Preston sitting in lofty third. Have to say I thought as he put more of a stamp on the team with his own signings they may struggle but theyve purchased pretty well recently and he seems to be doing a great job. Obviously doesnt mean his sacking here was wrong but I always quite liked him and he always speaks positively about us (we were the ones who took a punt on him to be fair) so I'm pleased to see him doing well.

Wish him and Preston all the best, really liked him during his time here and that promotion season was a lot of good fun and we played entertaining football.

Hmm yes with hindsight, but IMO decisions should be judged at the time they were made. My memory is that during the transfer window, Zimbo was out for an op, but it was expected he'd be available a few weeks into the season. It's a new injury which has put him out for such a long time now. Ditto I don't think there were any injury concerns about Klose, maybe a niggle, but the injury that put him out for the season was out of the blue - although his injury record is bad over his time with us. Godfrey & Hanley were fine. And Amadou was brought in as someone who could play at CB in emergency. So during the transfer window we had 3 fit CBs plus another due back soon, and Amadou as extra cover. Should we have paid for an extra CB on top, given we have kept the budget extremely tight overall. We wouldn't have paid for an upgrade so essentially we'd have been paying for someone with the expectation they'd sit on the bench all season. The article mentions his transfer fee but of course the main cost is wages. So at the end of the day, I can understand why Webber approached it as he did - it's one of those calls you have to make when you are keeping spending tight and sometimes they go against you.

What happened to “if we go down, so be it. We’ll have broken even, have some money to invest in the foundations of the club and be better placed for another run at promotion and the PL”? One season of success and suddenly it’s “why aren’t we Leicester?” after a few defeats to mid to lower table PREMIER LEAGUE clubs. Webber always said this was a long-term project and we are still over-achieving on that. Big picture guys!

You certainly don't have to like the owners. Historically the owners of our club are pretty much universally disliked. Back in the 60s there'd be chants of "zigger zigger zigger, Wating's a word that rhymes with zigger", "tanker tanker tanker, Watling's a word that rhymes with tanker". Then in the 70s Sir Arthur was disliked in the same way put the chants got a bit more acceptable the most popular one being No Reeves, no future, no fans. Move on to Chase and he was the most disliked of all. I'd even go as far as hated. And even through the successful 10 years late 80's early 90s we were never far away from a protest in the stadium and there were plenty. We even had an EGM where shareholders tried to get Ken Brown reinstated and Chase removed. I would say that the current owners are the most liked of the lot. Especially in the stadium where in twenty years there's only been muffled protests. The dislike has been much more prevalent on social media. Of course that's impossible to compare with other owners as it's only really become a thing since these owners have been around. Although I think we can pretty much guess what social media would have had in store for past owners, especially Big Fat Bob, and it ain't pretty.

Norwich City will never be competitive in the EPL as long as it remains a self funding club. So if we go down we might as well be barred from coming back up until we get serious about this league which will only be under new owners.

Think its important to remember he is still a young manager (in football terms) at 38 his still not much older than the players he is managing, personally i think he will only get better with experience, and will manage in the premier league again.

I’m happy as I finally managed to get a ticket with my standard away membership, which I was genuinely beginning to doubt after failing to get one for West Ham or Palace. Looking forward to it very much and my first trip to the Amex 😁👍

I much prefer ACN & MB. Just assume TNC is going for a different market, 10-20 year-olds.

He also had some struggles with them last season and turned it around, suggesting he's learnt about dealing with adversity a bit more since his time with us. I wonder if he's a bit less thin-skinned with the media too.

London based myself which is why these sites, channels, sources are appreciated, That 'balanced Norfolk insight and amusement is appreciated. TNC, for me, is a good watch, there is some skill and talent on display and I suspect Chris is set up to encourage controversy and debate. Both chaps are bright and could, potentially, hugely progress if managed and financed correctly. Beyond entertainment however, the seriousness of their opinions are debatable which is a trick missed. I haven't looked but if they are happy with 100k subscribers then fair enough, but the audience potential is huge. Norwich, for a PL club, are lacking in this independent, insider fan content. It isn't being executed just right yet! Yet! Michale Bailey, brilliant, so Norwich, but hugely credible! Really enjoy his analysis and opinion. Paddy D, terribly old hat, lazy journalism crammed full of predictable, meaningless jargon. But, there are thousands of 'football journalists' of this ilk struggling to deal with 2019 and are at battle with being forced into a piece to camera gigs. Entirely regional and not PL in the least. I think he’s said he learned a lot while he was with us. Part of that is probably about player recruitment, although he isn’t likely to have even the sort of resources we had now he’s at Preston so he can’t **** money on another Naismith. His skills always seemed to be making a team greater than the sum of its parts. Possibly also that you don’t change wholesale how you play in the back of one defeat, but maybe history hasn’t repeated itself there.

It’s more than just developing the squad, isn’t it? It’s the physical infrastructure, Colney, and Carrow Road too, even eventually the fabled stadium expansion. We’ve already improved Colney, which is something McNally never achieved, despite calling it out as a problem. It’s the quality of our scouting and coaching teams, which means we can attract promising young footballers and “turn them into £20 million players” or whatever Webber said. Maybe even taking a women's team (I always want to say that in a “Tom Baker Blackadder” voice) into the fold. Man City have done something similar quickly and on a bigger scale by throwing money at it. We have to do it by skill and with a bit of luck over a much longer timeframe. Whether that’s medium or long-term depends on how impatient you are I guess. Luckily, Webber seems dedicated to it for the next three years, although I would have thought it will take longer than that to see all the fruits of his work.

I can listen at length to Jack Reeve as he generally displays a degree of humility, which is his greatest gift. But Chris Reeve is unwatchable as his self-satisfaction is nauseating and he seems to think that he knows what he is talking about. He really doesn't. He didn't pick up at all on where the weaknesses and mistakes were on Saturday.

As I understand it the project (not sure whether it is long-term or perhaps more medium-term) is a kind of two steps forward, one step back progression, in which relegation is factored in as a distinct possibility, but in which, by husbanding our resources (ie PL TV money), we slowly develope the squad so that at some point we can get up and stay up, but without overcommitting ourselves financially.

I said last season he was the glue that held the defence together. Much more to his game than just shot stopping and goal kicking. Vastly underated.

So naive that we had our best season possibly ever last season. And it's still early in the season this season. Players will return and things will get better.
