Even if we stay down- I wouldn’t move. Chances are you end up 3rd or 4th choice at a mid to lower prem team whereas with us he will be number 1 striker - and tear the division apart if we remain in the champs. At which point his stock is even higher. Or is that just wishful thinking - he is so much better than we could even dream of buying these days

Chances are you double your wages and back yourself to deliver.

All depends on who is interested and what they offer, he’s on a long contract. Big injury question mark as well, pretty sure he needs surgery once the seasons over.

Fail to get promoted though and any PL club comes knocking with serious intent I can’t see him staying unfortunately.

His worst performance of the season. Granted the service was woeful but his first touch was utterly appalling.

He's been playing while injured for weeks if you ask me. Hopefully we can patch him up for one more game. And then another one.

25m+ and a double or triple wage increases offer as well a move to a London club..

He's gone

We don't have parachute payments to cover the wages as we had this year!

Unfortunately as in other years we will need to trim the budgets and build so any comparative offers to the required asking value and we will lose our top assets, of course this is true even with promotion too! But less financial pressure to restructure the finances.

But Sargent, Sara & Nunez are in the peak years of their playing career and will want to play top level should opportunities arise, can’t blame them. Let’s see what the next game and summer bring!

Rodon in a very underrated player and kept Josh under wraps, obviously he’s not fully fit either!

Glad you remembered that final sentence 👏 👍

Indeed. He struggled against a good CB.

His fitness is a huge concern. Looks slightly lardy and can't control the ball at all. A bit like Premier League Josh!

The guy is a good championship striker. There is no way he moves to a premier league club. He has a chance of competing for championship top scorer next year if we aren't promoted. Don't think his career will ever go higher than that. A very likable guy though.

He won’t tear the division apart if Wagner stays in charge!

I think Josh is very highly rated within the game. He's young and international and his stats this season are pretty obscene.

We will be very lucky to keep hold of him.
My hope is that Antanasio speaks to him Yank 2 Yank and maybe convinces him for 1 season and then allow him to leave with our blessings if things dont go to plan.
Although I still reckon we have a high chance of appointing Martin or Farke before the end of June.

Gunn, Sara, Sarg , McClean

Anyone else can be replaced quite easily.

There are more countries with competitive and well paid top flight sides, it's not English PL or bust. He will unfortunately have plenty of suitors.

I don't think his first touch will ever improve. There was a moment in the second half today when he made loads of space for himself, a great run, Gunn spotted him, and hoofed up the ball precisely to where he was. Admittedly not an easy take, but it thumped hard against Sargent's leg and bounced well away from him and the moment was lost.

He's very good but that lack of touch will always limit his potential IMO.

Not sure the bright lights of London are his thing. He’s a country boy who puts family first

I think if he stays in England he'll spend his career being one of those strikers who are superb in the Championship but just not good enough for the top flight like Cameron Jerome. He's got a lot of good attributes but he's not great at finding space in the box and doesn't have the best first touch, for how he likes to play he lacks a bit of pace too to be a good PL level striker. I don't see any PL clubs paying what we'd ask for him, the worry for me is if he wants to go to a top league in Europe or if Burnley or one of Leeds/Southampton (if they stay down) want him because he's top class at this level.

I hope we keep him if we stay down but if we go up I honestly think we need an upgrade.

I think that's about right. It's the first touch thing which is his biggest problem, that and the suspicion that he's injury prone. Championship level, top end.

Think you're right. PL clubs will be put off by his 'first touch' (or more accurately 'lack thereof) and his dodgy ankle (s). His goalscoring record this season is top notch as we know but at PL level? Sorry, don't think so.

So he's one of those Norwich forever lads then if his Mrs tells him to stay put!

Once you lived in Norfolk you never want to leave! How many of those have we seen?

I am a huge fan of Sargent but his first touch has let him down in more than one game this season............

If  the right offer comes in, he is off. That's how it works. That's how we signed Howson, Snodgrass and Bechio. PL football, incresed wages. Pou of our hands.

My thought though is that there won't be the 'right' offers. Nobody has claimed he is crap either (as above) just that he is not as good some imagine, and certainly not good enough for the PL.

There is a massive difference between the Championship and the PL, not only in squads (as seen this season) but in players. The PL has, almost, the pick of the worlds best.

There are better forwards than Sargeant in the PL sat on the touchline.

Norwich sell their best players? Well I never. Let’s wait until Thursday, could be a late one.

When a plleyer moves to a bigger cub, for better wages etc, his previous cub gets a fee.

That applies to all clubs

Definitely true, we are the masters at this.

I imagine Sargent has his eye on the 2026 World Cup and the chance to represent his country at a home tournament. He will probably always be behind Balogun in the pecking order but he's probably leapfrogged a lot of the others off the back of this season.

I don't think he will want to join a lower PL side to do a lot of running for little goal return, even if it's a step above strikers get judged on goals and if he isn't scoring as much he could easily fall behind.
