Prince of Darkness 0 Posted December 9, 2015 They have had a poor start to the season they are a progressive club and it was the right thing to do.Pity a club much closer to home wouldn''t also do like wise and reappoint a former manager

Two penneth 0 Posted December 9, 2015 One win out of last eleven games. Isn''t that about the same as us? Hope our board are made of sterner stuff and not about to blink. Does raise the question of how near the brink a club will go given next seasons largesse. Guess expectations were very high there though.

Horse Renoir 1 Posted December 9, 2015 Mental. Teams go through bad spells, it happens, it doesn''t mean the manager is suddenly inept. Swansea weren''t getting relegated this year so this seems odd. With his penchant for fast, direct attacking football and ability to motivate big names using Swansea as a stepping stone Gary Monk would be someone I''d be scouting incase we somehow lose Neil.We were sh1te under Lambert for his last half a season here yet people are clamoring for him to return. Swansea being slightly better than us for a third of a season wouldn''t put me off him, at all. This is good for us though, they''re likely to appoint someone from completely left-field. This could (and I emphasise could) be great for them, but odds are they''ll appoint someone no better than Monk but without the influence over the players he had and will be fighting relegation all year
AJ 1,358 Posted December 9, 2015 Not surprised but very harsh given what he did for them last year. Football is a nasty business at times!Let''s hope they don''t get new manager syndrome and it horribly backfires for them!
Tetteys Jig 851 Posted December 9, 2015 Harsh but in today''s climate, they need to do something to stop the rot. They can''t score to save their lives atm and have 1 win in 11.They''ll get Rodgers and sign some decent players in Jan and be fine.Does beg the question of what we do. I have 100% confidence Neil is a cracking manager but do we need someone with more pulling power? Our squad are yet to win a game against half decent opposition and we don''t seem to have the draw to bring in the quality that can get us them results. lake district canary 4,823 Posted December 9, 2015 Monk has looked a forlorn figure this season, has not had the know how or personality to maintain/improve Swansea. Young managers are fine as long as they develop, but if they stand still, they risk getting swamped by the pressure. As for AN, he has had a tough start in the prem this season after a fantastic last season. How he copes/adapts will show how good a manager he can be at ths level. Whats amusing is, if there was even the slightest chance he would come back here, he probably wouldn''t advocate it at all-the fact that it as close to an impossibility in football as you could get makes it all the more attractive for him to push-like the lad at school who only ever fancies the completely unattainable women.Isn''t going to happen. But doesn''t stop the wishing.
Highland Canary 78 Posted December 9, 2015 Had our board acted with such decisiveness during Hughton''s reign, we would have avoided the nonsense of the championship last season, and the apparent handicap of attracting players as a newly appointed team this. Swansea are no longer part of the relegation mini-league.

Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted December 9, 2015 The sacking must be seen in the context of their being a club in their 5th successive season in the top flight. They should not have been in a relegation mini league and i fear for us that yet another club in the mix are about to go onto better times

Katie Borkins 1 Posted December 9, 2015 Pink Un rule #37: if another club sacks their manager then it is a good move, shows ambition and means they will hire a great new manager and hence we are in trouble. If we sack our manager it shows we are clueless and doomed.
