lake district canary 4,716 Posted March 2 Without Nunez and Hernandez, the team/subs list doesn't look so exciting. Should be enough, just shame we are missing two players who were coming into good form.
Robert N. LiM 5,744 Posted March 2 Assuming that, given the injuries, this is basically the only team Wagner could have picked and there will be universal approval of the selection on here.

Bigbrenn 86 Posted March 2 (edited) With injuries, I agree the cupboard is bare but, I still do not like that back four. When under pressure, they panic too much or are too passive. McLean is due a cockup as well. Weather getting me down. Sorry. Edited March 2 by Bigbrenn

But I agree that Hanley and Gibson don't inspire confidence like they did in the last promotion season. However, with Nunez out, how could we put McLean in the back four? 1

rock bus 1,006 Posted March 2 Still room for a moan….don’t understand why we aren’t playing McCallum over Dimi? Be nice to see Sydney and at least one of the youngsters get some minutes later in the game (hopefully when we are comfortably in the lead!)
Mike w 48 Posted March 2 Got to ge Sydney on at some point as will need him if we make play-offs with our injury record

Pretty much Dimi or McCallum is his only selection headache, rest basically pick themselves. One option could have been keep Kenny in defence and bring Sorensen or Gibbs in alongside Sara I suppose. Really looking threadbare unless some youth players step up, going to be a difficult run in. Edited March 2 by Monty13

Yes, there's no real choice now (and no options from the bench). The squad is looking very thin, but it's only really Rowe that's missing from the first 11. jonnyace1 28 Posted March 2 There is room for adjustment . McLean in defence and Sorensen with Sara that worked well previously. The Hanley/Gibbo partnership does not invoke confidence.

lake district canary 4,716 Posted March 2 It's so cr*p watching Gibson and Hanley pass it around as nether has the confidence/ability to play it forwards and end up waiting for Mclean or Sara to drop back and take it on, usually with a hopeful - wayward - ball forwards. It looks so laboured and uninspiring. When the tempo is higher we look a lot better, but it starts at the back - or should do.

Duffy has got a load of stick this season.. but is better both in the air and with his feet than Gibson and Hanley and we miss him.
