That means that in 20 days time he can sign a pre-contract with any non-English team to agree to join them in the summer, or a 'Bosman' if you like.

Where is the succession planning Webber?

I said it on the “We take Pukki for granted” thread. I can’t remember where I read it, probably either the PinkUn, The Athletic (unlikely) or the BBC. I was quite happy to be corrected on the thread though and leave it there…

Agreed, I think that Rupp has actually been one of the positives for this season, and if we are doomed back to Championship he could do really well there. Would be shame to let him go for free.

It’s an odd one as it’s the one that keeps getting said about Todd.  It’s more ‘appropriate’ to look at it as them being here until 2023 with a break clause.

He'd be alrite if his hamstrings weren't made out of cheese strings. How many hamstring injuries does he have in a season.

What on earth for?

For leaving us completely reliant on one ageing striker,  blowing £8.8m (up to £11m) on Josh Sargent and £5m on Hugill?

We've succession planned for a keeper who is contracted to summer 2024, and our second best striker is Adam Idah who is increasingly looking like he's set for a career in League One which is where half the Ireland team seems to play these days.

So no, I'm not. Any other stupid questions?

Break clause in our favour too. We have the option, not them. So we just need to activate it. I can't see that not happening tbh. Wouldn't be surprised to see him given a two year deal with a further one year option in any case. He could see out his days here unless a final pay-day comes in for him. Perhaps an MLS team or one of the bigger teams in Turkey perhaps?

I could see him finishing his career in Finland where he's a national hero.... probably for HJK, win a few domestic trophies.

I think he's still got loads to give snd could still do a job for us even into his mid 30s as a number 2

As I said on another thread I think we should try and tempt him to finish his career here by throwing in a coaching role at the end

He'd still probably be our number 1 for a couple of years then could be used as an impact sub and a Tetteyesque "good bloke to have around"

It's also worth pointing out that out-of-contract players can discuss terms and sign pre-contracts with other clubs in the final six months of their contract, which would mean those expiring in the summer can do so from the start of January, not the end of it.
