Quite agree with the charge, if it had been The Special One ( although he ain't so Special anymore ) people would have been screaming for him to have been charged yet somehow the jolly, jovial German scouse seems to have a licence to say and do whatever he wants.

Ah cool, thought that was it when I saw them leading at 87 minutes or something. Early days yet to get completely obsessed with rivals’ results, I know. But just a teeny weeny bit obsessed is ok, right?

I'm wondering if 1p5wich beat Accrington will it count as a Giant killing?

far from it though she wasn't always keen on changing ends at half time

Have to agree with Herman and Nutty on this. Liverpool were at home and so I would imagine the Everton fans were less than happy about it to put it mildly. However, what happens when the away manager does that. Think Paul Lambert sprinting on to the pitch at Carrow Road to congratulate Luke Chambers after Ipswich have grabbed a 96th minute winner against us. (Obviously I hope I'm wrong etc. etc......) t

Sorry I disagree, I thought it was completely over the top and he deserves a bit of a rollicking. Quite inciteful and if I was an Everton fan I woud have wanted to lynch him for that.

I think that’s what LDC is saying really certainly the original guy who’d bought Soton was held up as a great example and after he died, there was lavish praise for his daughter early for sticking with them, shame she then cashed in. Problem for us is that we’re not immune . I appreciate the arrangement with nephew Tom but it still leaves us very much subject to the whims of an individual. Ideally id prefer to have some long term model to ensure the club can’t be sold out down the line.

But looking at this season. We have Bolton, Bristol and Blackburn which takes us to the half-way mark. After that, of course we have to play all the teams one more time. But it is quirky that starting with Forest on Boxing Day through until the derby on Feb 10th we have most of the "standout" tough games. After the derby, on paper the games get a lot easier, the trip to Middlesboro being the big exception. It could easily pan out different ways. A couple of defeats after Christmas could throw us off our stride and with all those tough games we could struggle to recapture our current form. Alternatively we could continue to overpower teams and still find ourselves top come the end of Feb 10th and then cruise home. Who knows ? What I can say with absolute certainty is that if you were a Forest or a Derby fan right now, would you be fancying their trips to Carrow Road over the Christmas period ? I'm pretty sure the answer is no. Remember, we beat Forest and got a well-deserved draw at Derby. So we have no reason to fear these teams .

As we've witnessed with Farke, he's a man who needs time to stamp his style on a playing squad. Let's be honest, we put up with over 12 months of mostly dross before his formula has started to bear fruit. Those teams around or in the Premier League relegation zone are going to be wanting instant results. It's for that reason I don't think we need to worry about him being snaffled by a lower Premier League team. It'd be too much of a risk for them. He'd be a better appointment for a mid-table side looking to push up the league and compete for European qualification, like a Watford, Leicester, Everton type club. And I don't think he's done enough to warrant the sort of admiration outside of Norfolk that would get him an appointment like that. I hope I don't end up with egg on my face but I think we need to worry.

Rearrange these words into a well-known phrase or saying: “beat with the stick to any club”.

😂. Ed is an extremely well educated and astute man. If people could put aside their own simplistic political leanings I’m sure they’d come to the same conclusion. Having spent some time in his company, he is every bit as Norwich centric as any of us. I’ve seen him home and away numerous times with his family and, if you give him the chance, he’s as engaging and enthused as any City fan you’d come across. My own little conspiracy theory is that perhaps the Labour Party need a new leader. As they stand today, they’re akin to that lot down the road but with less direction. Yvette Cooper seems to be well respected in and out of the party and should there be a leadership battle, she might be well placed. It’d be a good time to take the job given that only Corbyn, Darth Vader or Stalin would struggle to muster a polling lead against the dreadful May. My suspicion is that Ms Cooper will go for the leadership and in anticipation of an obvious landslide at the next GE will need Ed and the family fully on board. 👍

I don’t think it’s necessarily his political leanings that people don’t like. More the fact that he comes across as a pompous, self-serving, media-hungry tart. Indeed, appointing Webber currently looks like a master stroke. Equally, falling out with McNally and the appointment of ‘Jez’ doesn’t look quite so clever.

Well I was coy with my wording. But deliberate. Which comes down to the rather boring topic of corporate governance. (I'm a forensic accountant by trade). At the time of the Moxey hiring, Mr Balls was acting both as Chairman and doing 'some executive roles' for paid remuneration. It was never made clear what exactly those roles were. Regardless that's a big red flag in corporate governance and, in my view, in contravention of the UK Corporate Governance Code. Something Mr Balls would have been very familiar with given his previous role as Shadow Chancellor. (I made those views clear on this forum years ago). The reason it's an issue is the chairman's role is to provide critical oversight to the decision making of the company. It becomes very blurry when the chairman becomes part of that decision making. It's a stretch to say that the Moxey fiasco was down to this governance issue. But I certainly think it was a contributing factor in why it was such a dog's breakfast. Mr Balls has himself admitted that hiring Moxey was a mistake at a previous AGM. With regards to transfer deadline day. I don't, and that should be very obvious given what I've said above, expect the Chairman to be calling the shots. But, they should be there to critically challenge any major operational decisions. If, for example, we received an offer to sell our best player at well above market price, I'd want the Chairman to be making sure we as a club were making the right call by asking questions and analysing the options. Not something you can do when you are spending all day filming in a studio. None of this should be read as if I don't appreciate the role Mr Balls has performed. He appears to have done well given he stepped into the role during a difficult time for the club. However, any assessment must incorporate the good and the bad and avoid being clouded by our current short-term (though hopefully long-term!) success on the pitch. With all that said, one final point. This forum, and the public in general tend to lionise the senior management in companies. Few companies are run as dictatorships (and none should, it often ends very badly which I can professionally attest to). Decisions come down to the hard work to a collection of people. I was always very wary of the cult that built around McNally. And equally sceptical of the septic criticism Delia gets for that reason. Anyway, Mr Balls has come and gone. So will a new Chairman. Our fortunes will ebb and flow. Plus ca change.

Solihull Moors at home for me. If we can't beat a bunch of Muslims from Iberia with a Prince called Othello then we shouldn't be playing.

He didn't do it for a laugh. They've all got new clauses inserted in their contracts saying that they have to do ten hours a week gardening due to Brexit. Up at Colney they've already turned over half the training ground to vegetables. The Academy kids have to do one day a week at Eaton & Otley studying horticulture.
