Transfer Rumour Thread Season 2021/22

As to the wider point, about whether Origi's international caps increase his current value, I would argue that they do. I imagine that his lack of minutes for Liverpool depresses his value to a far greater extent, as does Liverpool's apparent desire to move him on. However, the number of caps he's got for a top ranked nation point to the high regard he was held in at both club and international level - and that surely counts for something.

All true,  but the fact remains that he would be more expensive if he was a current  international...in that he represented his country in the most  recent competition....as in last week .

So in conclusion.... Yes, but no, but yes, but No , but....

So you think actually the wider non Norwich supporting public and players of other teams all view us as a big club. Okie dokie then.

Not what I said. But you alluded to the comments of Souness and Hartley... Souness, has not managed a team since Newcastle in 2006... It's longer than that since he had any real success as a manager. You also used their views to represent public views.

I have lived in various places and know people who are from other areas of the country and world and follow other teams. A lot like us for the way we play football and respect that. As for "big" - meh. We go back to the super league "top six" rubbish which ignores the fact that Leicester are not included despite outperforming Spurs and Arsenal for several seasons and at times Chelsea and Man Utd.

A number of big name players have come to us over the years, probably better asking them what the attraction was to them.

@Alex Moss initially railed against another poster merely calling Origi an "international" but has now decided to try to qualify that critique with "former" and "current".

I agree that the recency of international caps is likely to further increase value, but to say his 29 caps for Belgium have no impact whatsoever doesn't seem likely to me.

But, at the end of the day, valuations for anything, be they houses, businesses, or footballers are all subjective and simply come down to "whatever someone, who you can identify, is willing to pay at the moment you are willing to sell".

Crikey can we get this thread back on track and make a new one for the Origi debate.

Can we get back to the important stuff - will there be more or fewer scampi in a portion, now we're back in the Prem?

What's this about from Max's Instagram? A bit odd.  Does this add to Norfolkngood's assertion that one of our young'uns is off?  Why would you post something of you training with someone obviously not a Norwich coach?

Anybody provide any reassurance?

They’d only be in for fitness testing today, there won’t be any footballs being kicked. Probably doing this after

Yes, I can reassure you that you are suffering from that well-known seasonal illness - Summertransferwindowparanoiaitis.🤓

Very good point... I would also quite like to advocate a higher quality of tartar sauce.

The coach in the photo posted the same stuff a couple of days ago. This was not taken today.

There is no way that Norwich and any other club could keep it under wraps if the club had actually sold Aarons already. The agent would be telling everyone he could as a bit of promotion. Why would the buying club not announce it?

Yep does sound a bit strange, but if Norfolkngood has said the sale of one of the youngsters has already been agreed with another club then I would not doubt him. The reasons why it’s not all done and dusted publicly I have no idea, I’m sure there could be all sorts of reasons, but Norfolkngood over the years certainly has a very good track record indeed as someone on here ‘ITK’.

Also, is that not the coach(es?) That he was training with when he left Luton and didn't have a club?

Not sure, but not unusual at all for players to hire such coaches in their summer downtime to keep them in peak shape. Kieron Dowell in fact posted similar the other day. Don’t think anything can be read into this picture other than that Max is simply keeping himself in shape.

Maybe Max is just being a "swot" and trying to impress Farke with some additional work. 🙂

Were there no spies at the gates of Colney yesterday to check who did return from their hols though?

Yes. Irrational rhetorical-question anger is one of the classic symptoms of Summertransferwindowparanoiaitis. This looks like a bad case, shef, and you may need to see a specialist...

No, but there was a fella sat in the trees, on a blue bucket, looking through binoculars ,muttering to himself ....in Spanish.  ...." I thought they were skint, god they look good, but we are Champions, Champions of Europe....or so ive been told, a few million times".

Was trying to have a butchers at the entrance yesterday, Shef, but couldn’t get us any exclusives because some absolute bloody idiot in a blacked out Range Rover number plate ME55 1 was obscuring my damn view

Drmic gone back to Rijeka on a season long loan. Shame we couldn't get some £ for him

I suspect we got a loan fee along with some of his wages being paid at least. I think Webber confirmed that the players out of the picture last season do not earn promotion bonuses or PL contracts for our promotion either. So in many ways probably does make us some money - just not in the way a transfer fee would.

This seems to have come about from the PinkUn opinion piece which was about players at the Euros that Norwich could look at. A Swiss website picked it up saying 'English media says Norwich are interested in Zuber' and now this guy has picked that up and said Webber is in talks with Frankfurt.

It is a good demonstration how rumours are born out of very little and everyone likes to escalate it a bit to make it more 'clickable'.

Are Norwich really going to be interested in another left back when Giannoulis has just been confirmed for £6m?

Isn’t he a left winger, not a left back? I thought that’s where he’s been playing in the Euros.

Nmecha is great, but he Norwich haven't got £7m to spend on a back-up. That puts aside the who debate about whether Nmecha would want to be a back-up at Norwich right now.

Why are we looking at a backup to Pukki? why cant we spend £7m on Nmecha or £13m on Origi as a replacement to Pukki and have Pukki as back up? If the new player doesn't perform, we have Pukki to bring in. I know wages is an issue against Origi for example, but it doesn't mean there isnt another player out there, somewhere who can come in as our number 1.

Isn't there a Swiss fella in Crotia thats supposed to be good? 🤔😆

Is there actually such a thing as back up nowadays? For sure, there will alwys be the preferred starting eleven and Pukki has earned his place in that.

But, game situations change by the minute and the bench therefore becomes as important as the starters.

We need a top class striker for those situations. If the club decides that Idah and Hugill fill that gap, then fair enough.

I remain unconvinced, but Idah remains the mystery, whilst Hugill does what it says on the tin.

Fair point. For all the comments that Buendia didn’t have a great goal return in the Prem, neither did Pukki compared to his minutes played. And now his chief assist machine has departed, there’s every chance that Pukki won’t be able to deliver the goods this season.

There’s *a* chance he won’t be able to deliver the goods this season. You could just as easily argue that once he’s rested over the summer, and not suffering from injury, he will be back to the scoring form we saw at the beginning g of the last PL season.

He scored fairly often until he broke his toe...
