7 goals in 10 games for Celtic

12 goals in 99 games for Norwich

is it an easier league- or did he just need more minutes? Answers on postcard…

And will he want to return? I doubt it

Of those 99 games, how many were from off the bench. Might need a "minutes played" stat here.

I can’t see him wanting to return.  He got very little used a scapegoat by a significant number of fans.  It is also an easier league.

Not really a fair comparison; most of those 99 matches were ten minute cameos off the bench and quite a few were when he was 18 or 19.

A more fair comparison is this season.

At Celtic, most of his appearances have been from the bench, and his league record is seven goals in 455 minutes.

Whilst here, most of his appearances were from the bench as well, scoring six in 1,275 minutes.

His goals-per-minute record at Celtic is sensational, but Idah did seem like he was always a bigger threat from the bench when he played here this season. And when playing for a team that is far stronger than all bar one of their opponents and against teams who are lower than Championship standard (again, bar one), it stands to reason that his goalscoring record is going to improve.

But still, seven goals in 455 is some going by anyone's standards.

Do feel he's having the time of his life right now

Pukki was poor at Celtic but outstanding with us. Maybe it's just what you're suited to, or maybe he has brightened up from having some positive support.

Either way, given he clearly actively wanted away from Norwich, I think we've seen the last of him.

Good luck Adam ,keep banging them in up there. Pukki was rubbish.  Nice at celtic Park with 50k to60k fans cheering your name. Norwich-city  just a memory me thinks.

This site says 31 starts (not 28, thanks @TheGunnShow). Not sure how reliable it is. Certainly more reliable than pretending he's played 99 games for Norwich.

It said 31 starts when I clicked on it but either way, Idah's had most appearances as substitute run-outs of varying length, often short, so any scoring stat based on goals per game is skewed unless it takes the actual no. of minutes played into account.

He has played 4,360 minutes for us over 115 games in all competitions (99 league, 16 cup) according to Transfermarkt. That works out at 38 minutes per appearance, or 48 full matches.

He has scored 17 goals, which is one every 256 minutes, or one goal every 2.85 matches based on 90-minute appearances.

The Rangers captain today scored his 50th penalty. In total he's scored 131 goals. He's a right back. Think you can safely say that league is poor.

Indeed.  It’s a mix of L1/Championship quality sides with two who ’might’ just about manage to survive PL with a tonne of transfers.

We already knew Idah was ok but he’s a mixed bag and needed more game time. That he’s doing ok there is surely of little surprise.

Well, we could have really done with him from the bench in recent games.

Tbh we have done pretty well enough without him.  It is easy to forget quite how frustrating he was, but that isn’t to say we couldn’t have done with him on the bench.

As striker is only as good as the service he gets at NCFC it was very average

Sargent has been able to thrive with that average service.

And an average striker can't fashion chances for himself, make the right run, stay onside, anticipate a chance etc

If we can get a fee then I think we'll be happy to let him go.

Who would have guessed that a loan to a lower level would have helped the lad? I for one am completely astounded. Next we'll discover something mind-blowing about the Pope's religious beliefs...

I'm really pleased for Adam that he's doing well in the SPL.

It's what he needed as he had endless chances to make the shirt his own here and failed.

It's good news for everybody.

Anyone remember Chris Lawler and old fashioned fullback playing for Liverpool in the then equivalent of TP

Chris Lawler was a great right-back who held down a regular place in the team between 1965-1973. A goalscoring defender if there ever was one, he had an astonishing record of 61 goals in 549 games which is especially remarkable considering he was not the club's penalty kick-taker or a free-kick specialist

This is the issue though Hog, he's 23 and doesn't want to sit on the bench waiting for his 15 minute cameo and he's not good enough to start for a team with promotion ambitions like us. Basically, he doesn't fit here and needs to move on IMO.

I don't disagree. But it could have waited till the summer if the best replacement Knapper could find was some guy who's unfit and unsuited to our style

If his recent social media post (see the highlight on his comment) is to be believed he seems to think he won't be ... 🙂

Im still not an Idah fan. I think he needed a new challenge/club in order to progress. Seems to be an impact sub mainly for Celtic where he's doing well.  In hindsight he would of probably been a better option from what i've seen of SVH, who I suspect may struggle to fit in here, but remains to be seen re: fitness and what he can offer.
