dylanisabaddog 6,131 Posted October 2, 2022 (edited) I'm watching a dire game on Sky. Villa brought on Emi on 70 minutes and he is already their best player. I shall go to bed tonight dreaming of promotion, relegation for Villa and Emi coming home. You may say I'm a dreamer..... cambridgeshire canary 7,797 Posted October 2, 2022 Has to be an attitude thing otherwise I have no idea. Anytime I have see Emi play for Villa he's their best player by a wide margin and yet he's seemingly always stuck on the bench
wcorkcanary 4,781 Posted October 2, 2022 Rarely see him and Coutinho on the pitch at the same time, unless they are chasing a game or like today, have numerical advantage. My reason for agreeing with the OP is that not only is Emi very crearive, his workrate puts Coutinho to shame. But Coutinho is Gerrards mate , Brazilian, scores a few and is paid more .🤷♀️

Ken Hairy 4,272 Posted October 2, 2022 I've said before one of my oldest friends is Villa fan, he is always bemoaning the fact Gerrard plays the mates card for Coutinho and never starts Emi. A large amount of Villa fans have had enough of Gerrard.
Richard Richard 191 Posted October 2, 2022 That really was a poor game, especially after the Manchester derby. Both sides looked poor, Emi looked impressive when coming on. Ho hum!

king canary 8,750 Posted October 2, 2022 Yeah the general consensus amongst Villa fans is Gerrard is an idiot for his use of Emi. It seems even when he does get a start he's on such a short leash that he's back on the bench if he isn't amazing straight away.

Seemingly a poor manager though, at least in a team with money to spend/burn.
The Real Buh 3,765 Posted October 2, 2022 (edited) Gerrard is hanging out with Irish druglords and pu/imping his daughter out to them. He’s gone full scouse. Edited October 2, 2022 by The Real Buh

Christoph Stiepermann 1,261 Posted October 2, 2022 (edited) Not to be pedantic but when we bring on Hernandez he often looks our best player to be fair. You start him and he's often rubbish. Buendia hasn't torn up many trees at Villa from what I've heard, they like most other PL teams plays counter attacking football so pace and dribbling skill is more useful than technique. He'd good to bring on late though after a defence is tired mentally and won't be as quick to react to through balls. I wouldn't want Gerrard as a manager and he sounds thick when he speaks, but there's probably a reason Buendia doesn't start. Since he took over all their England lads have lost their place in the squad, McGinn is getting abuse from the fans for underperforming, Coutinho is a shadow of himself and Buendia has lost his place in the Argentina squad. He’s tried to ruin Mings and Sanson doesn’t get a look in. The Villa fans can see what Buendia brings, they love the lad, but he needs to play regular! Gerrard will be gone soon! Capt. Pants 5,005 Posted October 3, 2022 The worrying thing is of course that Villa sack Gerrard, which I think is likely this season, and come sniffing for Dean Smith.

Mello Yello 2,572 Posted October 3, 2022 Never been keen on Gerrard as a player or recently as a football manager/coach....I feel the same about Carragher the punter....There's just something about them?.. As a player, he was capable of brilliant football and unstoppable at his best, but never struck me as a great team player - an individual who could practically win matches on his own, but could easily look out of sorts - especially for England. Lacks the intelligence for being a good manager imo.

Webber spins a lot of stuff . He single handedly saved Norwich from the disaster of Naismith (signed by Neil) by selling Maddison (signed by Neil) . The píssing up the wall Era I think you’ll find it is known. I’ve heard lots about the Emi saga. Some of it is true is expect !
