“Canary Call “ callers - what planet do they come from?

I haven’t listened to Canary call on radio Norfolk for a while, but did today driving back from the game! The most miserable, pathetic whinging dismal human beings ever heard. Are they even human?

There was plenty of promise on show today, good signs, perhaps you should watch the game before spurting your turgid negative garbage!!’

It was an exciting game today, there were some really good moves from us going forward, great goal, atmosphere was good…….totally different game to what you would have imagined listening to Canary call, not worth the listen!

I often listen to it walking back from the games. It's frankly embarrassing and I am absolutely certain they simply put various cretins on just antagonise listeners  😅

Agree with the OP,.

Got a lift home instead of using the bus, so had the opportunity (not sure that is the right word) to listen to Canary Call, some caller was blathering on about the togetherness of the team at Bristol City last season, "now they all want to leave".....really?..........Idah clearly wanted to leave at the end of last season and two players have wanted to leave this season, in what world is that "all"?......................

You have to be brain dead to not realise there is significant and rapid improvement taking place in both our forward play, and the direction and focus of the club. Comparing Oxford to today shows big steps have already been taken; will be extremely interested to see how we perform in our next match away from Carrow Road.

The way I always look at it is that had we won this 2-1 today, the majority of the negative twunts who ring in to CC would be singing Thorup's praises.

The trouble with callers into Canary Call on Radio Norfolk is that most do not see the game, either live or on tv. At best they will have listened to it. Therefore their views are not based on what they have personally seen but only on what a third party has reported ie the reporters views. On this basis the callers views on the game are not really relevant.

Canary Call would be a lot better program if it interviewed more people that had actually seen the game and less that had, at best, listened to it.

I agree with this.

This seems most obvious to those that go to the games (where there's no commentary) and then listen to other people's opinions who watched or listened online. The opinion of the non-attendees is remarkably different to those that went to the game and often very skewed. It's clearly influenced. 

There is a caveat that the online viewers have the benefit of [sometimes] the insight of an objective professionals opinion, but those times are scarce as soon enough the expert gets swayed themselves by the hand that feeds them.

I'm guilty of never ringing myself, but I think sensible, balanced listeners should make more of an effort to get involved with the show. They can only air the calls they get, and these blabbering idiots like Bernie and Paul are always going to ring because they think they're important and everyone needs to hear their god awful takes. 

 

Obviously that doesn't mean blind positivity all the time but you can tell the difference between somebody who has made up their mind to bash the team before a ball was even kicked and somebody who has genuine criticisms about a game they've just watched.
