Knutsen's odds are shortening. Into fourth favourite at Skybet (12/1) and fifth favourite with Bet Victor (16/1).

Knutsen signed a new contract with Bodø/Glimt before this season.

They are top off the league. Champions League playoff this sommer. Glimt have more money then Norwich

Sara, Rowe and Sargent the onely players that would get in Glimts starting 11.

Not interested in Ajax when they wanted him.

He is NOT coming!!!

I get that he may not come to Norwich but seriously, the Norwegian league better than the Championship? Because that's what you are saying... and yet UEFA don't recognise it as being better. And if all of those players are so much better than those at Norwich why are they not all in better leagues earning more money? And as for Glimt having more money...

Apparently in 2022 Glimt had a record turnover of around £15m. Up to 30th June 2023, Norwich's turnover was £75.6m. This year will be less owing to the last instalment of parachute payments. And it may well be that Glimt has "more in the bank". But I doubt you'd get more money for the Glimt squad than the Norwich squad.

Let's see how many Glimt players get multi-million pound moves to bigger leagues in Europe over the summer compared to Norwich players.

Danny Rohl at Sheff Wed?

£5m compensation package written into his contract.  £10m with his backroom staff - at least  according to a Wednesday supporting mate of mine (no idea if that has been reported somewhere or if it is just wishful thinking in his part mind you ...)

He has done a great job there though.

Danny Rohl has indeed done a great job at Sheffield Wednesday but I'm not sure his style would suit us.

We effectively want to play like a Championship-version of Arsenal, that's the club's DNA (for want of a better phrase).

Johannes Hoff-Thorop and Marti Cifuentes have both entered the market today at 16s.

Nope, me neither....

Have a feeling this might be bookies catching wind that it'll be a lesser-known appointment so banging some unusual names in there to hook some hipster fish.

Cifuentes has done well at QPR - if you're praising Rohl for saving Sheffield Wednesday then Cifuentes deserves similar, if not quite as effusive, praise for keeping that QPR side up too.

Cifuentes was in the betting yesterday around that price. I'm surprised that he hasn't been mentioned more, as the job he did at QPR last season was very similar to what Rohl did at Sheffield Wednesday.

Never heard of Hoff Thorop, but a quick search tells me he's the head coach of Nordsjaelland having worked his way up through the youth setup, and that hss been very productive for them in recent years.

As i said in a previous thread, arteta was Peps no.2 and learnt from him, now Cuesta has learnt from Arteta.

Thats why id like to give him a shot. He's learnt and been moulded from the best

Brian Kidd, Steve McLaren, Carlos Queiroz also learnt from Alex Ferguson but were pretty rubbish as managers.

One rumour suggests we are involved in advanced talks with a foreign manager who would require a work permit. If true that would rule out a large number on the current betting lists.

I'll give you Brian Kidd, but McLaren and Queiroz were absolutely not "pretty rubbish as managers".

McLaren flopped for England but won a decent trophy for Boro and led them to a UEFA Cup final. He also led Twente to their first ever Dutch title ahead of the likes of Ajax, PSV and Feyernoord.

Queiroz failed at Real Madrid but is an accomplished international manager.

I will go by my Spanish app that rates Bodo Glimt at 84 alongside Norwich at 80 and Leeds at 86..

McLaren had limited success and Queiroz was not very good at all IMHO.

Describing what McLaren did at Boro and Twente as "limited success" is pretty bizarre to be honest.

I didn't say that, I said he had limited success. You've picked two managerial posts out of 10. I'd say 20% is limited success.

Well at least we could shaft everyone we played as that is their style. And then blame everyone else when all fails. 😃

Sorry if mentioned but can't be bothered to scroll through.

This is a massive unknown! Never heard of him! Where has that come from 🤣

Quick Google says he's the current manager of Danish top tier side FC Nordsjælland.

I'd rather have David Hasselhoff

A quick Google brought up this tweet...

https://x.com/HCfootball01/status/1759587581925150874

Which as the embedding function doesn't seem to work reads as follows...

Quote

If I was Sunderland I’d be going to Danish football and going for Nordsjælland manager Johannes Hoff Thorup, I’ve mentioned a few times I watch a lot of talents from Nordsjælland, the manager improves them. Plays a brand of football which dominates the ball, offensively threatening and the best defence in the league - all round provides good balance and know how he wants his team to play. Still only 35 and I think he matches exactly what Sunderland want.

Sounds a little bit like a mini Arteta.
