king canary 5,394 Posted November 25, 2022 I'm fine with it if he's signed to be a back up/rotational type player. If he's still starting week in week out next season then I'll be severely underwhelmed.

hogesar 6,950 Posted November 25, 2022 Good news. Been one of our better midfielders this season and I'm not shocked that those who are experienced in football within the club seem to think so too. 10

HazzaJet 204 Posted November 25, 2022 I’m perfectly happy about this, and think that he gets a lot of unnecessary criticism. No, he’s not PL quality but he’s fine in the Championship
KeiranShikari 1,047 Posted November 25, 2022 Certainly one of the very few players out of contract in the summer that I would have renewed.

Capt. Pants 2,570 Posted November 25, 2022 Good news. There are 11 players out of contract, some of which will have to leave, but Kenny won't be one of them.
First Wazzock 706 Posted November 25, 2022 I really don't get this idea of having a scapegoat who's fault it is when everything goes wrong. He's one of our players and, believe it or not he's certainly not the worst.
cambridgeshire canary 4,733 Posted November 25, 2022 (edited) He must hate a lot of our fans as he clearly wants to just play for us until he retires out of pure spite Edited November 25, 2022 by cambridgeshire canary
repman 273 Posted November 25, 2022 Out of all the players with contracts coming up, Kenny was always one of the first choices to stay on. I'd like to keep Todd too. Obviously Pukki would be great to keep but I imagine the club and him will be a way apart on the type of deal wanted.
Indy 2,472 Posted November 25, 2022 Not bothered either way, not the worst certainly not the best and will do a job at this level. Sad that in five seasons with the money we’ve not improved the midfield, still if Webber andSmith are happy that’s all that really counts.
ricardo 5,572 Posted November 25, 2022 Always gives 100% does Kenny. Underated by many fans but not by the managers. Im happy for him.

Unthink road 29 Posted November 25, 2022 Possibly the most complete player in terms of overall skill set. Often slated, but does no more wrong than any other player in the squad. I am one of the fans delighted with him signing an extension. 1
Capt. Pants 2,570 Posted November 25, 2022 Every team needs a player like Kenny McLean in the Championship. No, he's probably not EPL quality but not many of our squad are. In fact there's probably only a handful in the entire league, but it's a really high bar. There's certainly an argument the club should have recruited better last season but that's not Kenny's fault. He's a manager's dream because he does what he's asked to whether it's AM, DM or even LB.
