Phone torches at game today

Recommended Posts

Sorry if I’ve missed this but does anyone know why people were shining their phone torches towards the end of the game today?

I asked that question earlier, and nobody seemed to know... I think @The Raptor's answer of 'boredom' is probably pretty accurate!

Could this become a catalyst for a form of protest ?

Phone torch in one hand, and a white hanky in the other, Spanish-style?

Looked to me like all the kids were bored of the turgid football and found something better to do

Apparently BBC reporting on the game at the time said it was a Wagner out protest.  Probably someone just told them that though.

Let's make it happen at Hull on Friday night. I will make sure my phone is fully charged.

NT would understand this . It was part of his training during his “various” roles with the government. He can’t fool us . We know he has an exploding pen in his top pocket

That was  before starting his “successful”   photography business . (Of which there is no record whatsoever)

Most entertaining part of the day

Exactly this. I would have joined in myself but I was on 25% battery and needed enough to order a Chinese on the way home. It was almost an attempt to create some kind of atmosphere.

The kid sitting in front of us, took off his Parka jacket and put it on backwards, so the hood covered his face.

He promptly fell asleep on his mum's shoulder.

Kids are smart these days.

...it was a 'cup crowd'

Sat in my usual seat in Barclay black D today....didnt recognise anyone for 2 blocks either side of me

Surely a cup game is a chance to have a break from your usual seat and experience a different angle?

Although it does protect your seat against stranger farts.

Nope. Me and my mates also say in our usual seats.

I have it on good authority that around 1000 tickets were mis-sold to middle aged women who thought they were at the stadium to see Chris Martins Coldplay, not Bristol Rovers and torch lights were to summon their big hit "A sky full of stars" but there were sadly none on show.
