Exactly my thinking, and especially with the tweet @cambridgeshire canary put in. I think Warner was initially lined up, twanged something late and Wagner's decided he wants a left-footer in at centre-half, so went for McLean.

Might work. McLean's good in the air and keeping him in a back four might stop him ruining our midfield shape by chasing one that's not on. Might go horribly Pete Tong though.

EDIT: I mean, Lungi made himself popular by going in at left-back in Farke's second Championship-winning season and no-one saw that coming that day at Brentford.

I don't even know what to say about that line up. If you want to play Kenny at all,that is questionable. At centre half it's probably the most bizarre decision I've ever seen by a Norwich manager. And then to drop Batth and keep Duffy in. Words fail me.

We’ve seen him drop McClean back to CB during games with mixed results.

On paper it should give us control to play out so it’s sacrificing defensive solidity (let’s face it we have none anyway) for effectively an extra Midfielder when we have the ball.

It’s an incredible gamble, **** or bust for Wagner I guess. Regardless of result this is unsustainable though, anyone can see that.
