Jools 584 Posted February 26, 2017 If the police presence wasn''t so prolific both sets of fans wouldn''t be there - or they''d have dissipated much sooner - bunch of pussies one and all. Put 50 of these snowflakes back in the 70''s and I swear the infamous Bernie, me & a couple of others would destroy the lot.

Crabbycanary3 994 Posted February 27, 2017 We were on the far side of the road, walking back (wearing colours), when all this started and carried on, to it''s natural conclusion. We were walking right alongside Binner fans, who were singing away, and nothing was happening. There was PLENTY of opportunity , for either side, to ''start something'', gaps, here, there and everywhere, but of course, no one did.The Police''s handling of this was very poor. As has been referred to, if this was a throwback to 30/40 years ago, those coppers would have cacked their pants. They invited the problems themselves, with how the post match strategy was handled. hogesar 10,763 Posted February 27, 2017 Happens every derby. To be fair it''s far more tame than most other derby''s up and down the country. But I''d rather they were a bunch of melts chanting stuff at each other rather than fighting in all honesty. Anyone see the ginger scum fan on twitter boasting about punching a Norwich fan? Badger 2,745 Posted February 27, 2017 I can''t understand why they don''t hold the Ipswich fans behind for 15 minutes until most of the Norwich fans have left? The way that it was done seemed almost designed to have two sets of fans hurling abuse at each other and gave some of the more moronic Ipswich fans a captive audience for posing and insulting. Felt hard not to agree with the chants of "you don''t know what you''re doing" that went up.
FenwayFrank 2,717 Posted February 27, 2017 Same as crabby for me, walked on the far side of the road alongside their lot. That happened behind us. Got some verbals that I gave back but I did comment to Mrs Frank that it would only need a couple of idiots to start and there could have been problems, but then as others have said, put that lot back into the 70s 80s and they would have been running home to mummy quite quickly. FenwayFrank 2,717 Posted February 27, 2017 Did anyone see Donovan Blake trying to interview one of our fans in the middle of the road right where the Binners are in the video ? I think he gave up

Mello Yello 2,572 Posted February 27, 2017 The Police did a decent job for the derby, but the decision to allow the Ipswich support to leave at the same time as the City support was in my personal opinion an incorrect decision. Retention of the away support for 15 minutes in the ground and therefore allowing the ''normal'' City support to disperse and clear the immediate area. Therefore, the Police would then only have the concern of escorting the away support to their transport, and easier identification, monitoring and controlling of the Norwich/Ipswich ''Danny Dyer football factory'' wannabees, who would loiter around the stadium to goad, jeer and flex their ''muscles'' at the departing home and away fans.It works at Portman Road when the Police ''pen'' us in at the station, and post match, keep us in the ground until the majority have dispersed......I just found it unusual at Carrow Road the decision to allow vacation of home and away support at the same time? Crabbycanary3 994 Posted February 27, 2017 I wouldn''t be as polite as you Mello Yello, and use the word unusual, I would use stupid. They didn''t have anywhere near enough police, to escort the Binners properly. Only when, it started to get a bit ''hairy'', did loads more come from the direction of the ground. An ill thought out process, that needs looking at. To be honest, a touch of common sense (or, as you state, reflecting what happens at other grounds) would have alleviated any potential for trouble.
Chesney Hawkes 0 Posted February 27, 2017 That is tragic. We need another bout of conscription for a war.

We were funnelled out to the left of the road back to the car parks and station with Ipswich fans on the right. Usual '' banter '' but it worked very well instead of the old style keeping us inside and/or kettling outside the ground. Not so easy to do at Carrow Rd so I can''t understand why they let the opposing fans out pretty much together.
Horse Renoir 1 Posted February 27, 2017 Jools gets it.Awfully quiet from both sides until there was a large police filled wall between both sets of fans. If it was just good natured chanting then it''s not that embarrising but the scallies in Polo caps and geezer jackets shouting nonsense like you fa(k1ng cant! while repeating some of the gestures the saw on Football Factory are just beyond pathetic. The Bristol Nest 597 Posted February 27, 2017 Thick Twunts, many of whom looked to be decidedly middle aged. Btw the "thugs" in the 70''s and 80''s were just as pathetic.Morons, the lot of them.
nutty nigel 7,902 Posted February 27, 2017 Some people look back fondly at the 70s/80s antics. Just like some look back fondly on Robert Chase. Both are happily history for me and can be put in a football museum with the binners.
