He's certainly better than the last Argentine international we had. Can anyone remember him?

Jonás Gutiérrez? - I admit I had to look up his surname as I couldn't remember if he was Guiterrez or Martinez

Thoroughly deserved - am really pleased for him, he said he’d love to play for his country

A million miles better than Luciano Becchio

No less than he deserves, what an achievement, especially when you look at their other AMs.

Delighted for him. Fingers crossed he gets some game time, but there are only two matches and they're both World Cup qualifiers so he may not feature ahead of some of the more established players. Even just being there in the squad is a huge achievement though and he has to start somewhere.

Chuffed for him. Great to see Norwich listed among the massive clubs the others are playing for, and the player names themselves.

That was a strange signing. He was never going to offer anything for a relegation threatened Norwich in a dog fight.

30k a week and all he did was fall over in the box and appeal for a penalty one time.

He did brilliantly for Leeds though - never scored a competitive goal for us. Only goal he ever scored was in a pre-season friendly once

Excellent news for Emi and potentially good that he now knows he doesn’t have to leave to get noticed for his country; clearly puts him in a bigger shop window though...

Congrats to Emi, well deserved.  Quite right they should have a look at him with him doing so well.  Hope he gets some minutes on the pitch, although he'll learn a lot from just being with the squad.  Argentina love playing one touch football, so he should be well suited to that.

If we're fortunate enough that he doe stay this season, we really need to make the most of it.  If he's rubbing shoulders with Messi and the like, he's going to be appearing on even more radars.

If ever a player deserved it, it's gotta be him. Was suggesting he can't be far away from a call up in another thread a few weeks back and got absolutely shot down for it so yeah, there we go!

Does it trigger a transfer payment? Will Getafe be receiving a bonus?

Don’t know - if another club want him though we can up his asking price

Fantastic news for him on a personal level. For us as a club it’s yet another fantastic endorsement of what we can do for young and talented players. I also think, having read his comments about staying with us and his other goals, that this will strengthen our position to keep him at least another year. He’s got a call up whilst still with us and off the back of a championship season, he’s wanted and settled here and also has the perfect stage to showcase his improvement before what I think will be a top 4 move in either the English or Spanish top flight.
