Was superb tonight, and as CC said above, we went on a poor run of results when Long was in goal.  It's not just the saves, but the reassurance of having a switched on keeper behind you when playing.

Some excellent saves and had his head fully screwed on. Let's hope he's here a good few years.

When he plays like that he's one of the best in this league

"Goalkeepers should be banned from heading the ball, and I would go as far as to bam them from touching the ball outside their 18 yard box.... well when playing us anyway." Leroy Rosjunior  "And since when has it been permissible for a keeper to block a clear goal scoring  opportunity by using his hands ? We wuz robbed"

Remember when Webber p**sed the money up the wall by signing him for 5 million. Webber out!

Curious thought. Gunn joined Man City with us getting an initial £250,000 payment. I wonder if there was any sell on clause, appearance payments etc, as he joined S'oton for a figure quoted as £10million.

Just remember it's 2024 and there are still Norwich fans, on this forum, who don't rate Gunn at championship level.

Let that sink in and then suddenly the booing 8 minutes into a game when we pass it out from the back makes sense.

Will turn 28 on the 22nd and is beginning to look like a bit like a replica of his Dad. Really hope that he signs a new contract as he only has one year left, we don’t currently have anyone good enough to take over his duties and is one of the players we should be building a team around. If we offer him a new contract hopefully his Dad will encourage him to sign it.

But we don't pass it out from the back, we pass it around and across the back and then someone normally just hoofs it up the pitch?

The idea of passing it out from the back is to create space into which to play the ball forward into midfield or to a forward in space. We seem largely incapable of moving the ball around quickly enough to create that space with the result that often panic sets in and we hoof it forward.

Let’s be honest alongside Rowe the two in the running for POTS! Excellent keeper.

But when we do create chances, its when we've been successful moving it out from the back. If fans booed when it broke down it'd make sense, booing it 8 minutes into the Hudds and Weds home games when it was working gives you an insight into the football-intelligence surrounding you...

Granted Long played well vs Bristol R...but i wonder how many points we lost during Gunn's injury?

Well just for a start, THAT Watford game 🙄🙄🙄 the ball just bounced off him and couldn't catch a cold 😬

That's because L1 is his level, better we let him go in the summer!!

Hopefully he won't need much encouragement from snr,  being a Norwich fan anyway, surely being our number 1 for the next 5,6,7,8 years will be enough for him.

That's the conundrum. We seem to produce an infinite amount of keepers, who barely rise above a loanee at a lower league club. It would be foolish to think that Gunn has not been approached by PL clubs, if only for his performances. He is the Scottish number one and a good Euro thing this summer will undoubtedly be raising his value. A bonus is that he is a Norwich lad and being 'stuck' out here and in the Championship has not done his international career any harm. Him and Krul will be a hard act to follow, when the time comes.
