Robert N. LiM 4,451 Posted April 20 Hmm. Frustrating afternoon. Have to take the point and be grateful a couple of offside decisions went our way. Bristol a bit hard done by. But if Watford can hang on then not the worst result in the world
baldy09 160 Posted April 20 Hanging on with the skin of our teeth - but still a good point

He went into the ten when Barnes went off. Take the point about not wanting to play SvH, but it wasn't a defensive substitution on its own terms.
Helsinki canary 242 Posted April 20 Bristol won practically every ball in Central midfield in front of their box but we couldn’t win any balls in front of our box - we have to get a quality CDM in the summer
Spillay 180 Posted April 20 (edited) Think most people would of taken a point at Preston and a win today, so 4 points nothing to be scoffed at after the Wednesday collapse. Gunn was superb today, clear MOM Edited April 20 by Spillay typo
Midlands Yellow 4,025 Posted April 20 These teams who should be on that beach are frustrating, Swansea next who have just won away 4.0.
Christoph Stiepermann 1,138 Posted April 20 Neither Hull nor Coventry can afford to lose another game. If Hull win 2 and draw one we only need one more point and we'd still finish above them, we're pretty much there. Tough game today but we're still in a brilliant position.
Virtual reality 716 Posted April 20 Take the point. I thought they edged it over the course of the match.
The Bunny 314 Posted April 20 Got away with one today. 2 clearly incorrect offside decisions went in our favour and Bristol created far more clear chances than us. They will feel robbed.
GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 1,794 Posted April 20 At least a draw keeps Hull and Coventry still interested...who are incidently Ipswich's next 2 games...both away

Agreed, the odds of making top 6 have shortened and we’ll be fine.

Mason 47 1,391 Posted April 20 Bristol came in wanting a result and we came in hoping for it, IMO. We just looked a bit less determined. If you can't win, don't lose. Hopefully we are more focused for Swansea.
Ken Hairy 3,779 Posted April 20 To be honest happy to take a point out of that, with Hull not winning we're all but there now. Not that it'd make a difference but from where I was Mehmeti should have had a red in that incident at the end, clearly moved his head into Sara's.
AJ 1,224 Posted April 20 Given how the game panned out it feels more like a point earned than two dropped for sure, especially with going a goal down. Gunn saved us too many times today too.

Branston Pickle 3,674 Posted April 20 We were really poor today - if we get to the play offs and repeat that showing we will surely get a hammering.

If you’re going to pizs about making sides take forever over every f/k and corner, you cannot justify only 1 minute at half time and 3 minutes at the end of the game (where 7 subs were made).

Blew up for every soft free kick but was happy to let a few harder, more obvious fouls go i.e. Rowe getting absolutely clattered mid air.

It was though as Sara has proven repeatedly that playing being Sargent is not the best use of his talent. He is far better when he is facing and going forward rather than having his back to goal.

Capt. Pants 4,270 Posted April 20 A bit fortunate to get a point in some respects in terms of chances created. Felt like a training match with the ref determined to create some urgency. Really concerned with our options off the bench. Once again SVH a complete and utter your not fit to play the game. Fancy us in the play offs?

ZLF 274 Posted April 20 Thought their press was excellent; on a day when we also didn't pass well from the back it gave them an edge.  They created some clear chances that gunn was mainly equal too.  Couldn't have moaned if we lost, which we probably would have before Xmas so a welcome point.  Need more next week

chicken 2,640 Posted April 20 I don't get this VH love in at this point. It wasn't attacking we had overall problem with, but ball retention and use. People have gone on about how Sorensen is the defensive midfielder (DM, again, NOT CDM, you don't deploy defensive midfielders anywhere other than in a central position, please don't go by FIFA...which appears to use US soccer terminology) and yet, he's brought on to push one of our most creative players further forward, and to win the ball so we can get it to said creative player and that's a negative move. I think the real issue is who to bring off for a forward player. The choice today was Nunez which meant dropping Sara back into one of the two deeper midfield positions to accommodate Rowe. If it had been Barnes and Sara simply moved inside, I wonder if anyone would have queried it? Yet essentially, that's what happened a little while after. So, if it had been Barnes for Rowe, with Sara switching inside, and then later on, Sorensen for Nunez - would those who are questioning it, be so confused/angry that a striker wasn't brought on?
