It's FA Cup day and those who are about to die salute you. We travel to Liverpool who are top of the Premier League and in the League Cup final so they are on for the treble. It's also their first game since Klopp announced he is off so that will energise them. They do have a busy schedule so are sure not to field their strongest side, but Whoever Klopp picks should beat Wagners best hands down. We can but dream so lets hope the away support have a good day out and we keep it close and maybe spoil treble dreams. Of interest the last time we played them was a 2:1 cup loss at Anfield and the last time we beat them was at Anfield in 1994. That was the last game of the their beloved all terraced Kop stand. 0:1, Jeremy Goss thank you now take your seat.

Despite the absence of Rowe and Sargent I am hoping that Barnes will not be included in the squad. The spectacle of watching that slow, lumbering 34year old trying to compete against fit , young talented players would just bring into sharp relief how far our Club has fallen . Please no!

Minor panic; scheduled connecting train from Manchester Piccadilly cancelled, but pointed to another train from Oxford Road that gets to Liverpool 23 minutes earlier. Result.

Now on train with lots of Liverpool tourists!

100%, team looks much worse without Sargent and relies on some magic from Rowe all to often. Without both really creates an attacking challenge and that’s before you look at who we’re playing.

Its a shame that the FA Cup has seemingly lost its appeal.
The fact that many clubs now use it as a means of giving squad members not in their respective first choice teams the chance to play is very disappointing for supporters.
Its almost as if its looked on as a bit of a cash cow rather than a prestigious tournement.
