dieumerci mbokani close to signing

Recommended Posts

Southampton have signed Caulker on loan and Sunderland the lad we were looking at.

I don''t see either being interested... everton who knows but I think this is the key signing a centre half with a real presence and promise to sit alongside with Bassong.

Mbokani, would be a great fit with hooper rvw grabban and Jerome.

You cannot have enough goals in your team

Even with Caulker Southampton only have 3 centre backs. Sunderland have brought in Kaboul, but need to replace Wes Brown and John O''Shea. Think they will both still be interested in Van Dijk - as will a bunch of other teams who haven''t been in the media glare.

If Norwich can stretch another £10m after the money they have already spent is another matter.

look who''s back ........

Thibault Goffaux

Of all the CFs whose names have been bandied about in recent weeks, he''s certainly the most intriguing and promising.....

Must have been a long flight.

We have been linked with all sorts of names good and bad, but Mbokani is the one we truly want. Hope it happens. Then if we can replace RVW with Gayle or Destro, it would be a bonus. Neil did say he was looking at 2 signings.

do think we need options and we do have space in the 25 man squad

it has all gone silent on the young Columbian player as well

AN dismissed it straight away. No more reliable source than that!

If there was any interest in Juan Quintero then I''d imagine he possibly fitted in the ''doesn''t find us an attractive proposition'' category that AN was talking about?.

As for Destro, given our close working relationship with Errea, I wonder if they''re playing any part in whatever way trying to help us sign the promising Italian international?

never thought about that before

the Italian media has him signing for bolognia today

but they are no more reliable than our own so who knows

Rather Mbokani than Destro for me. The Italian just has that Wolfswinkel vibe for me. Would prefer a striker proven in the PL but Mbokani has been around the block and looks to have all the physical attributes we want so I''d chalk that up as a good signing.

Interesting point about us signing both, would certainly be fine replacements and upgrades on RvW and Lefferty in my eyes.

Laff''s is a strange one, in a way it''d be a shame to let him go as he does have some good qualities - but the fact we loaned him out last season suggests he''s not in first team plans.
What if we sign Mbokani & the Roma guy?
Then the half dozen or so posters here whose parents haven''t yet got round to telling them there is no such person as Father Christmas would still complain that we hadn''t spent £10m on a central defender.

Father Christmas? I did hear he''s made several offers to buy the club but the owners won''t sell to him.

Regarding the journo reporting this, he''s pretty small fry on Twitter, but is a Belgian who seems to specialise in Congolese football. He apparently knew that the Mbemba to Newcastle transfer was going ahead - no earlier tweets.

Mbokani is the missing piece in our team. Fits in with Neil''s footballing approach perfectly. Fingers crossed he joins us.

Doesnt sound like the team player we need if he is messing Kiev about to get a move.

I wouldn''t think AN would sign him if he didn''t think he was a decent ''fit'' and he does seem to have been one of our main targets this summer; we''ve played a bit of a long game over this and it may be paying off.
