Keith Scott 256 Posted August 12, 2023 Disappointing end. But a good result overall. And Leeds lost. Lovely. All the best. Big Keith Scott.

This system asks a lot of our full backs. 8 mins of injury time is going to ask a lot of all players when combined with 6 or so in the first half.
Robert N. LiM 4,655 Posted August 12, 2023 Not really sure how to react to that. A point is obviously a great result for us, but did feel they were there for the taking. But equally they looked like taking us apart a few times in the second half. Lots to be encouraged by, lots to work on. The refereeing is a distraction from that, imho. Samwam27 535 Posted August 12, 2023 We got one penalty last season. Saints get 2 in 1 game. Referee was duped into that penalty. Softest we'll see this season

keelansgrandad 6,679 Posted August 12, 2023 Great result but it doesn't reflect what happened. Referees were instructed to take into account that contact isn't always a foul. And this bloke didn't get the email.
littleyellowbirdie 2,613 Posted August 12, 2023 A point's a decent result, but we were robbed at the end there.
Calle 16 Posted August 12, 2023 Most would probably take a point from this game, but can´t help feel robbed by the refs. One good goal disallowed and one very soft penalty against...
All the Germans 1,085 Posted August 12, 2023 Well done City. Good game, and definitely should have won it. Two soft penalties against and a goal ruled out incorrectly, the ref stole 2 points from us. We'll get dodgy decisions in our favour too in future matches that will no doubt win us points, but it is still frustating.
GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 1,821 Posted August 12, 2023 Holding on to a one goal lead away from home, going into injury time  is going to be extremely difficult from now on, if these riduculous numbers of minutes are now going to be added
The Real Buh 3,492 Posted August 12, 2023 Great game, Southampton needed two penalties that were dodgey as hell to get the job done, ref willing to give them because Southampton were in the prem last year and he’s heard of them (he’s been demoted with them btw) main thing, we’ve got our heart back. Very happy!

canarydan23 4,120 Posted August 12, 2023 ****ing disgusting. VAR is needed, but not put in the hands of the ****ing mongs that make it necessary.
Disco Dales Jockstrap 1,899 Posted August 12, 2023 Another 4-4 against the Saints. Crazy days! Happy with the point; encouraging signs going forward. OTBC
Besthorpe-48 103 Posted August 12, 2023 It's going to be entertaining isn't it. And there are 22 other championship teams who have to visit St Mary's most of whom will lose. Positive start.

hogesar 9,810 Posted August 12, 2023 Perfectly good goal wrongly called offside. The weakest penalty decision you'll ever see at this level - if that was a penalty then Sargent should have had 40 on his own last season. To note, Southampton just got double the amount of penalties today than we got in the entirety of last season. AND WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BELEIVE THESE DECISIONS 'EVEN THEMSELVES OUT'

cambridgeshire canary 6,866 Posted August 12, 2023 Don't know why everyone is mad about the penalty. If one of our players got elbowed in the back and fell over we would be screaming for one

The Real Buh 3,492 Posted August 12, 2023 It’s going to be like this with the refs all season by the way. They’ve been given a blank cheque to act like kn0bheads.

Samwam27 535 Posted August 12, 2023 Great result which will probably go down as one of our hardest games this season away to strongly fancied opponents. Well done Wagner getting some fight back in this team!

Refs are supposed to give fouls on "contact with consequence" not a player going down while looking for contact.
