We have too many players of L1 quality and it shows - decline of the quality in squad is huge over last three years. We are just not that good

League 1, you having a laugh, more like National League and I am provbably doing them an injustice (NL)

Of all the games to gjve Fisher his full league debut...put him up against the best winger in the league ..and leagues top scorer.

Beggars belief

He's doing okay. On Stacey's last couple of performances it's probably not a bad choice from Wagner.

Those last 11 games last season were meant to be down to naivety and poor players.

Well kenny and Gibson are back, boosted by the experience of forshaw duffy and stacey,  yet the same fundamental problems are here this season as last.   Heads dropping, poor effort, ineffective midfield and defence.

Wagner has had his squad changes and ignored the need to dominate the middle of the park.

We were sh!t then amd are now but worse we have a slow aging squad.

Time to change

As harsh as this sounds... I don't think Gibson is a linchpin player. He has his good games and he can pass, but I've never been entirely convinced since we were promoted to the premier league.

As for the age... last season we deffo had too young a squad with the majority of players 24 and under, which is outside of the peak for footballers, or 30+. I think we only had two-three players between those age brackets and one of those was Gunn.

We needed more players 25/26-31 and we have them. The issue now is more that we are playing with our 3rd and 4th choice strikers and arguably our 3rd choice CB in Gibson every week.

The quality of our squad was always going to drop, but you have to inject enthusiasm into that squad with either a manager that can galvanise the players or new players who bring that attitude to the squad, or, BOTH.

Barnes clearly is a big influence on the pitch and that is exactly the sort of player we need more of. Wagner's contract is up at the end of the season isn't it? If that's the case he wouldn't be too expensive to dispatch and at this point I can see it happening because again, you can't change the players at this point.

There is a LOT that beggars belief - playing forshaw as box to box and Kenny deep- not changing CB- leaving Stacey out- persisting with tactics that haven’t worked since sarge was injured- refusing to play Baath- selling omo. He has to go now surely?

Nope. He’s here for a while yet. Sadly

Disappointed with Forshaw today but notable that he’s playing the box to box role and Kenny is sitting deep which is bizarre tactics again.

Not watching. Seriously? That is really weird.

Sunderland have two very good wingers so Norwich give them the freedom of Roker park to receive the ball.

Jack Clarke is Sunderland’s best player. Probably not the ideal game to be thrown into. Certainly not an easy introduction to this level.

A lot of people like to say the players aren't good enough and that may be true but do you really believe this is all a coach can get out of them?

They've been sent out there today with pretty much no game plan other than to sit deep. Our build up play at the start of the year was good, the players could do it then. As soon as teams figured out how to stop us though we've shown no signs of adaptation, that to me is a failure of coaching.
