Grade the window thus far A-E

So how do you think this window was? 5 in and lots out, one incomer crocked already.

Grade the rebuild from A to E - how do you think it was?

You go first.

It’s 7 in, not 5.  Reyes, Fisher, Duffy, Sainz, Barnes, Stacey, Fassnacht

I’d go with B/B- so far: we have replaced all (senior) leavers, and imo one of the main issues was fitness and giving the likes of Nunez/Sara a preseason (sadly the latter’s was shortened by illness). We just have to see how it pans out.

C minus from me

I think we have regressed not progressed overall.

Barnes < Pukki

Sainz < Toddy

stacey < Aarons (he will go)

fisher < Mumba

but

Reyes > McGovern

Duffy > Byram

Rating just on basis of perceived player quality is a bit off, it's more about do the players have enough quality and moreover, do they have the skillset for what the manager aims to do?

I'd say a "B" based on the fact we needed experience and operators who were battle-hardened to Championship football to reinforce the spine of the team. In Duffy, Barnes and Stacey we've suddenly got a lot more of it. Barnes looks more suited to this style of play than Pukki ever did. Got a couple of promising youngsters and Fisher's possibly been the stand-out of pre-season.

Any grade here will be a guess though as ultimately performance in the season will determine how good the transfers were. But I do think Webber and chums have worked out a plan and are applying it from the little I can see as a fan.

Unlike you to be negative.

You don’t seem to realise Fassnacht signed. He’s the Todd comparison if you have to have one, and is far better than the 22/23 Todd model

Are you citing Sainz being worse than Cantwell? Even though Cantwell didn't leave this window? And, that they don't even play in the same position? Wow. Just wow...

I'm surprised that you didn't cite Pukki replacement, Kellen Fisher as a downgrade

It’s a team game. Wait 5-10 games into the season.
one thing is for sure, we won’t be pushed around by the opposition this year, like we were last year.

ins

stacey more than adequate replacement for Aarons

duffy seasoned pro in prem

those signings will sure up our defence

barnes exprienced enough and will bring on others

sainz unknown quantity - injuries happen

fassnacht - on paper Great signing but will need to adapt

Reyes - will be kruls replacement in a few years

fisher - think he’s ready for first team - what a find

scottish lad we signed last week who’s name escapes me, highly rated but into Academy I would guess

outs

Pukki wasn’t interested any more

dowell - sick note

mumba - never consistently performed above league one, not bothered about him going

Byram - sick note

Josh Martin - shît attitude

Sinani - shït

McGovern - great servant but needed to move on

Reason not given an A is I believe we needed another midfielder of the Tettey mould and probably another striker, if we sell Omo and Aaron’s I’d move Warner into cb contention, bring fisher forward a back up for Stacey and buy a DM and striker

Completely incompetent I’m afraid conehead

how is Reyes better than the more experienced McGovern? Not saying he won’t be but what proof have you got?

Duffy centre back, byram full back so again how can you draw comparison

get your head out of your arsë wake up and smell the bacon

C-

Would like to see Aarons ,Rashica , and Andy O Leave

reinvest in some youth players , Sign the best young prospects we can afford from the lesser teams around the world ,

We have done it before with the likes of Lewis / Maddison / Godfrey ,

More like Fisher and Gibbs who look exactly the type we should be going after to build for the future

He’d have given Jesus a D for not feeding more people with the loaves and fishes and a D- when the wine he produced from water wasn’t a vintage Premier Cru Chablis.

But to be fair, for this poster to have a scale that stops at E rather than going all the way down to Z- is uniquely optimistic…

So we’ve regressed but you predict us 2 places higher than last year based in your latest prediction?

interesting contradiction

It would appear to be a more balanced squad. I genuinely don't think Pukki (of the last two seasons), Aarons (of last season, if he goes), Rashica (if he goes) or Mumba are any great loss and we have made some good acquisitions. I'll actually be disappointed if we lose Andy O as we don't need to and he'll hopefully have a better season. But who knows how they'll actually perform?

That's unkind. Not every City signing is in the EADT.

Thankfully no one is grading this chap (?) on his knowledge of our club

If the right offer comes in, he is off whether we like it or not

This window in isolation is not bad at all. But we're still trying to recover from the U two summers ago. And, because we failed our GCSEs, we're now only doing a random BTEC and hoping to get onto some performing arts HND course and, ultimately, joining the circus. Yay!
