Jerome to Derby

Recommended Posts

Sad to see Cam go. A great player for us, a good guy, always gave 100%. But life moves on. Perhaps he will move back to the area when his playing days are over. He''s had a few clubs throughout his career but I reckon he''s ours.

We are left with 1 senior striker, who has fitness issues.

Surely we wouldn''t let Jerome go without having a replacement lined up?

What happens if Oliviera pulls his hamstring against Chelsea? We will have literally no strikers?

It seems like Farke is determined to get a squad/team of his own choosing by the way the old guard seem to be leaving (Martin, Jerome, Naismith.)

He clearly has plans for replacements and let''s hope that they are as good a buy as Trybul and Zimmerman have proven to be.

We''ll likely have a team made up of half German footballers by this time next year.

Could be good, especially with a couple of new strikers.

Don''t care where they are sourced as long as they''re good! Trybull and Zimmerman have indeed been excellent additions.

There''s no way that we can judge this as a ''good deal'' until we know whether we''re going to purchase a replacement - and then it''s not a good deal until we know if they can do a decent job for us.

I don''t currently see having one recognised senior striker on the books as being particularly sensible, especially when that player is short on form and confidence and giving a good impression of someone who doesn''t want to be here...
As with Klopp at Liverpool, maybe we will go the way of not having an out and out striker, but a front line that can interchange and all score goals?
I wouldn''t mind a front 3 of Mane, Salah and Firmino...

To be fair at this level a front three of Murphy, Maddison & Edwards could be very good at this level.

It''s ok we have the free scoring Ashley Fletcher on this way from Middlesbrough... wait for those who approve of our current austerity regime, going on about his time at Man Utd etc..... then look at his scoring record and wonder why Pulis would get rid of him.
Just confirmed cam jam has gone
From official site: https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2018/january/cameron-jerome-derby/

Striker Cameron Jerome has left Norwich City to join Derby County for an undisclosed fee.

Jerome joined the Canaries from Stoke

City in August 2014, going on to net 20 times in 44 Sky Bet Championship

matches during the 2014-15 campaign.Among those strikes was the

opening goal at Wembley in May 2015, as City''s 2-0 play-off final

victory over Middlesbrough saw them earn promotion to the Premier

League. The following season saw another memorable moment, with

the frontman hitting the target to help his side secure a famous 2-1 win

away to Manchester United. This term, Jerome has scored twice in

17 outings, taking his overall tally while with the club to 42 goals in

138 appearances across all competitions.City Head Coach Daniel Farke said: "We took the decision where if everything was fine between the clubs, Cameron could go."It was a tricky decision. He has done so much for this club and always had a good attitude, so we respect what he wanted to do."With Cameron going, there is space in the squad. We are looking to strengthen in the striking areas."Everyone

at Norwich City would like to thank Cameron for his considerable

contribution to the club and wish him well for the future.

"Derby, who are second in the Championship, table, already have numerous

attacking options with Matej Vydra, Sam Winnall, David Nugent, Darren

Bent, Chris Martin, Johnny Russell, Tom Lawrence, Andreas Weimann and

Mason Bennett in their squad."!!!

Not a surprise got back what we paid and another big earner off the books. He has done well for us but is the wrong side of 30 and needs 3 or 4 chances to score which he will not get that often the way we are set up and play. I hope he does well. At this rate we won''t need next summer for a clear out

Any striker we can afford will need 3 or 4 chances to score.
