Pyro Pete 1,907 Posted December 6, 2023 Man City without Rodri just aren't the same team. Surprised Pep still hasn't got cover for him.

Hardhouse44 261 Posted December 6, 2023 Yeah silly old Villa spending money to stay up. Just think they could be enjoying mid table championship obscurity if they’d only copied us a few seasons ago!

Branston Pickle 3,667 Posted December 6, 2023 In truth, Citeh have been off the boil for a few weeks now - and had to come from 2-0 down at home in Europe last week, this result has been coming and Villa deserved it.

Remember how our brainwashed fans (thankfully not so much any more) laughed at them spending money to actually try and build something and as they bought our best player. 12 months before that we were vastly superior to them. Buying the best players available, riding roughshod over FPP. Bunch of sore losers, sad entitled overpaid Wayne Kerrs. What an achievement. Like a rich kid buying the best sweeties , I bet they are so proud of their achievement.

duke63 543 Posted December 7, 2023 In the last 6 years the owners have 'invested' £500 million in share capital to keep the club solvent. And still not won anything. The utter madness of football. 2

rock bus 854 Posted December 7, 2023 Fair play to them, they’ve done brilliantly. Don’t enjoy saying that as living in the Midlands, have had to put up with lots of Villa fans going on about the past (they’re as bad as the binners!!) Also worth noting they have been much better without trying to shoehorn Buendia into the team……perhaps he might need a loan in January to build up his fitness,, performance and confidence!?!? I think the saddest thing is that Buendia was looking good for them prior to his injury. Really feel this could have been his breakthrough season

Didn't say that I approved, but when you win everything, there comes with it a level of expectation (entitlement) They continue to be proof positive, that money buys success. Pretty much what the Premiership is all about.....

Pretty much what the Premiership is all about..... Quite, and being successful in the EPL isn't about winning trophies, although with a fair wind Villa are in a good shout for a European one. Unai (****) Emery is proving to be a fantastic appointment with mostly the same squad and Emi not available. Apparently (D1ck) is not allowed... Edited December 8, 2023 by Capt. Yes but there are also teams who spend money and still struggle - look at Forest - it’s all about whether the team clicks and the spirit is there which in Villa’s case it has - a bit like Ipswich at present who’s team have clicked and could well take them to Promotion without spending millions

Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 3,824 Posted December 9, 2023 15 home Premier League wins in a row now, isn't it? Even for a Man City, Liverpool or Arsenal, that would be bloody impressive. For Villa, it's incredible.
