Couldn't name everyone, as only had 20 options. Left out Kablak, Dowell, Rowe, Gunn

McLean, Joking apart it has to be Pukki. Who else will score half a dozen goals this season we need to survive?

I think Hanley, he leads us, and drives the defence.  Without him we look weaker, and although we have other CB’s we have not got a replacement for him in the current squad.

Rashica is starting to look like a weapon at this level.

You may not rate him but there’s  need for that level of invective

Anyone else think that when Rashica starts rumbling forward on one of those dribbles that there's something Kinkladze-esque about him?

Obviously, nowhere near as proven in the top flight as Kinkladze ever was, but there's an intangible similarity for me - that close control, touches in tight spaces, some very serpentine runs....

Good to see Hanley getting some votes. I went for Krul as athough we have some talented players none seem to be premier league quality or have shown consistent talent. Rashica has potential, but jury is still out.

Shout out for Byram also.

If I was a pundit/expert/journalist from London who worked for the BBC, Sky, ITV, Talk Sh*te, or any National Newspaper, the answer would undoubtably be Gilmour because, even by just sitting in the stands, he has been instrumental in our improvement.

However, out here in the real World, where we know about stuff, it's probably Hanley

I should clarify, I think Rashica is our most talented player, but I think for the team Hanley is the most important and most critical member of the squad.

For gods sake don't let Chelsea fans hear about this poll......

I think two of them already did.

I can't decide. It would have to be between Krul, Pukki, Rashica, Hanley, Normann.

Normann is only really in that list based on his pre-injury form. I feel like Sorensen could be up there too, but reserving judgement until he's had a couple more games in his preferred position.

I mean, it's Pukki, isn't it. Surprised the poll has more than one option tbh

Indeed. Though ‘best’ and ‘most important’ are not synonymous, nor interchangeable.

Pukki has scored more goals than Kane this season but according to some Pukki is either past it, knackered or both.

How many more would he have scored if we had someone who could anticipate his runs and then actually pass the ball to him

Plenty are saying the same about Kane. And he’s playing in a (supposedly) much better side.

The best player will be the one who's sold in the Summer.....

That will be Rashica then. There really is no contest!
