Forshaw off to Plymouth !

Recommended Posts

Ah you beat me to it.

I think this would be a good move all round if it comes off, he hasn't brought anything to the team sadly and it would be good to get him off the wage bill. Hopefully this improves our chances of making a signing this window too!

Yes seems a strange one as a recent signing , i imagine player wants 1st team football and he is not going to get that here ,

not really worked out but another waste of money from webber as he would of got a good signing on fee we could of used for someone else !

An odd signing when you read that Farke wanted to assess his fitness before offering him a contract yet we step in and sign him.

Would be great if he does. 32 years old, has missed loads of games through injury, been awful when he has played, and probably on quite high wages considering he came from Leeds as a free agent. Falls into the “age of our squad” matter, a sick note, rubbish signing, and in addition to lowering the age of our squad, I would think we also need to “lower the wage” of our squad

Good to see some of the deadwood is getting trimmed , hopefully freeing up some wages for a CDM !!

Nope, your right. Only took him the best part of 3 months to actually do something. Not bad going......🙃

Probably not a popular opinion on here but I don't think we should be going out to sign anyone just because Forshaw is gone. My view was always that all he was doing was blocking Gibbs' so now that he's gone it should allow him more minutes. There's also the Sorensen question and maybe Knapper wants to get him more time so he can make a decision there too.

Hwang and Forshaw out is a good start imo, both contributed little this year and hardly long term assets either.

Shame about him really, as he's a decent player on his day - but clearly not working here.  Would've fit into a Farke team better no doubt.

Good player, shame it didn't work out, but he needs regular games and he just wasn't going to get them here.

Good Player ????

Lots of games for Brentford, Boro and Leeds.....yes he's a good player. Lots of experience.

You feel if he'd had a run of games without being injured, ill or dropped then he might have done a job here but seems too injury prone. We were never going to see the best of him with the odd appearance here and there.

Totally underwhelmed when we signed him and totally underwhelmed to hear he is off.

His best days are behind him but if he can stay fit and well Plymouth have a decent player if played in the right set-up. However, I do wonder if we are paying part of his wages at least for 6 months as some work to do on the deal...

"There remains some work to do on the deal - but all parties are confident that Forshaw will join the Devon based side."

Sara, McLean, Nunez, Gibbs, Sorensen as a two behind Barnes should be enough to see out the season - even better if we can sign a specialist DM!

We couldn't afford passengers. Unfortunately we signed a few.

Reasons to be cheerful! Hwang gone! Forshaw gone! Just Baath & Gibson to go this January and our wages should be low enough to get a couple decent loans in!

Nothing against him, he was a good player but we haven’t seen it. Knapper made it clear he wants to reduce the age of the squad so makes sense.

Would be nice to see an in incoming but I’m happy with how Knappers quietly going about his business if this and maybe one of the rumours comes off.

Doubt Hwang would have been gone had he not been injured!

After a less than inspiring first couple of months or so I thought Hwang improved markedly. Each of his goals was quality. He very nearly scored screamers at home (V Huddersfield which would have been a very high contender for our goal of the season) + that free kick v Millwall. Not saying he's a top class striker or such like but to bracket him with the old Leeds reject is a tad unfair I'd say.

Well done Knapper. That's two over 30s who weren't up to it off the books.

When do we get the money pi##Ed up the wall comments from him?

We obviously don’t know who’s going to work out in advance, but he wasn’t really worth the gamble (unless he was on a footballer’s equivalent of peanuts) -particularly when we’d only just had Byram….and Sod’s Law all-but dictated he’d have a good season somewhere else.

No not for me, he was utterly poor and his personal life isn’t one we want to be associated with! Especially a loan player! Glad he’s gone!

100% agree with this. Baring a disaster we aren’t going down this year so make sure Gibbs and maybe Lima have a path into the squad/team.

I know Knapper has been v quiet on the transfer front (prob driven by ffp/debts) but the exits and loans appear to be sensible decisions

Yes Byram was a bit of a sick note here but a decent player, but have it on good authority he & Dowell were offered an extension but decided to go elsewhere, fair enough! Never got why we signed Forshaw or Baath, last minute panic buys? No loss if both go this January, Baath injured now so probably here till the end of the season.

Are you really this stupid?

People are maybe seeing him from what he’s delivered for us, but Forshaw was a very good player in his day and excellent at Brentford when he was young. Injuries have caught up with him and seems he can’t do it regularly enough now.
