7,552 Posted December 5, 2021 Not sure about no wingers, never liked it when we dont play them. Very interesting giving Idah a chance over Sargent.. Wonder if Dean is sending a message? Love to see Oma back mind. Not that any of this matters as its spurs so the match is a write off anyway but still😂
Robert N. LiM 5,744 Posted December 5, 2021 I think that team makes a lot of sense. I would have had Dimi at LWB, instead, though. I wonder if the selection of Williams suggests it's very much a 5-3-2 rather than a 3-5-2.

ron obvious 1,654 Posted December 5, 2021 I rather like this line-up. Good on 'im.
repman 691 Posted December 5, 2021 Playing 3 at the back also allows Aarons a bit more freedom going forward. Outside of Gilmour in that XI he is one of the best creative outlets we have, especially when Rashica is injured, Tzolis doesn't look ready, Cantwell still coming off the back of an injury. Glad to see Idah starting too, hopefully he can put himself about a bit and give Pukki an option to play off, which I think brings out the best in him. Pyro Pete 2,263 Posted December 5, 2021 As long as the wing backs push up, I don't have a problem with that formation. But if they drop deep, and we essentially play with a back five, the midfield is going to get overrun.
Don’t be Krul 445 Posted December 5, 2021 13 minutes ago, Yellow Fever said: I think this is the first Deano team. Only concern is DM roles Wouldn't have been had we had the likes of a Skipp in our midsts. Buendia has been a big miss but for me Skippy is a much bigger miss. Don't have to be big and hard to be a DCM but need the ability to read the game and recycle the ball quickly. Skipp has that in abundance.
BroadstairsR 2,272 Posted December 5, 2021 Surely Idah's inclusion in the starting line-up refutes the rumour of a loan to Forest or is it a very last chance for the boy to reveal his promise? We seem to have been here before with him. Included with the starters, and with some fanfare, only to disappoint and ultimately return to the fringes for a while.
