Sargent is signed on

Recommended Posts

Great news, I've seen some of him in the Bundesliga, he's a lot better than his stats suggest but remember he's only young and will massively improve. Hopefully prove competition for Pukki and can feature in wide positions too.

Well, Webber said the transfer record could go twice during this window. He's been as good as his word.

Words from the boss on this signing -

Head coach Daniel Farke said: “We’re really happy to have Josh with us. He’s at a young age with lots of potential. There was a lot of interest in him, so we must pay many compliments to Stuart Webber for getting this deal done.

“Josh has a lot of experience in the top level in the Bundesliga in Germany and has been there with many goals and assists. He has also scored goals for his national team.

“He’s a very good striking option for us but is someone who can also play on the wing. He has pace and is also good with his head. We know he is always there with a big workload and has a fantastic character. His left foot is complete and utter shoite as rightly pointed out by a fan who watched a 3 minute video, but we really like his right duke.

“We know we have to be a bit more creative in the transfer market. We think we have a player in Josh who can contribute and develop into a top goalscorer on Premier League level. We see his potential and are delighted to have him with us.”

I love how that beat the censors. 😄

How dare you. We have no ambition, as if we would ever break a record transfer once nevermind twice in one window

As much as I like and respect Bethnal..I disagree with his assessment of this player. We need a hard working forward who can link the midfield and attack and who can create chances for other players, he will get better and he will raise our profile in the USA. I remember Shearer was seen as a hard working support striker who didn't score many goals when he was young, then he matured and the rest is history, he's got an exception coach who turned Teemu Pukki into a dangerous PL lever striker so I'm excited to see how this guy develops with us.

He’s going to score against Liverpool and become an instant hero, Gunny. With a left foot screecher

Absolutely seamless transition Alex, even better that I continued reading it in Daniel Farke's voice.

I'll be excited to see Sargent in action and hopefully develop into a solid PL striker! I might be an example of 1, but I really do think the Norwich story/brand/identity is very appealing to a lot of Americans and that making inroads in the US could pay real dividends for the club!

💪

Interesting coincidence that two East Anglian clubs have signed ginger players in the same week.

We've signed Sargent - Ipswich have 'signed'............... erm.................. Ed Sheeran.

He's going to be a major player for us with his general all round ability and could well end up as captain.

I’m cautiously excited about this signing, more I hear and see the more it looks like we’ve signed a top emerging talent.

I expect to see Sargent pepper the opposition with shots and goals. I hope to enjoy the show.

His goal output last season looks a little poor but he was playing in a struggling team, given our strong scouting network in Germany,  could be a steal.  Normally appears that Bayern Munich sweep up all the talent in Germany, hope they missed a trick here!
