I was unlucky enough to be standing beside a few half a shandy lads on Saturday to hear the Borja Sainz song & lyrics.... Here goes!

Borja Sainz, Borja Sainz he eats paella & he drinks Stella, he hates F------  Ipswich!

Now that's a anthem to take into the play offs 🙄

Stella is French, it makes no sense 🤷‍♂️😁

They should use Estrella, that works.

We were singing Estrella I thought that what everyone else was! Part rip off of the garrido chant but I like it.

That would make more sense,  probably what it is and was misheard?

Definitely an ignorant bunch that sing that!

I was thinking a twist on Signed, Sealed, Delivered would be better

Next season, Ace of base:

"I saw the Sainz, and it opened up my eyes, I saw the Sainz!

We are all standing, no-one is complaining!"

doo doo doo dodo doo-do, doo doo doo dodo doo-dodo!  etc.  😉

Do they pronounce paella and estrella with an ‘el’ or an ‘ey’?

I imagine they pronounce it incorrectly like most British tourists do in Spain!

I thought someone had suggested that awful song Something Good by the Utah Saints, but I can only find this reference from @Herman

Thankfully no one else has suggested it since.

I prefer the Sainz song to the tune of this classic

Heard it earlier this season but it never got going, can't remember the lyrics either

Personally I think it would scan better if the last line of the song was added to:

" He hates f**king Ipswich cos he's a yella"

Is there any substance as to why he hates Ipswich has he muttered something about them?
Or has it just been put in for the benefit of those who sing it?

I already posted one to this tune:

Oh, Borja Sainz, he's a wizard on the wing, he's Borja Sainz
He's magic and Spanish, he makes defenders vanish,
Oh, Borja Sainz, he'll skin you every time, he's Borja Sainz

When Borja Sainz is on the ball

When Borja Sainz is on the ball

I want to be in the Barclay

When Borja Sainz is on the ball

To the tune of Saints Go Marching In.

What is Paella anyway?

A while since this thread had an airing, and as a confessed non-poet, I am quietly going mad since these lyrics popped into my head:

(To the tune of 'The Times They Are A-changing" by Bob Dylan)

"You've come to the Carra, from your sunny Spain.

You run at defenders, again and again.

A hat-trick at Derby that won us the game,

BORJA  SAINZ, you are AMAA-AZING!"

Just wondering if we couldn't come up with something to the Ketchup Song or La Macarena. Then again, singing either of those tunes at a football match might be a crime punishable by a Kellen Fisher slide tackle or something.

Anyone under 30 won't have a clue how the tune goes 😉
