Farke comes a raiding!

Recommended Posts

Weren't we interested in having Paul Clements long before Farke was even talked about being their Head Coach? I think it's a case of Wootten going because Wagner wanted his own goalkeeping Coach & Wootten was his preferred choice.

No big deal - I couldn’t really care less who the keeper coach is.

Quite, not nearly as important as the 'take a fall at the slightest touch coach.' At least judging by Grant Hanley's expertise.

Before the Lynn match, Southwell and Davitt discussed twitter rumours Gunn was off to Leeds. Perhaps the rumour just picked the wrong part of the goalkeeping team.

Krul is an experienced international keeper. Isn't he more than qualified to know what he is doing? I know Wooten never played at League level but I assume has his badges.

Are you suggesting we replace a coach with Tim Krul?

I was pointing out that Tim Krul, saver of World Cup penalties, is probably better qualified, maybe without badges, to know what he should do than Wooten.

Michael McGovern meanwhile must be kicking himself. Way into his coaching badges. Well respected future goalkeeper coach we just let go.

Or Max in the opposition box.

I thought this was going to be a thread about how Farke was going to raid us for all the best players from his tenure here... But then I remembered that none of them actually play for us anymore.

Maybe they’ll take Lakey and he’ll join the Leeds version of the Pink Un :  D

If you ever got a chance to see WACCOE then you'd see how lucky we are with the characters on here...

I attended an online webinar with Dan during lockdown on coaching goalkeepers; came across as very knowledgeable and well-spoken.

And if Gunn, coaches and others are heading to Leeds do we get to ask about the role Webber might be playing in all of this if, as is also rumoured, he too is heading over there? Has Farke’s appointment led to a “let’s get the band back together” - a regroup at a better remunerated venue? Obviously not much one can do about it- except it would make webbers position untenable

It doesn't work that way, or the England world cup squad would have produced more managers than just Jackie Charlton. Others had limited success.

Hard to imagine Farce would want to work with the guy that dumped him

New manager Daniel Farke appears to be on the hunt for new signings, with Hay recently stating that a new goalkeeper, left-back, centre-back and midfielder could be on the radar.

Names who have been linked with a move to Elland Road include Newcastle United’s Karl Darlow, Preston North End’s Freddie Woodman, Norwich City’s Angus Gunn, free agent Ryan Manning, Burnley’s Charlie Taylor, Liverpool’s Nat and Coventry City’s Gustavo Hamer.

A new centre-forward also appears to be of interest to those at Elland Road, with Piroe named as a target alongside Nottingham Forest's Sam Surridge. Writing for The Athletic, Hay said:

Never really understood the goalkeeper coach role , goalkeepers know what they have to do !

Not really surprised by this tbh, most managers/head coaches like to work with the same staff and Wooten was brought in by Farke originally.

We are allegedly after Warner’s old keeper coach at Huddersfield, Clements I think his name is.
